Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 11" M4 - Graphite

I don’t enjoy this as much as I’d like, and unfortunately it primarily due to the keyboard cover. It’s to flimsy and thin, and if using on a surface that isn’t practically firm, like the top of a bed, your lap, or the edge of a sofa, places I’ve never had issues using the multiple variations of the Magic Keyboard with both and m1 iPad Pro and the current m4. The surface materials also feel oddly cheep in the palm rests, and the diving board trackpad has a tendency to get false touches form my palms. The trackpad does feel larger than that on the Magic Keyboard, but it’s not nearly as nice. The keys themselves feel good, but not great. Its to large into the palm rest and the click feels unsatisfying with no real auditable or tactical feed back. The shining part of this though is the upper case. The firm yet flexible plastic makes the iPad feel secure,and cuttouts are appropriate and accurate. Its also doesn’t add nearly as much c as I expected. Overall feel of the material isn’t amazing though, it’s a similar uncomfortable plastic that feels like a cheaper imitation of the the soft touch material apple uses on first accessories. The kickstand while solid enough, doesn’t instill confidence that it’ll hold up over time. That brings me to the question and obvious comparison. How does this generation of combo touch (MSRP $259) stack up against the first party Magic Keyboard (MSRP $349). I think it’s safe to say Apple’s accessory pricing is ridiculous, so I cant fault anyone for looking for a full featured alternative, however, for as bad a value as the Magic Keyboard is, it feels premium, especially with the updated aluminum top case on the keyboard side. The experience using the combo touch as I would the Magic Keyboard leaves a lot to be desired. I”d honestly rather use the performs gen as i dont get weird false touches and such an overall poor typing experience, which is a bit of a let down as I tend to really enjoy logitechs keyboards from a layout sand feel standpoint. This turns the iPad Pro into more a Surface pro in terms of layout and untiltiy, and i think if you’re looking more so for a good case that happens to have a full keyboard and trackpad. Don’t get this for the keyboard and trackpad unless you’ll use it exclusively on a hard, level surface like a table or desk. If you want a really good typing experience in an all in one form factor the apple offering is substationally better, and the 90 dollar difference feels much more worthwhile If typing isn’t a focus, but more a bonus, it’s worth considering from a perspective that you get to utilize the smart connect to power the backlight of the keyoard, and dont have to worry about pairing of battery drain of a Bluetooth keyboard. This is very much a product that prioritizes the iPad as a table over a laptop replacement, and i fthats your focus, this and an Apple Pencil Pro will be a fantastic combination.

Given the charging ports built in to the iPad Pro, having a stand alone bluetooth keyboard may be a solution, but it can also be a pain as it will not maintain a charge through the iPad, meaning one more charging cable to carry around. Additionally, the iPad needs to be propped up (unless you want to use the iPad flat on a desk, your lap, or some other surface).Apple does make a case/keyboard combo that works great and really bridges the gap between laptop and iPad. The Combo Touch has a case that envelops the sides and back of the iPad. While I did not subject my personal iPad to a drop test to see just how good the protection is, I am fairly confident it is better than with Apple's solution as this case goes around the entirety of the iPad (as opposed to just magnetically attaching to the back of the iPad without any protection for the sides/edges. The Logitech Combo Touch also has a kickstand off the rear that allows for positioning of the iPad vertically (you can stand it up, just as it shows in the picture). One other feature of the Combo Touch is that the keyboard can be completely removed or folded back so that the iPad can be used without the keyboard. Also, when attached, the keyboard is powered by the iPad itself, so no separate charging concerns exist.The problem that arises, however, is that the flexibility to remove the keyboard also diminishes the functionality of. the Combo Touch when trying to use it with an iPad in a laptop fashion. The Combo Touch must be used on a flat surface that has ample space to accommodate the keyboard (and the kickstand off the rear). Personally, this means no using it in bed because I cannot set the unit down on my lap without it falling over. I also cannot use it on an airplane because the trays are too short and, as I just mentioned, I also cannot place it on my lap without it falling over. (This is not a problem with Apple's solution, however, as the hinge mechanism results in the iPad resting over the keyboard, which serves as the base of the iPad in quasi-laptop mode, for lack of a better thing to call it.)The top row of function keys on the Combo Touch are also just slightly different than included in Apple's solution. This is not a big deal, personally. The user just has to be familiar with the function keys on his or her particular solution and go from there.The keyboard is comfortable to type on and the touchpad works well. Again, on a flat surface with adequate room, the Combo Touch works great. If your surface is not flat/stable, however, there are issues.

Right after I bought the new iPad Pro 13" M4 I decided to get a keyboard case for it. I bought a very inexpensive keyboard case online and when I got it I couldn't believe how heavy it made my iPad. When I want to sit back and read from the iPad, I remove the keyboard and the iPad is just a little heavier than a bare iPad. It does add protection to the back and edges of the iPad though. The back of the iPad case has a flap that sticks magnetically to the back of the case and can be opened so it acts as a stand for the iPad with or without the keyboard attached.The previous keyboard required charging it separately using a USB-C charger whereas this Logitech case charges the keyboard when the iPad is charging since it is connected to the iPad using the little pin connectors. The keyboard is illuminated and has a row of function keys that will control the brightness and volume of the iPad, advance pause or reverse audio tracks, activate Siri, take a screenshot, and turn on do not disturb. When using the trackpad, a small gray circle moves around on the screen like a mouse cursor so you can click on things rather than click on the screen and you can even draw using the trackpad in an art app.The case of course has the cutout holes for the mics and speakers and buttons that let you change the volume if you are using the case without the keyboard attached.This case really turned my iPad into a full fledged laptop and sells for a lot less than the Apple branded one. I'm really loving it.

I noticed when I put the case on to the iPad Pro, there were three metal connectors touching the iPad Pro which were also present where the keyboard connected to the case, so the keyboard does not appear to need to be charged separately in order to be used (which I was used to on other tablet keyboards i’ve used). You can find this setting under Settings->General->Trackpad.The keyboard features backlit keys which is useful if you type in the dark. There are keys which adjust the brightness of the key backlighting. The keyboard keys were very natural for me to adjust to, coming from being used to a MacBook air keyboard. It’s also terrific that the keyboard magnetically detaches from the case for when you just want to use it as a tablet (for example, setting up a presentation you may want the keyboard/trackpad, but giving the presentation you may want to go without it).While there is no obvious place to store an Apple Pencil Pro, there is an area you can magnetically clip the pencil to the side of the iPad Pro (the case allows that). The pencil seems to hold securely, though you might need to worry about tapping it against something and losing the pencil. I would’ve preferred if this had a slot which held the Pencil Pro in place to reduce the likelihood of losing the Pencil Pro. I may deduct 1 star from the rating because there is no place to secure an apple pencil in storage, only the magnetic hold built into the iPad.Other than the Pencil carrying issues (and I don’t use mine daily anyway), I would easily otherwise recommend this keyboard, and expect I will get a lot of daily use out of it. The Logitech Combo Touch keyboard case will let me use the iPad Pro in ways I previously could not.

THIS… Is the Logitech Combo Touch, a nifty case/keyboard/trackpad combo that I have honestly quickly fallen in love with. I was skeptical with the trackpad and the way that it would integrate with the flow of the iPad and honestly…if you are only going to use your laptop for multimedia use then this is honestly the best path forward. The mousepad works great on almost all applications where it makes sense, and genuinely turns my iPad into a laptop while also being the size of a laptops which was really nice to not have to adjust to a small trackpad. The key switches are also really nice for such a slim profile, allowing a nice press and click without being over the top.I do have a bone to pick with the backlighting or really how much it doesn’t light up. Speaking of heft, this case/combo only weighs about 16oz which honestly in the hands isn't too bad. One of my favorite parts about the case was the adjustable built in kickstand! I am not the biggest fan of where I have to put my fingers to get it to pop out, but once it is kicked out, it is really nice and moderately adjustable even when it is resting on my lap. Another cool feature I enjoyed was being able to take the keyboard off and just use the iPad for iPad activities rather seamlessly. I really found that this keyboard skyrocketed productivity on my iPad and kept me using it more and more often, and even when I wasn't using the keyboard, just having a kickstand all the time is awesome.From build quality to functionality I think Logitech has really hit this one out of the park, and even though I have a few things that could be better, at this price it is really hard to argue that this isn’t the best case. I used this on my 5th gen iPad air, so you can rest assured that this fits more than just the M4 iPad's!

First, aesthetically speaking, this Combo Touch has some changes to it from the previous models, feeling noticeably lighter to me, even with the iPad being the smaller version, the density feels less. I think part of this is that the material surface doesn’t feel padded like previous versions. This version has a rubbery texture, with no real padding to speak of, but I think this is part of the reason for the less weight feeling. This makes the keyboard on the inside a very rigid experience, which is good, but the metal being exposed on the outside is an odd choice to me. It’s the only real part that is not covered. Both materials also show fingerprints pretty easily, and being a charcoal gray to black color, that means this does show fingerprints most of the time. Opening up the case is pretty similar to previous versions. The kickstand on the back of the part that holds the iPad is sturdy, and I find it very supportive. It also doesn’t wobble or anything when open, so it feels high quality. The iPad inserts into this part, and forms a lip around the screen, and while this has advantages, I have been worried that it will cause my screen protector to bubble up. Hasn’t yet, but they touch. There is a cutout for the pencil to attach, and it’s a comfortable fit. The keyboard has a great key travel and feels comfortable as well. The function row has shortcut keys and since this attached by magnets, they are very easy to see and access. There is a home key where the ESC key would be, and it goes home when you don’t have a need to escape something, for instance if you have a menu open in an app, that key will back out of the menu, then hitting it again takes you to the Home Screen. The trackpad is large and sensitive. it is a click everywhere type, and is a mechanical action as opposed to a haptic feedback. Some will love this, some won’t. I don’t mind either way as long as you can click at the top and get the same actions as when you click at the bottom. This is a powered through the iPad device, so no charging is needed. It attaches to the other piece that holds the iPad, so to use the keyboard you have to use the back for the iPad, rather than just using the keyboard wirelessly or attached without the cover. Performance wise I find the keys great, but I’m noticing what I think is a software issue where it either ignores my typing or it types something else. I also notice at times the trackpad will register a touch and I have the click touch option off in settings. For this reason and the easy fingerprint issue, I would consider this a decent keyboard, pretty protective case, and versatility, that needs a few updates and possibly improved materials next go round.

The cover texture the case is made of, is a material reminiscent of the Apple cases. However, this material marks fingerprints very quickly. Cleaning it is not so easy and once it is done, it is a matter of minutes for fingerprints to be present again. In the case of the keyboard being somewhat similar, the plastic material of the cover has a finish, which despite being matte, fingerprints are marked too much. Compared to the previous version, where the material covering the case and keyboard is made of fabric, this version may leave a little to be desired in this regard, although it is also a matter of taste. Despite these changes, the design in terms of form remains practically unchanged. At the top (in landscape mode) there is a space in the continuity of the contour of the case where the Apple Pencil Pro or a compatible Pencil is stored. The case covers well the ipad contours and part of the screen. In my case, the screen protector leaves enough space to fit the case well with the iPad.The keyboard has practically the same layout as an Apple keyboard, only three keys change in the shortcuts at the top. The search button and show/hide keyboard are replaced by a dictation button and a screenshot button, and finally the screen lock button is replaced by the one to activate/deactivate the Focus function on the iPad, for greater concentration, a change that I personally wanted a lot, thanks Logitech. The keyboard backlit is adjustable, something that is appreciated. The touchpad is a perfect size, made of rigid plastic but with a very smooth finish that allows you to slide your fingers without any problem. Clicking is very easy, not too much pressure is needed and it responds very fast.The keyboard in daily use seems to me a comfortable keyboard, quiet, accurate and with a pleasant finish to the touch keys. It has good adjustable lighting, useful shortcuts, and a layout easy to use for Apple users.Personally I like it a lot, it feels more comfortable than the previous version which in itself is good.The case with the keyboard attached works like a conventional case folder, turning the screen on or off when opened and closed respectively. It can be used without the keyboard with one hand or on a surface to view multimedia content or in a comfortable position to write or draw on the iPad.In daily use, I can say that the experience is very similar to the previous version. The difference is that by the very nature of the iPad M4, it is lighter than the previous one. And because of the materials this case keyboard is made of, it does not make it a very heavy iPad, it is actually a reasonable weight.In summary, if you, like me, have been looking for a solid case that protects your iPad but can also be used as a keyboard, that can be used without the keyboard, that can be placed in different positions, compatible with Apple Pencil pro, that allows you to use with one hand and that despite being folder type does not feel bulky or have unnecessary straps or snaps that prevent you from using your device comfortably, this case keyboard is a good investment. I consider that in the market there are many options at different prices but it is a little difficult to find a device as versatile and functional as this one. I can recommend it without a doubt, its price is worth it.

As a previous owner of this keyboard/case for my old M2 iPad Pro, I was happy to see this come out for the M4 considering I have since upgraded to the M4 and I could not be happier. This has a leg up on the Magic Keyboard in a few different ways which I will list later on. For the device itself, as with the previous iteration, it is powered by the smart connector pins and features a removable keyboard and there are 4 different ways/viewing angles to use, depending on what you need it for on any given day. Personally I use it as the standard layout (keyboard attached, stand extended) or stand extended but keyboard removed for media consumption. On to the pros and cons:Pros:-The trackpad is very responsive has a tactile feel to it so when you press down, you will feel the click- The trackpad is about 1 1/2 times the size, both in height and in width, of the official offering from Apple (which I also have) and somehow they managed to keep the part with the keys the same size-the previous generation had a fabric covering all around which was not exactly liquid proof but this time around they used the same silicone material on the back/kickstand as Apples and under the keyboard flap, it is a hard material (aluminum maybe?) with a silicone bumper surrounding it. This gives it a sturdier feel AND allows for easier cleaning.- It does feel and appear a little thinner compared to the last model. This could be from the iPad itself being thinner as well-function keys are similiar to the Magic Keyboard but the location of the keys is a bit differentand now the cons:-As with last offering, Logitech does not include anything on the top/side of the Combo Touch that will assist in holding the pencil in place. Numerous times I had slipped it into my bag only to find it would popped off. Sure there are 3rd party things you can buy (which I did) that slide between the iPad and the back cover and help prevent accidently knock offs, but it would have been nice to see something built in-The kickstand is both a boon and a hindrance. If you are tight on space, this might cause a problem if you need the kickstand extended fully but if you can afford the space, it adds a stability that the new Magic Keyboard does not have (the USB-C hinge charging port also adds a wobble when you apply any sort of pressure onto the screen)Overall, this will be my go to case for a long time to come. It offers great protection all around, 4 different viewing angles, helpful function keys AND the big one, a price point I like.

Redesigned for the thinner latest-generation iPads, it continues to offer a few things I love about the Combo touch sets:- Native Apple Smart Connector support: No fiddling g with separate battery charging or Bluetooth. This works just like an Apple genuine accessory with native PIN connection to the tablet- Excellent Logitech keyboard and touchpad: The generations where they’ve included a touchpad with the keyboard are excellent. This year is no exception. The key travel and typing feel are on-par with Logi’s reputation in this space.- Innovative detachability of the keyboard: This being an iPad case, I really like the detachability of the keyboard that leaves the case as a nice sturdy iPad case with kickstand when typing isn’t needed. It also provides reversibility to make the keyboard cover just part of the tent mode for movie watching out of the way.No review would be complete, without countering these niceties with the many issues I have with Logi’s latest offering though:- The new detachable keyboard feels more flimsy than previous at-bats for Logi. It’s not cheap, but not as cork and robust as previous generations.- Like the new iPad Pro (I have the nano-glass version) this new Combo case is a fingerprint magnet too!! Why did Logi abandon their woven/wool texture for this roughened plastic aesthetic that collects seemingly permanent fingerprints and requires me to wet wipe down the device a few times a day - Isn’t the point of good protection and style gear to avoid this?- The kickstand form factor is WAY less lap-able than Apples own keyboard: While Apples keyboard is almost twice as expensive, in this latest generation, they’ve nailed the “overhang” ratio and it’s so easy now to lap the Magic Keyboard, balanced and aligned properly. This Logi offering turns my iPad into a Surface Pro of sorts - Flimsy keyboard hinge and thin kickstand make it only possible to use on larger flat tabletops or desks. With the kickstand and flat keyboard approach, it also requires more depth than competing solutions overall.- my final gripe is perhaps the biggest of all: Logi designed a really nice magnetic closure into this setup that seems to use the iPad’s built-in magnetic closure which is great - But they failed to put any gaps into the design for pulling the keyboard or kickstand open when going to use it! There’s no tab area or gap for your finger to reach in and pull the kickstand open or detach the keyboard when it’s acting as the screen cover when fully folded. I keep stressing the joint of the kickstand by pulling it off too aggressively or slowly wearing a notch into the one side where I’m always picking at it to open it, and I know I’m prematurely wearing the keyboard at its link point by sliding it around away from its magnetic clasp to get it to open sometimes.Two steps forward with great support for this gen’s iPad, but a few very regrettable steps back. If you love the Surface-esque vibe this puts off it’ll serve you well, just be prepared with a tool to open it and have a deep tabletop ready and your cleaning cloth when you do.

[Rewarded Review] Worthy competitor to the Magic Keyboard

Coming from the Apple Magic Keyboard, which I used on my three previous generation iPad Pro 12.9, I was hesitant to change anything with my routine. I was especially hesitant because I generally trust Apple OEM products but when I heard that Logitech, a company that I know puts out good products, was taking a fully integrated stab at the keyboard market for iPad, I dove right in.The most obvious difference between my Magic Keyboard and the Logitech Combo Touch is that the keyboard is detachable, and the back case stays on my iPad at all times. The Logitech case stays attached to my iPad, offering edge protection when not using the keyboard, with all proper port openings, magnetic connections, and a slot for my Apple Pencil to magnetically charge.The touchpad feels similarly responsive to the Magic Keyboard and the keyboard/backlight are equally useable, but the touchpad on the Logitech is significantly larger - maybe double the size. I never had any problem with the Magic Keyboard touchpad but bigger is better in this case. The two cases look almost identically sized. Of note, there's no integrated charging port on the Logitech like there is on the Magic Keyboard, which gives you a place to plug in the USB-C cable on the hinge. You'll have to plug in your iPad via the normal port, which isn't as sleek as having the wire sticking out of the corner when using on a desk.The only major thing I like better about the Magic Keyboard is the way that the floating hinge works. It brings the iPad screen closer to my face right behind the keyboard and that little bit of elevation makes using it on a desk slightly more comfortable. On an airplane, it also means that you'll end up with more space to use it. The depth of the Magic Keyboard in use is significantly smaller. Also, anyone who uses the Magic Keyboard knows that it doesn't have much play in terms of viewing angle, even though it generally doesn't feel like a detriment because the small range seems like it's perfect no matter where I'm using it. For some people, the Logitech's kickstand might be a positive, as it gives you a much bigger range of viewing angles.All in all, I'm happy with the keyboard because it's more important to me to have a case on it when I'm using it without the keyboard. The edge protection when it's in my bag is another huge positive for me.
