This is a great product to endure you have no leaking fittings. I sealed the brass fittings for my manual fuel valve when replacing the old one in my 1971 Ford F250.. This is very important so that you have no fuel leaks. It's been in now for about a week and all is good and functional.
I prefer this sealant to Teflon tape for standard NPT threaded metal fittings.
This is the only thread sealant I'm going to be using from now on. I rebuilt an entire 60 galllon 5HP twin cylinder air compressor from the ground up with an auxiliary 80 gallon receiver and pressure tested both tanks without one leak. That pretty much says it all right there. DOPE!!!
This stuff is amazing. As an oilfield worker I have used alot of different thread sealants, tapes and anti-seize for preparing threads. I am in an extreme use environment with corrosive fluids, high pressures and vibrations and with just a tiny bead on the male threads 567 holds up. I have had steel pipes get holes worn in them before these connections leak. Since it sets up after the threads have been tightened you dont have to worry about it drying out or setting up too quickly. The one downside is it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. But with the little bit you need the 250 mL tube will last a long time if you are putting together 2" or less pipes.
I thought that this was very inexpensive compared to other sites that I visited but the description I read was exactly what I needed. Rec'd 50ml tube instead of the 250ml tube that I wanted. Now I've got to re-package it and run it to a Fed-Ex store and wait for my refund
