This is just perfect in size and usefulness. I like to bake a roast with the potatoes and carrots in with the meat. This is big enough so I can cook a 6lb roast with enough vegetables to finish the meal. The lid allows a good seal so it cooks everything evenly. It is a little work to season it but not too bad. It will be great for years to come.

I love that it retains heat very well. There's nothing like cooking with cast iron. It's VERY versatile as well! You can use it on your stove, oven, grill, and you can even take it camping! Make sure you take a set along with you the next time you go! Oh, don't forget to save the bacon grease too at camp...oooh the eggs that these make! 💜

First, I put this in the oven at 500 for an hour with some oil blend that I mix myself to season. I know it comes pre-seasoned but I decided to do a bit more to it anyway and I'm glad I did. Fried some chicken in it and made a nice roast in it a few days after and it turned out so tasty. There was no sticky residue on the cast iron and it maintained temperature very well. I love how this cooks on my gas stove and that it heats through evenly. Such a great investment to have and multi-purpose.

I use my cast iron dutch oven for so many things. Baked bean, homemade artisan bread.chily and beef stew. I'm looking to buy another one for Christmas. Hint to my hubby. One of the best buy ever. Lodge is a very dependable brand. I have Lodge cast iron pans. I've owned my cast iron for about 15 yrs. Easy to season
I HIGHLY recommend this pot! It is expensive but Lodge Cast Iron is made to last a lifetime, generations even!! Take care of it and season it well. Don't submerge in soapy water, just rinse well after using and use a pan scraper to get in gunk off of the pan. You can use this pan in the oven, over open fire or on most stove tops. Do not use this pan on glasstop stoves as it will just scratch the nice glass up. I love this pan and have cooked in it countless times. I intend to hand it down when I am dead. I love it that much.
OBSESSED. Nothing better than this dutch oven. Yes, enameled is amazing, But this is perfect for roasts, soups, or really anything! It's so versatile and has many uses. I found that tomato products cooked in this taste a bit metallic but other than that, I use this for just about everything else!
I love my seasoned cast iron very much but there is a little dint on it, and I am afraid that it doesn't start rusting there since it is made of iron. Nothing wrong about the product itselt, it may be due to packaging or damaged when it was in transit. The lodge cast iron is the best.
First, Lodge makes the best cast iron cookware, period. Second, this 7 quart Dutch oven is useful for countless cooking tasks, not the least making Sullivan Street bread. It's heavy, yes, and a bit unwieldy as a result, but it makes up for those small deficiencies by being so utilitarian as to be a work of art.
Amazing for big dishes. Love using it. Only issue is the inside of the casserole is difficult to clean and keep seasoned because of the little knobs but can live with that. Whats amazing is that lid is exactly the same size is the large lodge cast iron frying pan- I didnt know that so pleasant 2-for-1!

This Dutch oven is no exception, the day after I got it I cooked a six plus pound pot roast, and needless to say it came out perfect.I would have given this a full five star rating, however, with my last couple Lodge purchases I have noticed that the factory seasoning has not been up to par. In this case, the telltale signs of oxidation appeared immediately after I cleaned it. This is not a big deal for me since I religiously apply an ultra-thin coat of cooking oil to my cast iron immediately after cleaning.
