Best productivity mouse there is but is slightly let down by compatibility with Linux

Although this is true for windows and Mac the native compatibility with Linux is lacking and only basic functionality is available. There are workarounds using third party FOSS software but having a login options plus app for Linux would make life a lot better.Overall, while the MX Master 3S excels in most areas, Linux users might face challenges with software compatibility, impacting the full utilization of its features.

I upgraded my mouse to the MX3 a few years ago, and wanted to get the keyboard equivalent so they would match and could run off the same dongle... only it wasn't after I had ordered and received the MX Mechanical and was in the process of getting it set up that I discovered that the MX mouse runs on the universal dongle while the MX mechanical runs on the logi bolt, and neither will accept the other. Why a mouse and keyboard who are in the same product family wouldn't be able to run on the same technology is baffling to me.The keyboard itself is great. I like the clickyness of the keys, and I like how you can customize the button glow to several different patterns based on preference. The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because I now have to use two separate USBs to run two Logitech products, and that seems like a waste.

Almost like the switches underneath start softening up making it a bit hard at times to understand if a key has indeed been pressed properly or not.The positives are that it does indeed use mechanical switches underneath the keys (rather than a membrane system), and it does have a sizeable battery which can accomodate extensive use before charging. However, for the price (CHF 162 when I bought it) I would have expected more features. You can get much better mechanical keyboard from other brands for half the price. I'm not quite sure why Logitech didn't simply build a regular mechanical keyboard that adheres to their well respected build quality. If you're a fan of Logitech and aren't a hater of membrane keyboards, then I would recommend getting the regular MX Keys instead.

Perfectly Responsive: A Petite User's Delight with the MX Mechanical Keyboard
19 June 2024

The MX Mechanical Keyboard stands out for its exceptional responsiveness and speed. Initially, I found it to be almost too fast, requiring a brief adjustment period to get accustomed to its quick reaction times, compared to what I used before which was the regular full keyboard from apple. As someone with a petite frame, I discovered that using a wrist rest holder significantly improved my typing experience. The wrist rest helped elevate my arms to accommodate the keyboard's taller profile, making it much more comfortable to use. Once I added this accessory, my typing experience became perfect.Another delightful aspect of the MX Mechanical Keyboard is its clicky noise. I’m a guy with average-sized hands, yet my previous keyboard, a 75% layout compact mechanical, was becoming difficult to use day-to-day. The elevation and density of the keys kept my hands in an awkward position and typing became a hassle. I was reluctant to shell out more money on a keyboard, so I suffered until I couldn’t take it anymore. This keyboard has been a godsend. Despite there only being one elevation setting, typing has been a breeze. The keys are in the right places for my fingers to easily access. The build is sturdy and firm, unlike less premium plastic keyboards. The battery life is actually insane and the backlighting is perfect for me. While this keyboard is pricey, I do not regret purchasing it one bit. I haven’t used it for any gaming, so I am uncertain how it will perform under more stress.

[Rewarded Review] Great Quality Keyboard with no compromises

The Logitech mx mechanical keyboard is the best keyboard I have used in years. The keyboard has many features and that I found myself using more that I thought I would. The backlit keys are great. The keys have great feedback and travel distance is just right. One feature I love the most is being able to have different profiles for different devices connected via bluetooth. From what I have seen you do not have to use the included dongle and can connect to the device directly. I have a windows device and a Mac that I have to switch between during the course of the day and the seamless transition from one device to another has been amazing. The battery life is amazing. This could be a mapping issue on my part. Everything else has been great.

[Rewarded Review] Great keyboard, slightly pricey

I love mechanical keyboards, but sometimes I dont want to sound like I'm tap dancing on plywood in an empty room. This keyboard has a good balance with the haptic and audible feedback it gives. It is just enough to give you that satisfying mechanical feel, but not audibly explosive like most mechanical keyboards are. It is also decent for general gaming. I use it for work and gaming, and I have no issue with either. The multiple bluetooth connectivity is also a big plus, which can also be used for your phone which I use more than I thought i would. The only negative I have is the rubber on the bottom of the collapsible legs. They are attached with an adhesive tape instead of an integrated retention. I've already lost one foot due to the friction of constant removal ... MoreI love mechanical keyboards, but sometimes I dont want to sound like I'm tap dancing on plywood in an empty room. The first two weeks I had this keyboard I enjoyed it. I thought it was way too expensive for what you got, but I was looking for a pre-built mechanical keyboard that would feel much more comfortable to type on than what I currently had. Typing feels a bit “pingy.” The spacebar in particular feels a bit loose. After I set it up, I noticed I could not have an always on backlight. This was not a dealbreaker for me but I thought it was odd considering the price point. the logitech software (that is required) would instantly fail to recognize my keyboard as active as soon as I connected it. I also didn’t think this was that big of a deal, since my keyboard continued to work and perform fine. That is until suddenly the keyboard began acting strange. If I stopped using the keyboard for a few minutes at a time, it was like the keyboard “went to sleep” and if I started typing on it again it would have to “wake up” and there would be a delay between my typing and the letters appearing. Eventually this turned into the keys getting “stuck” and letters appearing over and over onscreen (for example, “aaaaaaaaaaa”.) This happened regardless of connection via bluetooth, bolt, or even having it plugged in via wire. I tried every single troubleshooting trick, and discovered this is a common problem. Of course, all this began happening for me outside the return window, so now I’m stuck with an overpriced keyboard I can’t use.

This keyboard is just okay at best !The switches are "okay" but the abs key caps seem cheap. Not getting PBT double shot key caps in 2024 is a no brainier. I would recommend spending a little more and get a much better board with hotswappable switches, which this one doesn't have.Connecting multiple devices is super easy, but trust me, the number one thing to consider while purchasing a mechanical keyboard are how it feels to type on, and how much is the modularity on it, in 2024 I would say. Keychron has much cheaper keyboards than this one, but the cheap ones have a lot of issues but the slightly expensive ones (around 130-200$) all of them are a easy recommendation.4. Check out the ASUS strix scope in 96, it's an amazing keyboard.5. With a slightly larger budget, check out NuPhy Field and Gem. They are great !Can also checkout the ASUS RoG Azoth which has way better prelubed factory switches and sounds amazing too with hotswappable board, excellent key caps and insane battery life. The good thing about this keyboard is that it has native software support for macOS which most keyboards I mentioned miss !But do you need it ? I doubt that.

I upgraded from a Logitech MK270 combo that I used for working while traveling. I needed a new mouse and discovered the MX Anywhere, so I splurged on a matching MX Mechanical to be the total replacement. This keyboard is a good solid build, surprisingly heavy when I picked it up. The keys have a great tactile feel. Many other keyboards, even the mechanical, have a mushy feel for me. I am a fan of the Unicomp buckling spring keyboards, which I still use. The MX Mechanical makes a great companion keyboard for travel. I especially like the easy setup with the online Web Connect; I never liked installing software just to link the receiver to a different device.
