Out of the box you can tell this is a quality case for your tablet. The case is 2 piece that connects magnetically. The tablet case fits nice and all the cutouts and buttons works flawlessly. I think the back case is made of some type of aluminum which gives me confidence that it will protect my tablet well. I don't know what material the keyboard is made of but it does feel nice. There is a kickstand that is attached to the back of the keyboard giving me many options on which way to keep the tablet up which I really like. There is a cutout for your pen as well. The 2 parts attach and breaks apart with the perfect amount of force in my opinion. The keyboard is where this unit shines though. I love the tactile feel when pressing the keys, it was very satisfying. I love the backlit keyboard which really helped in low light conditions. I love the short cut keys at the top, especially the home page and screenshot buttons. Very convenient when using my tablet. The trackpad was huge and had multi-touch capabilities. My fingers glided over the trackpad with no hiccups. The one thing I didn't know, because I just assumed, was, this case isn't using bluetooth. I found out that it connects to the tablet using the smart pin connector which means its powered by the tablet itself. No need to ever charge the case, very cool. I was told this helped with latency and I really did notice. Every track movement and every press of the keys was very responsive. No lag whatsoever. This Logitech case is a absolute winner and a big thumbs up from me. Made my tablet into a laptop.

The upper right function key was changed from “sleep/lock” to “do-not-disturb.” I’m used to that button providing the sleep/lock function. I would like to have the option to switch this between the two different functions. For those of us loyal users who were used to this, it comes as a surprise when I’m trying to lock my iPad and walk away from the desk. This wont prevent me from enjoying the other features of the keyboard case, but my suggestion for improvement seems like an easy enough fix that does not require a redesign of the hardware. Once prioritized, this should be able to be changed with a firmware update. If Logitech does not provide an acceptable response, I will look for alternatives (now and in the future).

Four and Three Quarters!

I’ve used this keyboard folio now for long enough that I think I can make a reasoned comparison with my old folio (Magic Keyboard). This has similar contact points that draw power from the IPad Pro for the keyboard lighting and to transfer keystrokes from the folio to the iPad. It uses magnets to seal the folio when it’s closed. The kickstand flap on the rear, to support the display when on a desk or table, also have magnets to help hold it closed when it’s not in use. The build quality has so far impressed! The fabric that covers the folio is sealed at the edges of the folio in much the same manner as was done on the Magic Keyboard, but the fabric is MUCH more robust. The build quality has so far impressed! The fabric that covers the folio is sealed at the edges of the folio in much the same manner as was done on the Magic Keyboard, but the fabric is MUCH more robust. The Magic Keyboard had a delicate, thin rubber fabric that proceeded to crack and separate at these edge seals, and the rubber then gradually worked loose and peeled away exposing the inner guts of the Magic Keyboard. I used that folio for years, but it was a taped up mess for all but a few months of its life. Time will tell but first impressions of the fabric on this Logitech folio and the seals at the edges would be: This is like Kevlar compared to Magic Keyboard’s cellophane. It has a nice textured surface that stands up well to hard use. I’m expecting to use this now for the rest of my iPad’s life.I need to explain the four star rating. One star was dropped due to a usability issue that was apparent when comparing how I used the Magic Keyboard vs the Logitech Folio. The Magic Keyboard’s design allows you to easily use it on my lap on the sofa or bed and make use of its keyboard. The Logitech Folio is more dependent on having a flat surface under it so that the kickstand can adequately support the iPad. I include that as part of the review because the Magic Keyboard excelled the Logitech Folio in that one characteristic and that would be the only one! For further comparison, if I was rating the Magic Keyboard here, It would get a two or three star rating, dragged down severely due to its poor fit and finish quality. I felt I had to knock off something on the Logitech but was only allowed to rate in whole stars. Honestly, it’s more of a four and three quarters in my mind.

I wanted to love this, BUT…

…it was totally unusable. I had the previous generation of this combo touch keyboard case for my 2021 iPad Pro. It was incredible. Flawless. So when I got my 2024 iPad Pro, it was a no-brainer for me to get this updated combo touch case. However, Logitech’s attempts at updating it seemed a bit rushed. Not only do I agree with other reviews, saying that it is a fingerprint magnet, because it very much is! But also, because they increased the trackpad size, it’s hardly usable when typing documents. I have medium sized hands as a middle-aged male. As I am typing on this keyboard, the inside of my palms will start to click the trackpad, causing the cursor to go elsewhere on the screen and type the other half of what I am typing, in another other part of the document. ... More…it was totally unusable. It’s exhausting having to constantly go back and correct for this. The only way to type on this without that clicking issue is to hover your hand over the trackpad, which puts a lot of strain on your wrists over time. I would avoid this and go for the Apple magic keyboard.

Nice improvement on previous model
3 October 2024

It's pretty much known that this is the best productivity keyboard case for the iPad. I had the previous model Combo Touch and thought it was a really great keyboard case to have. This one has a few updates from that version which I think makes it a bit nicer than previous models but still remain the best of the keyboard cases out there. The previous one had a linen/cloth type cover on it. It looked nice and felt nice but it tended to fray and get scratched up. This is, of course, dependent on how you used and it such. This new model is leathery type cover to it so it's much smoother, and looks a little better than before. The base case is a hard plastic which should make for better protection. This new model is leathery type cover to it so it's much smoother, and looks a little better than before. The base case is a hard plastic which should make for better protection. One of the biggest complaints of the old model was the cut outs for the speakers and cable would distort. Seems on this model, it feels a bit more solid so here's hoping it holds up better than its predecessor did.The keyboard itself is pretty much the same as old models. Great layout and easy to type on. I feel the trackpad looks a bit bigger than it did on the older ones but not 100% positive on that. That said, it feels nicer and a bit more roomy than the older one was. What I really like about this case is its versatility. With pretty much all keyboard cases, you have to use the keyboard in that specific configuration. There's no using it while laying down or on-the-go. You basically have a portable iPad laptop. But with this case, you can use the keyboard or not thanks to the ability to detach the keyboard from the case. Like that, then you can use the iPad as a normal tablet and, when needed, you can simply attach the keyboard to the case if you need it in more productive configuration.Pretty sure other case manufacturers will follow suit with some variant of this but, for me, this is the best overall case setup for your iPad. Really like the functionality of it and its versatility.

I own numerous Logitech devices: mice, keyboards, and iPad combos. I have enjoyed them all as they are reliable and lasting. However, the Combo Touch for iPad Pro M4 13” lacks this trait. So much so that I removed the M4 iPad from its Logitech case and am now typing this review using a case from another manufacturer. There are mainly two issues I have with Logitech’s Combo Touch iPad Pro for M4 13”. The keys do not feel right. The keys seem to feel flat and there is more resistance than usual compared to other keyboards; even their own past keyboards. It takes a little more effort than usual to type out a word and sentence. I tried to adapt but it is just too much, for me anyway, to get used to. They simply slowed me down too much, and eventually got me frustrated that I don’t want to use it. In a nutshell, it is not inviting nor fun to type on. Related to the additional pressure needed to type, on observing the keyboard it is noticed the entire keyboard has a tendency to flex, for lack of a better word, when typing. It reminds me of cheaper keyboards that bowed, if that helps to visualize this. Quite literally, if I press down on the N key, I can see the letters B, V, C, and the spacebar move, or flex. This should not occur because it appears to affect typing speed also. It feels cheaply made, which is something I am not used to coming from Logitech. It is as if this was rushed to market without going through some thorough quality checks. The second point that is frustrating, though not as much as the keyboard, is the kickstand on the back. They did a splendid job of making it flush with the rest of the unit when closed. Maybe they did too good of a job! It takes more attention than I would like to actually find a location on the kickstand to grab to extend it out. This is not a big deal, but having just a tiny lip on a small portion of the kickstand would have been useful. As it is, you really have to spend several seconds, even look at what you’re doing, to find a spot to grab to extend it out. If you don’t cut your fingernails too short, you should be fine, since that is the most effective way to find that slit between the kickstand and the main body to separate the two. The reason I purchased this was its desirable feature of being able to stand the iPad up when separated from the keyboard. It does a good job of that, but since the keyboard, to me, is frustratingly useless due to the reasons above, I might as well have purchased a case without a keyboard that provides the ability to prop the iPad at a fraction of the cost. That is basically all I have now with this purchase. I am disappointed because Logitech has always produced high quality devices. It is simply not the case here.

This is the best iPad keyboard folio on the market. Logitech Combo Touch for iPad Pro surpasses Apple’s own product with two significant features: a detachable keyboard and an enclosure which protects the iPad’s screen edge.Yet, the folio for 13-inch iPad Pro (M4) fails to earn a five star rating. The „graphite” material, which is the only option for 13-inch iPad Pro, is a fingerprint magnet. One cannot help but wonder why Logitech opted for this smooth material instead of keeping the far superior textured „oxford grey” laminate. Nevertheless, when compared to other brands, Logitech’s product is by far superior.

Slippery, not grippy, easy to drop

I bought this to replace an Apple Smart Keyboard Folio that I had for a few years, after the cover was wearing out. This Logitech keyboard folio has a few nice features. It looks great, very professional. In horizontal position, the keyboard works great (better than the Apple) and it has a trackpad. It seems it will protect the iPad well (but not the pen). The cover does not fold (like the Apple) so you can hold it like a book.Bottom line: I feel like I have wasted $180 on this folio cover, with its very significant downsides. Most importantly, the material is slippery. It is very difficult to hold this without dropping it. I dropped it twice in the first 3 days, compared to never dropping my iPad in the Apple folio in more than 3 years. It is also heavier than the Apple, making it more likely to be dropped. Why do we all go buy covers for our smooth iPhones and iPads? So that we have a more grippy surface to hold onto them. I feel this product failed at its #1 job.Other less significant issues:- It is hard to open since the cover closely meets the iPad edge. There is hardly a place to fit a finger under the cover- When holding it vertically with the cover open, the iPad virtual keyboard sometimes displays and sometimes doesn't. There does not seem to be a setting to control this. The keyboard should only be "on" in horizontal orientation- While the kickstand in the back allows positioning at any angle, it is actually less usefulI tried to return it because of its flawed choice of material that has no grip. Best Buy would not accept a return since the 2 drops resulted in a very tiny tear in the case. I realize accepting damaged merchandise is not in their policy. However, I thought it was warranted since the poor design was the root cause of the damage.

Love this for a full-scale keyboard/trackpad case. It's sturdy, the keys feel right, the case is protective, and it simply works.Suggestion-- can someone make a Slim Folio keyboard folio for the new iPad Pro (M4)'s? Since Apple discontinued the Smart Keyboard Folio, there's no product that is super lightweight and compact without the trackpad etc. I want something minimalist and don't use the trackpad.I tried the old Smart Keyboard Folio-- it's not just the magnets, it is fully disabled even if you could make something work. And the old Smart Keyboard can't connect with the new smart connector. So there's literally no product out there.FYI-- I did a real-world weight comparison:- iPad M1 11-inch w/ Apple Smart Keyboard Folio: 23.1 ounces- iPad M4 11-inch w/ ... MoreLove this for a full-scale keyboard/trackpad case.
