Loctite Clear Silicone Waterproof Sealant 2.7-Ounce Tube (908570)

I used the product to seal cracks in a birdbath before repainting it. The product worked well. The packaging didn't. From the outset it seemed as if the opening was partially plugged even after I cut a wider tip. The pressure of forcing the adhesive out caused a rupture in the side of the tube which rendered it unusable thereafter. Too bad. I have other items to repair but am very leery of trying this product again.

Purchased to repair sole coming off boot.I have some really good boots that the sole is still in great shape, but the adhesive holding the sole to the boot was coming off, and the sole was pealing down. I wanted to re-adhere it to the shoe, and make it still water proof. This did a great job. I was able to apply plenty of silicone adhesive, and put a bead around the edge to make it waterproof. The only annoying thing, and this is why it is 4 starts and not 5, is cleaning out the spout after using it, since I would like to be able to use it again in the future. For spots that needed a lot of adhesive, but did not need the spout, I just used a Q-tip, or popsicle stick to get a good amount of the material and then spread it.

Bought a new faucet for my kitchen sink. Came with a plastic gasket that goes underneath the stainless baseplate. Directions said to run a bead of silicone around the gasket to seal it to the sink which is why I purchased this loctite silicone. It worked great for what I needed. Only suggestion to anyone else buying is I would kneed the tube for a bit to both warm up and soften the silicone alittle right before you use it because it comes out of the tube 1,000x easier if you do that. Especially if you only need a thin bead and cut the applicator tube at the top it's much harder to force it out of the small hole if you don't soften and warm it first

I used this sealant on the underside gasket of the waste pipe for a bathroom sink that was dripping, and it seems to have stopped the drip. As with most/all silicone products, it can be a bit messy to work with, but it also comes with a clear application tube to apply smaller quantities. The use of disposable gloves when applying the product is suggested. Good product.

The tube was easily removed from the packaging, and was easy to squirt out once the inner metal seal was punctured. The sealant had a strong smell like vinegar, but that went away after it dried. It was nice and clear when it dried, too. It's pretty easy to peel off, so it wouldn't be a good choice for stuff you want stuck together for a long time. But it works good for what it does.

Loctite Clear Silicone Waterproof Sealant in Transparent. I live in Florida and have a Lania that is screened and has glass sliding doors to open. Rain was leaking in where the floor met the bottom metal strip holding the glass sliding doors. I dried off the area and put the clear silicone on & the next time it rained.. it was dry & no rain was coming in on the floor of my Lania/patio. Love it!!! Great product! I am a 72 yr old DIY lady who needs products that you can trust, this is one of my keepers.

Fixed window pane glass that was loose

This product was an excellent choice for us. We had a single pane window glass 3 feet x 2 feet that had come loose in one upper corner due to old sealant adhesive was no longer holding the glass to the aluminum frame surrounding it. We followed manufacturers directions and scraped carefully away all the old sealant, cleaned the aluminum frame and the window glass edges well with alcohol to ensure everything was clean and dry. Once we carefully ran a bead of the Loctite gel, I kept pressure on the glass while my husband duct taped everything to be held tight in place while drying. We waited a day and a half to be safe to carefully pull off duct tape, and the window is now firmly in the aluminum frame. Very happy with Loctite brand Waterproof Sealant Gel. Kitchen Sink

Great product, Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink was leaking water at the top seams. Under the sink was getting a little water and did not know were it was coming from, turns out it was top seams. Put a little all over the top seam and worked it into the seam with a dry finger. Wiped all left over stuff with paper towel. So far no water under the sink.

Perfect seal for my light

Worked great for small sealing of a dive light. Purchased a basic scuba light for my GoPro and wanted some extra protection around the seals to ensure my light did not flood. This Loctite sealant proved to be the perfect solution. Went on smooth, sealed well and the transparent cure allowed me to see if anything was wrong with my light. Will buy again when needed.

I have tried different brands of silicone over the years and most are pretty much the same, with the biggest variation being price. Caulking is a good thing given the caulk holds up and works. I find 100% silicone is very effective in sealing and being waterproof. Lasts.Dries clear like it should. Fills the cracks like caulking is supposed to. A bit goopy, but that's normal The clean up is a bit more than other acrylic caulking, you need mineral spirits. So wear gloves. he only things you have to worry about when using it as a project adhesive: 1. If you're using it to attach things for projects, it can come apart if it takes a sharp blow or falls. I don't recommend it for areas which will be bearing a lot of weight or tension. 2. If you use it attach natural stones to something, be aware that very porous stones like limestone or sandstone may react adversely and dissolve over a few weeks. Silicone is more than caulk. It's also a great adhesive. I used this product to adhere mylar-backed bubble insulation to my garage doors. It sets up quickly and holds most materials. Most importantly, it doesn't get hard, brittle or shrink, so it will last a very very long time.
