A Fun Way to Light Up Your Streams

The 'swivel hinge' was quite stiff at first, so I was very careful holding onto the light to adjust its position. This feature is great. Something else that's really handy is that there are cord minders built-in to the stand and base itself. Now, connecting the light to my laptop via Bluetooth was a bit of a challenge. Plus, if you have other Lightsync devices, you can synchronize them.Logiech G Hub settings include - cool/warm temperature and brightness sliders, presets, animations for light effects, as well as, the awesome RGB Lightsync. Along with the option to create your own freestyle personalization of the RGB color light bar.You can even choose to activate your light and webcam at the same time (though I have this feature disabled). If you have more than one type of camera, you are also able to choose which one to have active. You can have both sides of this Logitech Litra Beam LX on at same time, or just the one. I spent time fine-tuning the 'cool/warm' side to better match my natural skin tone. But it was also fun to know that if I wanted to intentionally create a certain "otherworldly" look via light effects, I could do that too. When compared to the standard 'ring lights' many streamers use by default, I can honestly say that this "bar style" light is by far superior, in my opinion. The Litra Beam LX's slim, streamlined design allows you to fit the light wherever works best for you.One of the things I was concerned with, was if this light would get 'hot' while streaming. A friend has a different brand but similar type of light, and theirs does get overly warm in a short amount of time. I was relieved to find that this Logitech Litra Beam LX did not heat up the air around the laptop on my desk, and wasn't at all too warm to touch. So far, I'm loving my new Logitech G Litra Beam LX Dual-Sided RGB Streaming Key Light. It's totally awesome, both for streamers and as a super cool (or warm) light for people wanting to create a unique visual environment around their desk space.

So I've run through a few different light setups including Lume and Logitech's other offerings, but this was the first one where I felt like I'd finally found the "best" light for video calls. The front diffuser really makes it easy to set it up higher than your monitors and then tilt it downwards so you have lighting washing over your face BUT since it's a bar and not a pinpoint light, you get even illumination versus some interesting shadows on one side of your face. Plus with the ability to change the light temperature, you can find something that works best for you. (Side note: This puts out significantly less heat them my similar lighting setups. Granted the hotter ones in comparison have a more condensed housing (think 4" square) but the rest of my lights were ... MoreSo I've run through a few different light setups including Lume and Logitech's other offerings, but this was the first one where I felt like I'd finally found the "best" light for video calls. Granted the hotter ones in comparison have a more condensed housing (think 4" square) but the rest of my lights were always something I wanted to turn off after a video call and this one I frequently leave on with no discomfort. In addition, the pure flexibility is a welcome addition. By placing it sideways and attaching in the center, you have a great under monitor or over monitor light that's easy tilted in the right direction. With the significantly weighted base, you can set it to the side of the monitor or directly behind. Then if you attach it on the end, you can twist the light so it's more angled or just use two of them on each side of the monitor to provide true full coverage illumination. The height extension possibility is super appreciated because it was tall enough to be viewable above my 34" monitor which was why previously I'd used the little lights that hook onto the edges of the monitor. The RGB function is the last super fun bonus. The back side of the light has RGB capabilities and it's nice to get that extra use without adding more equipment. You can setup the backlight as an extension of the colors of your monitor background and it just really ups the looks of the entire setup especially if you're going to be streaming.

The front-facing side provides adjustable color temperature settings from 2700-6500K, as well as variable brightness to adjust to your needs depending on placement, but the back side also gives you a full-range RGB “LightSync” to enhance your gaming and streaming.Starting with the forward-facing lighting, the huge advantage over standard ring lighting is its lower profile, being a single, low-profile bar measuring only 1.5” tall while giving you 16” of lighting width, so you avoid the size issue with the full diameter rings without sacrificing lighting diffusion or quality. The diffuser panel over the light surface does an excellent job of spreading the light as if it were a full ring to get a full spread of light, so your entire face is well lit during livestreams. The accompanying Logitech G-Hub software also allows you automatically set the light to activate anytime the camera turns on (and off when the camera turns off), so no more manually finding buttons on the light each time, which I absolutely LOVED. This works with ANY camera, not just Logitech cameras – it worked with the built-in camera on my laptop, though I am working with a separate Logitech HD C920 camera for better quality. And while you technically don’t need the software to make the light work, settings for the rear LightSync require it.The rear RGB panel has a variety of modes, from just random flashing patterns you can choose pattern styles and colors with, to screen sync modes that select sectors of your screen and choose the projected colors based on your screen, to an audio visualizer that will flash change colors based on the beats of the music or the game you’re playing. You can set multiple different profiles in the software, for example one for each game, so if you want one game to have a certain color pattern and another to play with an audio visualizer, you can have that automatically set in the G-Hub. The software detects the game you’ve launched and chooses the appropriate profile and sets the colors accordingly. Of course, you can also choose to have no back lighting colors if you’re in a more professional environment, as well. The light is mounted on a weighted, height-adjustable base, and can be mounted vertically or horizontally, and easily adjusted to sit above my 22” monitor plus clear the webcam mounted on top of the monitor. The light attaches to the base with a tripod-style mounting screw, and if you want to change from horizontal to vertical mount, you’ll have to unscrew the mount and screw it into the mount on the end of the light. The light is powered with a standard 110V plug, and also comes with a USB-C/USB-A cord if you want to use the LightSync capabilities (not required, key settings can technically be controlled from the buttons on the device itself, except for the auto on/off and LightSync options).Note alsoThe only one issue I have with the light is they provide a single clip on the light for wiring, yet there are 2 wires that have to run down the light (power and USB). They cheat and account for this with a rubber clip on the power wire to clip the USB wire to, and I really would have liked to have seen them put a second dedicated clip on the device itself for cable management instead of cheating like that.Bottom line: This is a GREAT replacement for ring lights, one that takes up far less space, is much more configurable, and works automatically when you activate your camera. Kudos, Logitech.

Easy Set-Up with Incredible Light Controls/Options

The Logitech Litra Beam LX (Dual-Sided Light) is part of their "Logitech G Gaming Gear" portfolio. This item, specifically, builds on their standard Litra Beam product except that this item has lighting that is backwards facing that provides ambient lighting as well.SETUP/STAND - Set up is super easy and no tools are necessary as the mount was designed with a hand twist screw in the bottom and the light itself is just screwed onto the mount in the two different configuration options; It comes with a surprisingly sturdy base which holds the light bar horizontally or like a traditional table lamp. The way I view these configurations is that the standard way is to provide proper facial illumination while offering a way for ambient back lighting as well (I'd say this would be a way to consolidate a standard ring light + something like a Hue Play light). The second configuration in the more "traditional" lamp setting would be for something like product lighting if you're taking photos or even just as a standard downlight for your keyboard. It's also important to note (as most photos online don't show this) but while mounted, there's actually a pivot point right at the junction so that the light isn't always fixed in one position - e.g. with the light facing you, you can also pivot it upwards or a little downwards so that it's not directly pointed into your eyes.FRONT FACING LIGHT - this actually provides a huge range in color temperatures from 2700K to 6500K, which allows for a good range of cold to warm illumination, depending on what sort of vibe you're going for. It's rated for 400 lumens, which is more than sufficient for something that's facing you. Any more and it will absolutely become far too blinding. It uses their TrueSoft Technology, which allows for color accuracy and light diffusion, which gets rid of awkward shadows. Good, diffused lighting is crucial for clear and attractive visuals when streaming for games/conference calls/video chat/etc.BACK LIGHT (LIGHTSYNC RGB) - The backlighting is incredible! I have my monitors up against a white wall so the ambient lighting is great for illuminating it in various colors - 16 million color combinations, in fact. The light itself is good but configuring it in the Logi G Hub app REALLY makes it shine (pun intended). I think a lot of these settings and customizations have been migrated over from Logitech's light-up gaming keyboards and they work just as well with the Litra Beam LX. The LIGHTSYNC effects include Pulsar Point, Fixed, Breathing, Color Cycle, and Color Wave. There's a lot of room for customization here, which was way more than I was expecting. One of the more interesting options is to have the software read the color of your computer desktop and project that lighting scheme to the back, which offers some continuity/diffusion of the colors beyond the confines of your screen. My one other gripe, which is somewhat related to not having a top monitor mount, is that when fully extended to it's maximum height, the Litra Beam LX is still to short to go above my current monitor set up- the top of my monitors is just at 25" (2 x 32" monitors on floating monitor arms). Just keep that in mind.

Effective lighting, RGB is a nice touch

## DesignThe Logitech G Litra Beam LX Streaming Key Light is definitely an upgrade from your standard ring light. Instead of a ring, the Litra Beam LX is a linear array of LEDs diffused nicely to provide a soft, pleasing glow. The light can be used either vertically (so you can set it beside your monitor) or horizontally. There are also RGB lights on the back that add a splash of color to the wall, but it is really for your benefit as your streaming camera will likely be pointed at you along with the light, so the RGBs from the Litra Beam will be out of frame. The Litra Beam LX requires some easy assembly and comes with a nice, heavy base to help prevent it from tipping over easily. The height is also adjustable so you can place it above your monitor.## Features- RGB lights on back: One of the major features that sets this apart from your typical ring light is the colorful RGB LEDs on the back of this light. This can cast some color against a wall in front of you, but since this would most likely be out of the frame of your camera, it's not really beneficial to your audience.- TrueSoft Technology: This refers to the diffused LEDs that helps you achieve color accuracy while eliminating shadows.- G Hub Control: If you have other Logitech G LIGHTSYNC periphels, such as keyboard and headset, you should be able to sync them up with the G Hub software via Bluetooth or the included USB-C cable. This wasn't ready at the time of this review, so I didn't get a chance to try this out.## PerformanceThe light performs very well and it is easy to control with physical hardware buttons on the unit itself (and hopefully via software in the future). The stepless brightness and "warmth" setting allows you to find the ideal setting for your camera. I do kind of wish there was either a wired or wireless remote to more easily turn it on and off as needed without needing to load up the software. For example: if you're using this for work, it would be nice if there was a quick way to turn it on if a co-worker calls me.## SummaryThe Logitech G Litra Beam LX performs well while taking up less space than a ring light. It's ideal if you're already in the Logitech G ecosystem, but can also be controlled manually with the physical buttons located on the unit.

Excellent mix of practicality and flash!
5 October 2023

I have been using the Logitech Litra Beam LX for a while now and it has been an excellent experience! I can easily use it for work, content creation, and streaming! The setup is incredibly easy, just unbox the key light, screw everything down with the 1/4-inch fasteners in the base and stand into the light, plug it into power, and you're ready to go out of the box. You don't even need to connect it to your computer with USB-C or Bluetooth to use it, though you do have those options for further flexibility and ease of use, too. The most ingenious thing about this light for me is not that it's dual sided, but that the controls on the device are so intuitive! The most ingenious thing about this light for me is not that it's dual sided, but that the controls on the device are so intuitive! There's power, a selector switch, brightness, and temperature/color. The selector switch is as simple and slide it in the direction of the side you'd like to control and that's what it does! So simple, so practical, but there are so many lights out there with convoluted controls that require you to master their system or force you in software to get a simple brightness adjustment done. You don't really need a computer to use this light, but it sure does open up further flexibility by using the Logitech G Hub program, this allows you to further tweak, refine, and customize the Litra Beam LX to exactly what you want out of it, whether that be a specific shade on the RGB side, temperature sync with other Litra lights, or something as simple as auto-on/off when your camera is on or off! I seriously love using this light and am really tempted to get another for the other side of my desk! As for the price, I would love it to be less, but as someone who previously spent double what the Litra Beam LX costs on "real studio key lights," I'll take the $149. The $50 premium over the standard Litra Beam is not bad, considering you can use the other side as a fill light for the rest of the space (the side facing the opposite direction, that is).Way to go Logitech, you nailed this one! I would highly recommend it for the gamer, content creator, and professional who needs a light a varied and flexible as their needs are!

Great Desktop Lighting Solution

The Logitech Litra Beam was such an awesome addition to my home office set up. I typically work from home, so spend my days working on stuff for my job, but then at night, I shift the purpose of my space towards games and creating video content.I've been a fan of Logitech's peripherals for years, and they're a brand that I trust to deliver a quality product and a great user experience. From my Harmony remotes, to my MX set up, the Litra Beam is a wonderful addition to any streaming or home video set up. Something I really love about this light is that there's actually 2 lights: a front-facing light that goes through all the white temps, and a back-facing light for ambiance / mood colors. It's pretty stratightforward to set up. Out of the box, you get the Litra Beam, a standard power cord, and then a USB-C cable for connecting the light to your PC. On the light itself, there's a variety of switches to customize the light the way you want it. There's a toggle switch that allows you to customize the colors, temperature, and behaviors of the front-facing or rear-facing lights. The front light is only white, but can go from cold / daylight white to a warm candlelit type of light. You can also customize the brightness level from slightly dim to full blast. The rear-facing lights are where the fun comes in, instead of switching between shades of white, you can toggle between different ambiant color lights. My personal favorite was the pulsing rainbow effect where the colors seem to move from the top to the bottom of the light. You can also control the intensity of the rear-facing light as well.If you want, you can also download the Logitech app and connect the light to your PC and have it behave in a more customized way. I personally didn't see the need to try that out yet for the purposes of my review, because I was able to use the phyiscal buttons to customize it to how I like. Speaking of customization, you can also use the stand to mount the light in a vertical or horizontal manner. I currently have mine in the vertical mode, slightly angled towards my face to create a more dramatic light for my video. If you're looking for a great desktop light solution that provides a lot of options, as well as fun ambiant options, then the Litra Beam LX should be on your list to check out!

Impressive Key Light with fun RGB Features!

In essence – good lighting results in good quality video and photographs.Key features of this device include:- Bluetooth or USB connectivity for use with Logitech G HUB software- Dual-sided RGB and LED Key light- TrueSoft technology for cinematic color accuracy and advanced diffusion that eliminates harsh shadows- LIGHTSYNC RGB rear-facing light features 16 million color combinations to provide an immersive gameplay experience- Slim design allows the light to be configured and placed where other lights cannot be placed, allowing one to achieve uniquely creative lighting effects suited to your space. The Logitech Litra BEAM LX comes with the following items included in the box- The dual sided light bar,- A two-part height-adjustable mounting stand and base,- A power cable,- A USB-A to USB-C connectivity cableOne of the nicer features of this streaming light is that the bar itself has two mounting screw locations – one centrally located and a second located at the end of the bar – this when combined with the height-adjustable mounting stand provides for several options for positioning the light to meet your space’s unique needs. For example, you can have the light mounted in a T-Shaped method using the center mounting point. Alternatively, when using the end mounting point you can have the light arranged in several ways – from horizontal to vertical by taking full advantage of this 180-degree swivel feature of the mounting stand. This way you can more precisely place the light to give you the best benefits of the key light. Since the power and USB wires connect on the underside of the light, you do really need to use the stand to position the light. It would be a nice touch on future versions of the light to include some legs – either as additional parts of as flip out options with a channel in the end of the leg to allow the light to be place on top of a monitor screen and use the light without the stand. The stand and light come with good cable management features to help contain the cords more efficiently. The top of the light bar has physical buttons for controls for Power, a light selector (front or rear light by positioning the selector to that side of the bar ) that works with the brightness and Temperature controls, and the Bluetooth pairing button.Using the light with Logitech G HUB is easy and straight forward. It even has some a right click option on the G Hub task bar application to see the status of the light and perform some quick updates (see images) and provides a status of how the light is connected. The G Hub app also has a nice “features and functions” review of the light as part of the initial screen via the option called “Meet Litra Beam LX”.The light supports G-Key functionality (buttons or keys to trigger commands or functions when pressed) and as such you can use it with other G-Key capable devices (such as a mouse, headset, or keyboard) to control the light brightness, color temperature, switch pre-sets, or turn the light on or off. G HUB also helps keep your light up to date with the latest firmware updates. Another nice feature though G HUB is to be able to automatically activate the light when your webcam activates. There are two main menus in the app – the light menu and the LIGHTSYNC menu – the light menu is for controlling the main white light of the bar and allows for selecting one’s preset, the temperature and the brightness of the light and selecting the camera you to use with the light. Also on the Light page is a drop down for the presets you have available to use. There is a second one for the profile to use.The LIGHTSYNC Menu is all about controlling the RGB rear light of the bar to help set the mood of the room – with options for Power of the RGB light, overall brightens and then menus for pre-sets, Freestyle, Which allows one to control each of the 7 sections of RGB lights independently or in groups (for example - 2 Left, 3 center, and 3 right) and animations (the lights changing colors at certain rates and patterns. Each section has multiple options and combinations. One of the fun presets is the audio visualizer where you can set high, low and background colors and the RGB light will react to any music you are playing with those colors as the music plays.Overall, I am impressed with the functionality of this key light and the added bells and whistles of the RGB light. The light has enough capability and options to make it useful in a large variety of settings and improve the quality of any video you are producing whether that video is for streaming, recorded videos, or even online meetings for work. I would recommend this light for those seeking a key light for their setups although this model may be too feature-rich for those seeking a simple key light. For those users, the Litra Beam may be an option.

Nice, customizable, versatile light.
27 September 2023

Having used some other webcam lights before (such as those "circle" lights), I found myself really liking this light.First and foremost, the light is rather versatile with the ability to mount it either horizontally or vertically on the stand. It also appears as though the screw threads are standardized, so I would assume it could be mounted on an articulating arm or another stand/tripod, if so desired. (I did not actually test this theory, however.) The light can be controlled manually from the unit itself, so no need for it to be plugged into a computer or accessed by an application on a smart device. There is a toggle switch that allows the user to control the front-facing white light and the rear-facing multi-colored lights. There is a toggle switch that allows the user to control the front-facing white light and the rear-facing multi-colored lights. The warmth and intensity of the white light can be controlled from the light itself. The rear multi-colored lights can be toggled between different lighting orientations as well. The stand itself is actually pretty nice. It is lightweight throughout the vertical beam, but the base has some decent heft to it, so the light should not tip over easily. Cable routing is on the exterior of the stand, but there are some "channels" in which to insert the cords, so they stay in place at the rear of the stand. The light can be controlled via the Logitech G Hub software, which also allows the firmware to be updated. Given all the controls located right on the lamp itself, I found myself not really using the software much. The light is supposed to be accessible via bluetooth as well, but I did not test this functionality as the on-light controls with a computer application "backup" was all I needed. (There is a Logitech G application for smartphones that I found that connects to the device via bluetooth. I may have to try this later... See how it works.)While I thought this would predominantly be an occasional-use light for me when recording video lectures, I found that its versatility and nice stand wound up replacing the articulating desk light that I already had on my desk. Overall, it is hard to find things to complain about with this light. Well executed, Logitech!

The RGB lighting is vibrant and customizable, allowing to cycle through gradients, primary colors, and rainbow spectrums. Although it may not match the front-facing beam's intensity, it effectively brightens the area behind your monitors. The temperature controls are easy to navigate, allowing for quick transitions between colder blue hues and warmer orange tints. The temperature range of 2700-6500K strikes a balance, ensuring comfortable lighting even at the highest setting. If you require a more powerful light source than what your PC's USB ports can provide, then this light is an excellent choice.Overall, the Logitech G Litra Beam LX is an exceptional key light with the added benefit of RGB lighting.
