Well where do i start, anyone that has been into gaming has had sometime in they life had a Joystick with the trigger fire button & button or 2 on top. This just take the whole concept of Joystick gaming to not just the next level but up quite a few. Now most people will look at it thinking how can a joystick cost nearly 400 quid, ( got mine in sale at 267 with Pedals bundle). I can tell you now that it will be worth every penny spent on the X56 Rhino H.O.T.A.S. some people like myself thought that the Xbox 360 controller for using on PC was ok to use for flying Helicopters or planes even spaceships. I had alway found flying in Arma 3 with Helicopters hard & had to use Auto Hover to land, With the X56 once you get use to the throttle control which seem hard at fast butit is very smooth & precise just little movements on the lever & you can have from 25% power to hover or BOOM push up the lever & 100% power forward on joystick your away flying with ease.Main game have used it for so far are Arma 3, Elite Dangerous, IL-2 Sturmovic, Take on Helicopters. All of them offer AMAZING gaming & hours of fun trying to learn easy part is taking off & flying around -Hard part is Landing it alive :) .You also get inside is a little box with different coil strength little bit of colour on the coils tell you which one is being used , This is so you can change the way the joystick moves from fast movement to more precise movement which was very handy for me & so easy to change the spring coils takes just few min 5/10min max.The switches on the throttle all metal not plastic & you have on this also a was to change the way the throttle is can be normal at pusing it up or you have a wheel on the side to just turn few times & your throttle with be lot harder to push up for power & down. All in all this X56 Rhino joystick by Logitech is a amazing bit of kit & well worth the money this will last years if looked after & for what you get both units are light in weight & powered by USB.I have the pedals that came in with the bundle but have not used them yet but once i do i will review them & post.Get on to OverClockerUK now with they great service you won't be needing any other company for any of your PC stuff

Honestly this HOTAS is a little overpriced for what it is. The plastic has a cheap feel to it, and the overall design feels like a miss. It's quite a stretch to hit some parts of the stick but in general it is very serviceable as a generic HOTAS for many different applications. The stick is probably the worst-designed part. The "A" button and the trim switch are very awkward to reach in particular, and if you use the twist function, the stick tends to creek quite a bit. There seem to be quality issues in manufacturing as well, as one of the hat switches on the throttle does not spring back to center. I get around this by just not using it, but this is honestly kind of a deal-breaker for me. Would I recommend it? If you are looking for a HOTAS in this price class, yes. If you're willing to spend more, go with Virpil or the Thrustmaster Warthog. For what it's worth, I paid what those are worth for mine due to really low supply of HOTAS controllers in general and this was what I was able to get in a determinate period of time. I don't regret the purchase, but I expect more for what Logitech thinks is a $250 controller, especially paying nearly twice that.

Cheap injection molded garbage, Saitek is no longer in business and Logitech will not help you. Plugged in this set and came to find out that my keyboard and mouse interferes with it, making my aircraft spin in circles constantly. Unplugged keyboard and mouse, problem solved right? 10 minutes later, same issue arised without the keyboard and mouse even being plugged in. Huge hollow plastic base, internal components are TINY and cheaply made. Don't buy. Go for another brand.

Excellent HOTAS setup. Very precise joystick. Throttle is a bit too stiff right out of the box, but it lightens up some with use. Plus, you can do the throttle grease removal trick that is shown in several youtube videos. After doing that, the throttle works beautifully. Tons of programmable buttons on both the joystick and the throttle. Rotary switches on my throttle, which were a source of complaint for many, are just fine on mine. Not too much play at all and no skew. Mine was an open box, brand new blue unit, and it seems to be just fine. Guess I must have gotten a good blue unit. If it lasts half as long as my old x52 setup(11 years), I'll be more than thrilled. Great setup for DCS World, which is what I mainly play.
The Saitek X56 is a pretty good and well made HOTAS setup. Everything worked right out of the box with the downloaded software from MadCatz. Everything on the stick and throttle works, and they feel great. The button positioning is pretty good and it feels very comfortable to use. The only problem I have is the throttle friction is a bit stiff, but after you work it back and forth a few times it losens up. The little axis sticks on the setup don't drift for me, and all the rotaries and buttons work just like they're supposed to. So far I don't have any complaints about the build quality, aside from the throttle friction issue. Overall it's a great stick, and I would recommend it for those who don't want to shell out the $500 for a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS.
Honestly I likely going to have to crack up the trottle assembly and clean up some of the 'grease' and try to increase the viscosity just a bit... (thin it out...) its very temp sensitive and also changes resistance with amount of movement and duration it's very inconsistent. the slop in the stick is unacceptable and I'll be machining a new centering bowl that or make my own centering gimbal Decided to just gut the whole thing and going to make a custom case and stick for both. centering gimbal got worse with wear. and throttles other then DCS not many support dual stick/engine throttles so they always linked as one and the design of that causes them to twist and cause excess resistance in the throttle (besides the gel they use as a damper. which dont work either) ... MoreHonestly I likely going to have to crack up the trottle assembly and clean up some of the 'grease' and try to increase the viscosity just a bit... In theory this is the perfect HOTAS for space sims, and the upcoming crop of Descent-style 6DOF shooters. But while you can probably adapt this to work with the former, the latter is unlikely. Games like Overload require fast responses that the stiff/sticky throttle just won't allow, and you end up hunting for the 50% mark to come to a complete stop. The analog sticks should be the perfect addition to this, allowing you to move in any direction while the joystick controls pitch/yaw/roll. But the little sticks have such a small amount of resistance (far less than a typical game console a-stick) that while you're using several pounds of pressure to adjust your thrust with the throttle, using your thumb to delicately move the analog stick to strafe around a corner is ... MoreIn theory this is the perfect HOTAS for space sims, and the upcoming crop of Descent-style 6DOF shooters. You might as well just have a hat switch since the lack of resistance makes small adjustments so tedious. And it's worth mentioning that even in the case of Elite: Dangerous, the default control setup assumes you have a throttle that zeros out at 50%. Returned for refund. Incredibly poor design choices and inconsistent switch quality are not worth $250. If I'd known it didn't have a center throttle detent, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

No idea why Saitek doesn't do this before shipping, it would improve consumer feedback and be inexpensive.
I bought this HOTAS for Elite Dangerous on pc and so far I am not disappointed. This strick really pulls me right into the game and helps me stear with incredible accurracy. My only issues so far have been that I had to manually calibrate the axis and set dead points, because the stick doesn't sit dead center. Every now and them I also have to hit the recalibration for the stick as well, but both issues can be fix after about an hour of custom fitting. I also recommended securing the HOTAS to your desk. It's not a huge issue but when I get intensively in my zone i push to hard and the base comes up a bit. I suggest velco command strips you can remove later. I went over to this stick from a x52 pro. I play elite dangerous mostly along with dcs world. The stick itself doesn't feel as solid as the x52. But it's functional. I like the fact it unscrews from the base so changing the spring is a walk in the park. Some of the positioning of the buttons are a bit weird. I'd say I have average sized hands but I find it difficult to reach without making my hands ache. The same goes for the throttle. The buttons seem to be crammed on. It's nice having so many to program. But the buttons on the base sometime get obstructed by the throttle when it's at max. The throttle itself is really stiff. Even at the lightest setting. I'm not sure if this is because of too much grease etc. I've gotten used to it and in certain games such as ... MoreI went over to this stick from a x52 pro. The small joysticks on the stick and throttle are probably the most disappointing. They are overly sensitive. The way around it for me was to make the deadlines massive. The software if I'm honest. Is crap. I'm hoping it will get better but I doubt it. I don't find it very user friendly. Overall. If you are planning on going flight Sims using real planes. I'd go with another stick. Space Sims. This would be better. It's not a bad stick but it's notthe greatest. If I had to choose again. I'd Prolly stay with the x52 pro.
