Logitech MX Vertical Advanced Ergonomic Mouse

This mouse takes a little bit to get used to, but quickly starts feeling normal and comfy. The size is good, geared toward bigger hands, and the charge is quick and lasts forever. Ergonomically it does do a good job of reducing the amount of twist in the wrist. My ring and pinkie finger feel left out with this design though, they're either forced to be kept a bit too straight, or droop and stick on the desk. A more rounded shape at the front would work better. The build quality seems good, but that's a necessity at this price point which I feel is quite high. Another issue that you may experience is 'ghost clicking/dragging', caused by the pressure of a mouse click moving the mouse a bit, due to the verticality. This happens less over time, but it can be frustrating having to focus more on clicking without moving the mouse. Overall, there's a lot of nice things about this mouse especially when it comes to reducing strain. The price and occasional issues do ding it, but it's still a solid choice in a niche category.

Apparently, the laser easily goes through the clear mat and reflects off of my wooden desk surface. Unfortunately, I cannot do this with the MX Vertical. The latter issue is not a big deal I do have to slightly adjust where I placed my keyboard, but it would have been nice if it worked as well in this regard as the MX Master. Otherwise, what appeared as a gimmick at first is real. My right hand is in a more natural position using this mouse, and I highly recommend that if you are in the market for a new mouse, give this one a try. I think you'll be as positively surprised as I was.

Better Than Expected, Mac Software is Clumsy

I would normally watch and read some reviews from hardware sites prior to spending more than $20 on an accessory. Instead I ordered this and then read/watched the reviews afterwards. I was instantly concerned that I would regret the purchase. Many complained that their accuracy suffered when clicking, because the mouse would move mid click as ones finger press would be enough pressure to cause left-ward movement. I got the package in less than 24 hours and was pleasantly surprised to discover that I didn't have this issue. It will probably vary with the user depending upon how hard you're clicking/thrusting with your finger. The ergonomics are as good as advertised and I was pleased that it comfortably fits in my palm. My pinky doesn't hang off the edge or drag on the desk, although, I could see someone with much larger hands having an issue. It's also surprisingly light. I'm glad I paid for the MX version rather than the cheaper Lift, as the slightly larger surface space and the built in battery feels orate it. In addition to this, switching between computers is a breeze. There's a button on the underside that you can press to switch between three devices, meaning I can quickly move from my personal MacBook to my work computer on the fly. I've detracted a star because, in true Logitech fashion, the Mac support isn't fully baked. There is a firmware updated on the Logitech site, but the MX Vertical isn't supported. It's entirely possible there isn't currently a firmware update, and that support will be added once an update happens, but I have my doubts. There is Mac support for he Logitech Options software, which is what you'll need to download in order to take advantage of the customizable buttons. For those of you used to using gestures on your Mac's track pad, you'll want to use this software. Unfortunately, it's a little unwieldy to set up. There Logi Options, and then there's Logi Options+. The onscreen instructions for setting them up aren't exactly accurate to Mac interface, and you have to set up Options+ in order for the Options software to recognize the mouse. That last part wasn't explained, and I stumbled into it.

I actually was going to return this but didn't know the return window was 14 days. Honestly it is fine but my hands were too short to be able to reach the forward button on the mouse. I was going to try the smaller variant of this mouse due to that. Aside from that, I was skeptical about how much taller this mouse is to other vertical mouses but actually that is what is good about it imo. Other mouses are too short which makes my hand rub on the mousepad. This mouse also doesn't have too much of a curve at the end of the mouse unlike most other vertical mouse which also contribute to strain when I click. Also I noticed that this mouse glides really easily which makes it really painless to move around. I'm a woman with average size hands, and the first few days I used the mouse, I felt the mouse was too big. Then I actually discovered you can reach all the keys by just adjusting your grip to be higher on the mouse, where it is narrower, and rotating it to the left. I think your grip adjustment is something that happens intuitively over time - but you have to get over the "it's too big" feeling. Chances are, if it feels big you may be resting your hand on it incorrectly. (My 11 year old with tiny hands seems to have no problem with it once I showed her how to adjust her grip). - I love that you can adjust the sensitivity, and that it takes just small movements to make large movements across the screen. I use 2 computer monitors, and it takes just a tiny wrist movement to move the cursor from one screen to another. This makes me so happy. - I have no issues with the scroll button, but I did adjust it to the fastest scroll ability possible. - the ONLY thing I do not like about this mouse is that I lost the ability to scroll left to right in excel, but I just customized the thumb buttons for that (I wish they were bigger). - I have thwacked the mouse off my desk a few times because I forget it's so tall. In summary, for me, the benefits of using this mouse FAR outweigh the negatives. Most of the negatives have been a matter of just getting used to something different in the beginning. It's just second nature now.

Fantastic Ergo Set-up with a Catch

I was looking forward to and received my equipment today. Out of the box it works great and ergonomically speaking it feels very comfortable to type with the K860 for business and using the MX Vertical for business as an ergo combo. With the mouse you can definitely feel a relief in your wrists across the board. Both work great for users with big hands. My typing habits improved dramatically with the split keyboard and vertical mouse after a few hours of use. No doubt about it. I have both peripherals set-up to my personal computer via bluetooth in Windows 11 and pairing them is seamless if you have a wifi 6e wireless network card with bluetooth 5 or higher. So from that aspect both devices are great and easy to configure through the Logi Options+ software. The only ... MoreI was looking forward to and received my equipment today. The only con, complaint, downside and huge disappointment at the ergo combo for business use cases is that for computers that have no bluetooth, the companionship of the K860 keyboard and the MX Vertical mouse would mean losing 2 USB ports. Also, a device with a bolt receiver cannot mingle with a unifying receiver device so you can't marry both peripherals in one receiver or the other regardless if it's logibolt or unifying. So that right there was a huge dissapointment. For how expensive buying both the keyboard and mouse together is, I would expect compatibility between the two or at least logibolt compatibility for all the business devices. Otherwise, it was simple to set up both equipped dongles for a second device from Logi Options+ in my personal computer and then connect the 2 dongles to my work computer. So far it works fine on my work computer as well.

Gave me 100% comfort for marathon sessions

I am writing to first express my heartfelt thanks to the designers of the MX Vertical Mouse. It has given me back hours of productive use at the computer that I was losing do to arthritis. I have been an MX Master guy since it came out, and loving the functionality. All of my machines have a Master 3 on them. I was fully involved in custom productivity programming and totally committed to that device. Sadly, I started having issues where my mouse hand would grow numb and weak, and I would have to stop for frequent breaks. My mind was not stopping, a classic case of “the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak”. My friend told me about the vertical mouse, and I figured it was worth a try. Frankly, my only complaints about the MX Vertical is I really miss the flywheel scrolling. Never a fan of the detent “clicky” effect on the scroll wheel, alway shut it off. Miss horizontal scrolling a bit as well, although I would be happier with a “left-center-right” scroll wheel click to cover horizontal movement. Using the Shift key to make the wheel horizontal is not implemented in all software. Anyway, the bottom line for me is the Ergo design is a godsend, making mouse fatigue a non issue.

Great mouse, when I don't want to smash it...

The quality of the item is great it feels solid in my hand and the textures are high quality as well. I use the computer A LOT, literally all day. I'm a content creative and software engineer so I've tried a few different ergonomic mouse options and rather than buying a $25 one from amazon AGAIN, I decided to fork up some cash for a 'decent' one. The battery life is phenomenal, I can't remember the last time I charged this thing. It's a great mouse... when it works. I use a Mac, and I basically have to keep the software it comes with open because every now and then, it just stops working randomly. Not sure why. I've noticed sometimes it happens when I open an application, sometimes, in the middle of scrolling. Helps with my wrist pain

I have used the mouse for 3 weeks. It is nice to use and definitely releases of a lot of the strain in the wrist I feel from prolong use of a normal mouse, which is why I bought this mouse. Clicking the main left and right mouse buttons does need a bit of getting used to and has the tenancies of accidentally moving the mouse as you need to press the buttons side ward rather than downward. The buttons on the thumb side are a bit difficult to use. I have to use a bit of the palm to provide the support for pressing the buttons. I used it mainly for work but I tried using it for gaming as well. It does inherit the issues associated with vertical mouse, having buttons pressed inward to the left or right of the mouse. Would be great if they can find a way to have the buttons pressing downward instead by some mechanical transaction of the action. Especially the buttons on the thumb side - there are spaces to have the button closer to the bottom of the mouse which would allow the buttons to be press downwards instead of side wards. For the price, I am pretty sure they can afford to invest in some creative ways to improve the buttons. The ability to connect up to 3 devices via Unified Receiver or Bluetooth is very useful if you want to use it on different devices like me. Lastly, I find that the wheel is of sufficient quality.

My job is almost entirely at my desk on a computer with a lot of clicking and mouse movement. Using a normal mouse, my wrist was literally killing me at the end of the day. Literally ever since I bought this thing, I never have that wrist pain. This mouse took all of 10-15 minutes of getting used to, and it works brilliantly. I dont notice any lag, I can charge it with a USB-C cable, and my wrist sits comfortably at a nice angle. In fact, Id even wish for a second version of this to be at an even steeper angle for better wrist comfort but I digress. If youre getting this just for desk WORK as a job or as a student and youre not trying to game or anything, trust me. This WILL save your wrist that pain. This is my favorite mouse and I bought one for work and one for home because of it. If either break at some point, I most likely will get it again. ONE THING TO NOTE: One thing I only recently noticed is that if you plug a USB storage device into a USB port directly adjacent to the USB port where the dongle of this mouse is plugged into, you may see SIGNIFICANT lag until you unplug that storage USB. Its actually really strange. I dont blame the product itself cuz that might actually be a computer issue itself, but I have noticed that will happen. Once you unplug the USB storage device, it goes back to working 100% flawlessly. Or if you plug it somewhere else in a another port further away. Maybe its just my computer? And its only SOME usb storage devices not all. USB charging or other dongles dont have that effect. Anyway that was worth noting. Outside of that weird quirk, still 100% recommend because this saved me so much pain.
