Logitech H340 USB Headset

Thanks again Elijah Gilbert for the recommendation. It is exactly as I wanted it to do. I work from home and have a lot of video conferencing and this headphone may be lightweight and not as expensive as other headphones that costs us more than $200, it catches real time conversations etc. As for it being lightweight, no one uses it but me for my video conferencing and store safely too. Thanks PB Tech for making sure that your telephone lines are answered so that people who can't walk into the store like me ( due to medical reasons) can have access to your wares like everyone else. Very reasonable price for what you get. A trusted brand and the quality that you would expect. These are definitely not audiophile headphones nor is the mic going to be adequate for recording music but it is just a good all round headset for everyday use. Worked perfectly first try on my Manjaro Linux PC, I simply just plugged it into my front USB port and I was away. This is perfect if your PC doesn't have a combined mic/headphone jack which usually means the mic input is going to be extremely static (mine was). Using USB as the interface means the audio is delivered digitally with way less static!

Basic headset

I purchased this a couple of weeks ago on a whim as a basic usb headset with a microphone, without prior investigation. Pros: comfortable and ergonomic, light weight, worked out of box (with Ubuntu Linux). The open headphone design is practical for Skype calls, etc., and the microphone sounds much better compared to a Logitech webcam microphone. Cons: no built-in control for input volume or for the microphone. Of note: the mic is on the right side, whereas I am used to the mic being on the left side. In summary, this headset serves its purpose as a basic headset at a reasonable price, and I am happy with it. You might want to look elsewhere if you insist on built-in controls or left-sided microphone.

Great headset, recommend it for everyone. Like the noise canceling most of all. I have never tried a Bose item before, thought they were too high priced for what you receive. Was a wrong. Even bought another Bose QuietComfort 35 Series II Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones Rose Gold for the wife. She lives in it !! Really like the Triple Midnight blue limited edition look. Better than black..

Failed after two weeks - TWICE

Purchased this set of headphones as I have the same set at work - older but same model (we are currently in lockdown so I can't access them) and they worked for 2 weeks and then the right side speaker started crackling on zoom calls and listening to music (bass) - returned and exchanged for another set and same issue again after 2 weeks of use but now on the left hand side. Seems I've gotten stuck with 2 lemons. Will be returning for a refund and purchasing something else. Before the product failed I was pleased with the price point, microphone and sound quality and they were a comfortable fit. Disappointed they didn't last.

Get what you pay for...

Replaced a set I had for 15 years, lol! I love the small microphone (old one hooked from ear to mouth), and the listening quality is way better than the old one, even when that one was new. I miss the volume controller & clip (to keep the cord from moving) like the old one, but all in all, I'm happy with the purchase. I used my points so I got if for free, ergo, my review title. If I had to use one more often, I would probably invest in something better, but for me (zoom calls/mtgs 3-4 X/month), it's perfect. Hope this helps you make a more informed buying decision.

Good Value

I needed a new headset on short notice after realizing my old one wouldn't work in my new laptop. After reading some posted reviews on the website I settled on the H340, made sure it was in stock at my local store, and went to pick it up. Let's be honest -- this is an inexpensive headset and certainly not top of the line. For it's price, though, it's great value. The earpads are comfortable, the microphone picks up what I'm saying, and the sound is a couple orders of magnitude better than the laptop speaker. I have only two negative comments, one picayunish and one minor: On the really small side, I think the USB plug might be just a tad oversized. The bigger, but still minor, concern is that the microphone folds down only on one side of the ear pad. This means the user is forced to put the microphone on the right side, while I'm more comfortable with a microphone on the left. I'm still getting used to the way software works with a USB headset (it has to be plugged in before starting the software or it doesn't recognize the headset's presence), but that's not the product's fault. This is an excellent headset for the price, and I'd recommend it for anyone who isn't a hard-core, 8-hours-a-day user.

The microphone arm is too short. Why Logitech couldn't have mad it an inch longer is beyond my understanding, but it needs to be about that much longer in my opinion. I tested with my PC's voice recorder and it does not pick up my voice very well. Also, I hear a very low level of noise in the headphones when I'm not speaking. I guess that has something to do with the noise-canceling function, but I'm not sure. One thing I am sure about is that I've owned two headsets with microphone attachment in the past (one for Dragon Naturally Speaking; one a Plantronics headset for telephone). The microphone attachment on both headsets was not of the noise-canceling variety and they worked very well. Both had an adjustable microphone arm that actually reached my mouth. I looked at a bunch of headsets before settling on the Logitech and unfortunately, short microphone arms seem to be the norm these days. I threw away my Plantronics set and my Dragon mic headset while doing some housecleaning last fall because I had not used them in years and was tired of storing them in a box. Little did any of us know that the coronavirus pandemic would drive millions of us to rely on Zoom for meetings, etc. Now if I could only find a webcam.

Quality headphone set at a good price

Well constructed and reliable headphone set great for use with most PC applications. I would give it 5 stars except for a few missing features. Firstly the microphone has only a limited degree of travel which means it has to be on the right side of the face (I would prefer the left). Secondly, it is lacking a separate volume control and volume can only be adjusted on the computer. Thirdly, it has foam earpads which are quite comfortable but you can't beat the real cushioned earpads that were on my old Logitech earphones.

When I first plugged it in I expected it to work and that I would hear the sound from my computer thru the new headset. Wrong. In all, it took me over a half hour to get the right information to make it work. The headset itself actually works great!
