Logitech G502 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse with Hero Sensor and Tunable Weights

Single worst gaming mouse I've ever bought from Logitech. In fact I doubt it is even a Logitech mouse seems more like a rebranded one from a different provider.It is small and uncomfortable. The back of the mouse doesn't fit the hand so your basically holding the mouse by your finger tips in order to actually be able to press the buttons (mainly the side buttons).The side buttons are flat so you cannot feel which button is which or if your pressing both at once (same with the DPI buttons but I don't deliberately use those).The construction feels cheap. Actually, no it IS cheap. I can't figure out why though, it could be that it is too light or maybe the feet are more slippery, I have no clue but my experience with it is incredibly frustrating even after months trying to get used to it.Every previous generation of top gaming mouse was better. Best mouse I've ever had

I've had a few mice in the past, they were usually wired. My fiancé then suggested for me to get the G502 wireless, at first I was hesitant because of it being wireless, I was going to get the wired version of the G502 but he kept saying to try the wireless that I'll never go back. Best mouse I've owned.

I got this for Christmas after I tested it in store. I've used several other gaming mice in the past, but this one just looks and feels the best out of any of them. I also don't see any input delay, though I'm not a pro gamer, so I don't examine it under a microscope. I love having it wireless because it gives me a better range of movement in my current computer space. I frequently look at it and think how nice it looks. The program specific bindings have also been fun to use for different games. Using the tilt wheel for cycling weapons and equipment is so nice. The precision aiming that the snipe button allows, not just in shooters, but also in building games where you want to line things up juuust right is something I use way more than I expected. The infinite scroll wheel makes navigating certain web pages and user agreements a flash. And the fact that if I forget to charge my mouse, I can just unplug the usb dongle and use the cord to charge my mouse while I use it as wired is wonderful for how forgetful I can be. By far the favorite mouse I've owned, and I'm considering getting the Powerplay mousepad for the wireless charging.

G 502 Hero without the cable

I've been using a G 502 wired mouse for a couple of years and really like it for its shape, precision and button feel. The G 502 Lightspeed feels nearly identical while getting rid of the cable. Left and right mouse buttons feel slightly harder to activate but the side buttons (3 and 4) are much tighter in feel and response. These just may be sample deviations of the internal switches, I'm not sure. The wheel on the wireless mouse is rubberized and feels much better than the wired version. Battery life so far is great and I expect 1 week use easily with my usage. I don't play many FPS games so my usage may be lighter than a more avid gamer. The only downside is Logitech forcing their G Hub software on users to get full use out of all of this mouse's features. G502 - Great mouse, except during prolonged use

I’ve had my G502 lightspeed for a little over a year now, and it’s been great (despite the fact I lost my Bluetooth USB for it), but there are a few issues I’ve found when using it. They’re not massive, and likely only apply to me, but they’re there. When using the mouse for extended time periods, the rubber pad along the left hand side of the mouse, the one that curves away from the mouse to give it its unique shape, tends to push up against my thumb, causing pain. This is after a LOOOONNNG time though, so if you’re using it for under 6 hours straight, you’re good. Ultimately the only reason the mouse isn’t a 5 star is because of how I hold my mice, it becomes uncomfortable during prolonged use or under competitive situations. It is also just a tad more expensive than other mice that offer more these days.

I googled this issue and there thousands of results and some pointing to that Logitech used inferior components when building them. The static builds up and causes cycling between on and off states of the switch when RMB is pressed down. One weird, but alas temporary solution is to blow air inside the mouse between the main body and the button. This is similar to when peeling a plastic sheet off a surface, it starts crackling with static electricity, but if you to spay it with water it neutralizes it. However I received an email response from Belle M. who was willing to address the issue.Troubleshooting suggestions consisted of some bizarre methods like using q-tips to clean the contacts - there is no way a q-tip can fit there. Forget that bunch of nonsense. There was another suggestion to update the G-Hub and Windows mouse drivers - surely it would fix a mechanical problem, not.Still, going through those steps that I could it did not fix the problem. Finally received an email to fill out a form with personal details and attach Serial Number(SN) and the receipt, which I did.28 minutes later I received a vague e-mail with denial:"Thank you for submitting the information under case number 10809400 which we have thoroughly analyzed.Unfortunately, we were not able to validate the receipt from the retailer. Without a valid itemized copy of your proof of purchase we cannot proceed with your claim and have no choice but to reject it. If you wish to provide a valid receipt/invoice as requested, we will reopen your claim."It's a copy of amazon's invoice and there is nothing else to it. I asked what itemized copy, but no more answers or communications came in. They are so quick and willing to take your money and sell their products, but when it comes to an issue - a bunch of BS is stuffed into emails and claim gets denied.I will post this everywhere - amazon, newegg, bestbuy, their own store(probably will get deleted), etc.

Logitech G502 Wireless Review

I've owned this mouse for right at 2.5 years so this is a long-term review. The mouse has held up well and has been one of the most comfortable mice to use for me. The mouse has quite a few nice features like the on-the-fly DPI adjustment, RGB, hyperscroll wheel, and up to 25,400 DPI sensitivity which I always leave it at except for areas where I need finer control where I'll bump it down to 14k-10k DPI or use the "sniper" button since I enjoy high-sensitivity mice. Some other features are a bit gimmicky to me like the buttons to the left of the left-mouse button which I find too difficult to reach in normal circumstances and the adjustable weights at the bottom which really don't make that much difference in my mind.Pros:* Very comfortable mouse* Long battery ... MoreI've owned this mouse for right at 2.5 years so this is a long-term review. USB-C has a MUCH more durable connector than micro-B and is reversible.* The micro-switches Logitech chose for this mouse are Omron D2FC-F-K which are rated for a lifespan of 50M clicks; except they wear out much sooner than that and there are lots of complaints online about double-clicking which I experienced myself about 1 year after purchase. These switches are decent quality, but I would have expected Logitech to use 80-100M click switches in this mouse given how expensive it is - the extra $1-2 for much better quality switches wouldn't have hurt their bottom line. If you'd like to replace the switches in the mouse, the circuit board is a circle so the edges are very narrow, so there is a risk of it snapping while trying to pull the old switches out. I replaced the double-clicking switch in the mouse with Kailh GM8.0 switches which came in a set of 4, were very inexpensive (like $9), are rated for 80M clicks, and have a much more tactile feel which I like more than the Omron switches. What I'm trying to get at is unless you have a soldering iron and feel comfortable replacing your own switches, expect to RMA this mouse in about a year to fix the double-clicking issue.* The battery is starting to not hold a charge as long after 2.5 years, which I expected; however, it is not currently possible to buy a replacement battery from Logitech (I spoke to a customer support rep to confirm) even though they have a spare parts section for this mouse (with no items in it) and have a whole page about sustainability and all the efforts they're going through to reduce waste and extend life of their devices. Keep in mind, this is for a product you can go out and buy today. When the battery eventually fails, the only four options are to buy a sketchy looking battery which may not be compatible, use it as a wired mouse, buy a Logitech Powerplay mat for over $100 to keep it alive as a wireless mouse, or the mouse becomes e-waste.* The software has 2 bugs that I've seen: the first is that oftentimes the battery percentage during charging will only go up to 68% even though it is actually charging beyond that - sometimes turning off and on the mouse allows the software to show the actual battery percentage. The second is that there is no ability to store your profile on the mouse - the mouse has a profile on it, but it can't be changed to a custom one as far as I can tell. A mouse this expensive should have the ability to store at least one custom profile.Overall, I highly recommend this mouse given its comfort and feature set, but warn that you may run into some of the issues I mentioned in the cons section 1-1.5 years after purchase.

It is most pronounced on the G5 button - on the Lightspeed, it has at least 1-2mm of travel before it even touches the button, which is confusing at first because you arent sure if youve actually made a keystroke. Also with the scroll wheel they reduced the weight by hollowing out the center leaving wheel spokes (it looks cast instead of machined like my old one is - undoubtedly because of cost) and added a rubber pad around the wheel which is certain to wear significantly compared to the unblemished wheel on my 7 year old g502. I figured it should be easy to just import all of my existing mouse profiles on to the Lightspeed, since they are after all the same button architecture. Well boy was I wrong, not only does it not use it, but when you download the required G Hub software, that software then disables the Logitech Gaming Software regardless of whatever peripherals may still be in use on the machine at the time. Also, when attempting to import the existing profiles from my old g502 on to the new G Hub, it somehow decided to overwrite them all to their default versions, which also cleared the profiles on my old LGS software. Furious that all my hard work was lost in those extensively detailed profiles, I was able to recover them from a completely separate machine that I commonly used the old mouse with. After some choice ranting I read a forum that suggested using a logitech software tool that manually configures onboard profiles with the Lightspeed, which allowed me to fully abandon the GHub software. Still, the manual onboard profile software that you have to dig for on Logitechs site still offers significantly fewer options for configuration than the original Logitech Gaming Software suite that I have been using for so long. Considering the impact on the devices usefulness to me, it sways me away from Logitechs products after decades of using their equipment - because just as any company that gets too much of a market, they begin to water down their quality and raise the pricing.

The most Perfect Mouse (For Right-handed Users)

Bought this mouse after my faithful Razer finally died on me after 12 years. So exiting a long term relationship into another one was precarious. You are bound to have a responsive feeling mouse feeling ready for any pace of game.Now the weight and size! The mouse is great weight and size (specifics on size below in specs) 114grams and 16grams extra in the form of weight you can add to the mouse. Four that fit around the optical senor under a removable panel and two that sit cleverly in the battery cover.Speaking of battery the battery holds any where from 48 to 60 hours of gameplay depending on your RGB setup on the mouse; and taking only 5 minutes of charge time to achieve about 2.5 hours of play time is a great bonus when you start to see that battery light flash.There are two conveniently placed buttons on the left hand side of the mouse (mouse buttons 4 and 5 respectively) under them lay another button you can set as a 'precision' mode enabling you to bind a faster or slower DPI which you can then use by holding the 'precision' button.
