Logitech MX Keys Mini For Mac Minimalist Wireless Illuminated Keyboard Bluetooth QWERTY English Grey

Nice keyboard, feels great to type on and I like the compact minimialist design. The keys/switches are nice and quiet for a mechanical keyboard which was important to me.However, 2 flaws i've noticed after a couple weeks of use:- when caps lock is enabled, the backlight on the key blinks (~once per second) to indicate it's on. I find this blinking to be unnecessary and annoying. It's particularly noticeable in a dark room. After searching online, it appears there is no way to turn this off (neither on the keyboard nor by using the software Logi Options). I ended up covering the LED behind the caps key with electrical tape - this is not something I thought I would have to do on one of Logitech's latest models...- the Logi Options software is not compatible with ... MoreNice keyboard, feels great to type on and I like the compact minimialist design. 80% of the size but meets 100% of my needs

After 3 years of using the MX Master 3 mouse, I'd been yearning for the keyboard companion to go with it. I had my eyes set on the MX Keys keyboard but for one reason or the other, usually price, I held off, till eventually Logitech launch the MX Keys Mini. As luck would have it, it finally came in stock and I pulled the trigger.The compact keyboard for me is much better suited to my desk layout, I don't really find myself missing the numpad (in fact I find myself struggling a bit with my full sized work keyboard now). They have the spring and travel of your typical non-Apple laptop keyboard (this is an imprecise science but I'd say a bit like a Thinkpad keyboard).In the few months I've had it, I tend to need to recharge every 1-1.5 months. This is admittedly because I have the backlighting turned off usually (the proximity sensor on this is very good at lighting up the keyboard when you hover close to it). It's ambient light detection isn't quite as fast but if in a fairly well lit environment I've found that within 10-15 minutes it'll automatically turn off the backlighting.It took the briefest moments to get used to the dual Mac+Windows markings on function keys for eg. The hotkeys at the top are the default instead of traditional function keys. I've not quite worked out how to use the switching between devices buttons to the top left, and it took me a while to realise that there's built in buttons for say emojis, screen capture, and muting in meetings. The latter is now quite handy. Of course ultimately the Logi+ software allows you to configure some of the buttons yourself though I've not yet had need for it.Overall, really pleased with this product! Can recommend (Logitech's products are on the pricier side but for me I appreciate the quality to the MX range and am fully converted to it).

Awesome Product

I purchased this keyboard because it has backlit keys. I often use my IMac late at night under low light conditions and this product makes it so much easier to see what I’m typing. It’s slightly larger than the keypad that Apple supplies with its computers which is actually a plus in my opinion. It’s more ergonomic and makes using it more comfortable. Easy to set up and use. It can pair with up to 3 computers in the house including an Ipad with just the touch of a button. It’s missing a couple of function keys on the board specifically the screen brightness buttons which control how bright your screen is. Not a big deal because that can also be changed in settings. I purchased the grey keyboard and the only short coming that I’ve noticed is the keyboard washes out in full lighting conditions if the back light is left turned on. Meaning I can’t see the letters on the keys unless I turn the back light off. Most likely do to the light color of the keys themselves. Not a big deal just turn it off. At night these keys stand out. The black keyboard may solve the problem but I still prefer the grey. Other then this it operates exactly like the factory original. I would definitely recommend purchasing this product.

Excellent small form factor keyboard

I already have the grown-up edition of this, the MX Keys full-size, as my daily driver. I bought the Mini as a couch/lap keyboard for PC gaming in the lounge, which it excels at.The good: excellent bluetooth range, backlighting is wonderful, great key action (feels nice to type on!), solid weight (not plastic-feeling at all). Can pair with up to three different BT devices.The bad? Despite being recognised by a PS5, this keyboard is not supported by Sony's console, so you're out of luck if you want to use this for CoD K+M action. Also, the wireless tech in this keyboard is different to the MX Anywhere 3 (which I also bought), so if you want to connect this to an Xbox Series X (as I've done), you will need TWO dongles (the Bolt, and the Unifying). Great Product thus far

The main reason (initially) was I didn't like the white keys of the Mac keyboard because they show dirt so quickly. I'm using this with a laptop that is extended on a stand so it needed to be compact enough to travel.PROs• Super easy to set up, no drivers, no downloads needed.• Love the light-up feature, extremely helpful in low light• Sturdy, great feel, I think it's better than Mac keyboards.• Still shorter throw keys but they feel more sturdy, better action.• So far impressive battery life. 3 days in I haven't even needed to charge it yet. It comes on by default, and you have to press the 'Dim backlight' button repeatedly to turn it off.- the Logitech MX something software is really disappointing and hard to recommend. Theoretically you can set up the top row of keys to do app-specific things but in fact I could not get this to work. Also had hoped it would be possible to get the backlight to default OFF but no, all you can do is turn it off entirely.- the keys are set up to be dual Windows/MacOS. The way this is done is confusing, it is much better implemented on the older K780 keyboard which I use at home (here the Windows function is in obvious white colour while the iOS function is in a lighter less obvious font colour -- maybe I would feel differently if using this on a MacOS device!).- The MX Mini only operates off rechargeable batteries via a USB-C mini port. When it came first it ran out of charge quite soon (< 1 week). Since I recharged it, it has been around 14 days and it is still ~80% charge (but by no means in use every day). Not to harp on about the good old days, but the K780 runs for years on cheap AAA batteries.So, all things considered, a good keyboard, maybe even a great keyboard but not quite perfect.

If a keyboard doesn't have the option to be backlit 100% of the time, then it doesn't deserve to be called a backlit keyboard. Simple as that. At it's very best, it's a backlit *sometimes* keyboard. "Smart Illumination" is counter-intuitive, inconsistent, annoying, and unnecessary. Virtually every other backlit keyboard on the market is sold with the ability to enable backlight 100% of the time, I don't know why Logitech would randomly decide to go against such a widely-accepted convention and fail to explain it more clearly up front.If backlight solves a problem of visibility, why would you implement it in such a way that the problem still exists at times? This is an excellent keyboard in my opinion. It's easy to type with, given my preference for low-profile keyboard. Unfortunately, my G915 model is called "low-profile," but it has too great of travel time and is too high off its chassis in my opinion (makes sense since it's it's mechanical unlike this).The difficulty I found in typing with it motivated me to purchase this keyboard. Could use some G/macro keys in my opinion, and being autistic, I can't look at the keyboard when it tries to connect. I would also argue that its lowest backlight brightness is too high, but just at the edge of comfort. The breathing effect is liable to give me a migraine, but once connected, it works like a charm.Can't love this keyboard enough. Provide a dedicated Windows keyboard or optional replaceable keycaps for Windows not to ruin the experience

Instead of tiny "start" letters Mac's "opt" is prominently displayed. I constantly stop typing to find "Start" key.Looks like Windows system is the second-grade citizen after Mac. It's very bad. There are more Windows users than Mac users and Logitech completely ruins the experience for Windows users. The company has a dedicated MX keyboard for Mac. Why not for Windows? Why is there no respect for Windows users? At least there MUST be additional replaceable keycaps supplied with the keyboard for a single system to replace the multi-system keycaps. Takes up so much less room

I thought I'd try this keyboard because of the size. I never used the number keypad on the right so why bother with it?I've had this keyboard for a while and over all it works great. I am still getting used to the spacing between keys; I over reach frequently going for keys on the upper letter row and the number row. I also seem to have a problem with the positioning of the delete and backspace keys. And still getting used to how to use the function F keys.I do like the backlit keys and the ability to brighten or dim. That helps save charging time. It lasts a pretty good amount of time on a charge. Seriously thinking of taking a silver sharpie and making a little mark on the F12. :-)Obviously the more I use it, the more I get used to the layout and and ctrl, alt keys. a gazillion years of typing on a standard keyboard is hard to break.Overall thought, it is a nice compact keyboard with a good feel to the keys. It takes up very little space on the desktop. The keys are backlit so it does make it easier to see where the special keys are. I don't use some of the special media keys - my headphone mutes automatically when I flip the mic up and usually I would just mute a video with the mute on the screen. I'm not even sure what the keys over F1, F2 and F3 do. If you are someone that has a lot of use for media buttons, you will find them much more useful than me.I also use a PC and have always had a PC keyboard. having opt|start on one key and cmd|alt on another is difficult for me trying to find the key combination I want.It may sound like like I don't like the keyboard -- actually I do like it. Just pointing out the issues I have with getting adjusted to it. Others may adapt much more quickly than I did.
