Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PHD) Shampoo (For All Hair Types) 32oz

My hair has been on quite a journey during the last 3 years along with the pandemic. I started using the shampoo when my dark brown plus grey hair was bleached ash blonde and it provided the hydration and helped with the damage. As I grew it all out and went completely natural and mostly grey, it reined in the variable texture across my greys and darks and kept frizz in check (with the help of no frizz styling creme). I switch up the conditioner based on my hair’s latest needs and this shampoo continues to be my constant.

The combo of the Perfect Hair Day shampoo and conditioner is my current favorite. Just for reference, my hair isn’t color treated and very fine. My hair is pretty healthy, though I do have an oily scalp. I find that this shampoo cleanses without drying out my hair. I love the lather, and it smells amazing. It claims to keep your hair cleaner, longer with continuous use. I have to shampoo my hair quit often due to the fact that i live in a very hot climate, so I can’t really speak too much on that claim, BUT I have noticed that during long summer days, my hair will still look and smell fresh at the end of the day. The price is $59 for 24 ounces (the jumbo size.) Compared to some other higher end brands I use (Bumble and Bumble for example), Living Proof has less product for the same price. Also, I hate the pump that comes with the jumbos. Barely any product comes out. I tried to use a universal pump I had but due to the fact that Living Proof jumbos are smaller, the universal pump didn’t fit.... just a couple annoyances, but nothing big enough to take away my 5 star rating. I must say that I have been very pleased with most of the Living Proof products I have tried.

A good shampoo

I feel like the people who are leaving negative reviews for this shampoo don't know how to properly wash their hair to begin with. The people who are saying it's leaving their ends dry, etc. when you wash your hair with shampoo it should be concentrated in the roots and then ran through your mid shaft and ends. You don't need to lather your mid shaft and ends, and conditioner is not to be placed on your roots, just the mid shaft and ends of your hair so your scalp doesn't get unnecessarily greasy. If you're washing your hair correctly you should have no problem with this. And for the reviews that say the fragrance is too strong or smells peppery?? I think this shampoo is great. I pair this shampoo with the no frizz conditioner and I have had good results. I was previously using a moisturizing CBD shampoo and conditioner that was really weighing my hair down, it seemed to leave a film on my hair and I couldn't go a day without washing my hair because it would be pretty greasy. However, with this shampoo, the next day my hair still looks great, it's not weighed down or greasy. My hair looks healthy and shiny. This shampoo really does combat dirt and oil so you can confidently go an extra day or two without needing to wash your hair, and that is perfect for me. Paired with the no frizz conditioner, this is a win for me and I will continue to purchase.

I’ve tried to steer clear of paying high end prices for shampoos as I was an avid user of Kerastase and it burnt such a hole in my purse! However, when I first used this shampoo and conditioner for the first time in YEARS, I woke after a night out and my hair looked like it had just been washed and blow dried - and that has never ever happened. I went on to having perfectly clean hair for 6 days with no grease whatsoever! I decided to see if it was all too good to be true and 2 days ago washed my hair with a standard shampoo and the following day my hair already felt dirty, limp and greasy. Exactly what damaged hair needs!!

I got this with the conditioner and the styling treatment. I did some googling and read a couple of reviews on this product before I purchased. Most of the reviews were 4 starts and above but you got some saying it smells too peppery or that it's very thin formula and you need a lot of product. Firstly, I personally think that's a lie, the smell is not too strong and not too weak and actually pleasant. The shampoo and conditioner are very concentrated. I've got below shoulder length hair and all you need is a walnut sized amount on your palm. Even with more expensive brands and product I have to use a lot more to get my hair to foam compared to this brand. I used the shampoo and conditioner, when I was washing the conditioner off I felt like I've got double the amount of hair, and it actually felt like hair rather than chemicals!! I used the styling treatment blow dried my hair and the results are amazing! I've got loads of hair that has snapped off and makes me constantly look like I've rubbed my hair with a balloon, that was gone so no frizz which is good. My hair had actually some volume and life in it and my ends didn't feel like they're about to snap off. Bonus point: my hair still feels like that on the 3rd day after washing it, whereas before I couldn't go more than 2 days before it looked like a grease ball!! Will definitely buy again! It goes perfect with the restore mask if you sleep with it overnight your hair feels like it has never touched bleach before!

I was trying to up my hair game, tried a few different products without any luck and finally landed on this for shampoo and conditioner. I used to wash my hair every other day, and now I feel like my hair can last until the 3rd night without wash, it is definitely "cleaner longer" as they claim. My hair looks fuller, shinier and smooth. It also helped with the static I was having during the winter. Definitely sticking to Living proof products, just purchased their control hair spray to for then I do beach waves. ❤️ Oh and PS : I love the smell!

Okay so my boyfriend and I use this shampoo and conditioner. He loves it and so do I. I love the smell and how it makes my hair feel. I personally wash my hair once a week my boyfriend washes his hair 3 times a week. I would say I have more normal to dry hair while he have very oily hair. now the reason I rate it 4 stars and not 5 is because we have been using this shampoo and conditioner for about a year or so and it has helped with my boyfriends oiliness, but he is still washing 3 to 4 times a week. like sure he not washing it everyday but like his hair gets oily from ruts to the tips. so for his hair type maybe he needs to use other products with it to help combat the oiliness I don't know. now for me i love it i don't have many complaints. I do notice that if I don't use a hair mask in a week or my extra strength refreshing scalp+ teatree mint scalp treatment from OGX my hair will get pretty oily by the 6th day of not washing. like I'm talking I take out my pony tail and it keeps the shape, but my tips are so dry. so to fix that I use the scalp treatment maybe 3 times a week and I use leave in conditioner any time my hair is wet. in conguction of doing a oil treatment once a week and the shampoo and conditioner it works great for me. I am keeping my eyes open for other option but for now we like this one and just repurchased the shampoo cause we where out. I keep getting testers of others but i have not found anything that works as great as this dose. hopefully this is helpful for someone.

Soft silky hair!

I love Living Proof products and have previously enjoyed using the volume range however my ends had been feeling quite dry so gave this ago. Has the same amazing smell & made my hair soft and silky. I struggle with oily roots so sometimes worry about using products that are meant to hydrate but this doesn't seem to have made my hair any greasier than normal! Day 1 my hair was silky and soft, day 2 I used a bit of the living proof dry shampoo (which is the best) but wore my hair down and my ends were still soft, I'm now on day 3 and my hair still feels silky, it's just tied up in a bun with extra dry shampoo today! Usually I was my hair every 2 days so I'm really pleased with this and will re-purchase.

Started off great… ended up dry

I received a sample of this in my Beauty Loop Box and was initially very impressed. So much so that I shelled out for a full sized product once I ran out of the sample.I have fine and coloured hair that gets oily very very easily. This was amazing at first - it cleaned my hair beautifully while giving it a bit of volume. It also stayed cleaner looking for longer and I only had to use it every second day instead of every day.However, after a few weeks of regular use my hair became really, really dry and it began to break really easily.
