Upgraded to R500s specifically for Mac but it only worked intermittently. Unusable for professional presentation. Nothing but frustration trying to get support. Support is just someone reading from a screen who has no real knowledge of the product. Still trying to get some sort of resolution.

I bought it for its bluetooth functionality so that I can use it with my Macbook without the need to connect any dongles etc. It was poor. It almost never worked and always lagged even when I was right in front of the computer. If I stayed on a slide for longer than 8 seconds, I would have to press next a dozen times before any slide changes and it would just skip through multiple slides and break my flow. With USB inserted, I had the same issues, just left often.

I generally trust products from Logitech and the R500 does not disappoint! First of all, I love the quick plug and play you get with the USB receiver. Plug it in to a compatible USB port and you are presenting immediately! You can also connect via Bluetooth although I have not tried this yet. I know that I will get more features if I install the Logitech app that goes with this device, but it's a huge hassle to get it installed on my IT managed company laptop. Also, don't forget that the red laser pointer will NOT show up on ANY LCD TV.At any rate, it just works and I love it!

My iPad is ready to go! I purchased the R500 remote so I could easily make presentations with my iPad. It works seamlessly and now I can move about during my presentation and advance my PowerPoint as needed. The buttons on the remote are intuitive too. Some other remotes have confusing buttons - not the R500. I really like that the remote is bluetooth capable as the iPad has just the one port which I sometimes need to use for charging while making presentations. Excellent.
This remote worked exactly as advertised. I was able to customize functions via the Logi software. It was easy to use, set up seamlessly, and intuitive enough that a team of 8 people shared it for a meeting and everyone could work the remote. This made for a much better presentation as no one had to keep repeating "next slide".
This works as advertised, which is what's most important. So if all you care about is getting a presentation remote that works, buy this one. But remotes are not new technology, and there's a lot of competition on the market, so I expected more from a leading brand at a mid-range price. There are no bonus features; e.g., it requires batteries — better bring a spare. In terms of design, it's lightweight and fits the palm nicely, but physically it's just an unattractive lump of plastic. I buy a lot of Logitech products, but this looks and feels cheap, and given the lack of extra features, it should have been much cheaper.
Bought this because of its simple design and possession of just a few buttons. However, it kept ceasing to function after just a few PowerPoint slides. Tried it with multiple batteries, and stood within a few feet of the computer running the presentation. I know the batteries in it were still good because the laser pointer in it still worked; the thing just loses the ability to communicate with the computer. Buy something else.
This resented does the job. It’s nothing exceptional but I enjoy having this as a teacher. I can change slides from anywhere in the room and use the laser pointer to reference anchor charts from across the room. I wish I had splurged a little for the next level presenter. I’d enjoy a stronger laser (so it could be seen on a digital display) and cursor capabilities. But I enjoy this device for what it’s worth.

It was used with a 2017 MacBook Pro at an event with about 10 presenters.
