Using a gaming mouse (G305) as my work mouse has made me a bit critical. The only good thing I can say is that it is silent and has good battery life. The buttons lacks the responsive tactile feel that you get with most mice. Instead if a click, all the buttons feel mushy. The scroll wheel isn't bad. Since it it Logitech, the quality is good. I simply didn't like it. Gave it to a coworker who seems fine with it.

What attracted me to this mouse was it's ability to switch between two systems and work with either the unifying adapter and/or bluetooth. I'm currently using it with two chromebooks using the bluetooth connection. Compared to M325's on other systems it is every bit as smooth and responsive. I highly recommend it.It might not be obvious, but this M590 model is the same as the M585. You can verify this by downloading the user manual. For some reason it isn't as easy to find the M590 model, so finding it here on Staples and being lucky enough to catch it on sale made my day.

M590 is easily the best mouse that I have used because of its flagship features plus silent click. I think the MX series is just overrated because of its promotion over youtube tech reviewers. Almost every single setup video/picture includes those mice. M590 might not be built as MX-3 but it is what a mouse should be: less than $40 and do everything you need SILENTLY. Actually, I prefer the plastic finish on M590 because it is way lighter than the expensive MX series yet it still has the most important features like connecting to two devices simultaneously and transferring files seamlessly.

I researched before buying and got what I wanted, knew what to expect.Pros - small/portable (I use full size for desktop, the Triathlon would fill that gap)Pros - silent, multi device. Thumb buttons. Bluetooth means I free up a usb.Cons - as others have pointed out there can be lag when switching between devices, but sometimes there’s no lag. Usually lags for me going from higher to lower spec laptop, the latter runs like wet cement anyway.Con - after week already some up/down play and noise in mouse wheel. That’s a red flag for me and not my usual Logitech mouse experience.Cons - change device button can be a bit awkward being a small mouse. I can see how people with biiiig hands would be unhappy. I’m a medium glove size and I hold a mouse snug against my palm, not at my fingertips - so it’s a but of digital yoga to hit that button sometimes.Con but not really as it’s not something that it is supposed to be able to do ….. can’t copy text, or a URL and paste to a different device. Yes can copy/paste folders and docs, but not text in a doc. Not that I have been able to figure out anyway.Side note- my slower laptop loses Bluetooth devices on waking from sleep. It lost this mouse and I must restart to get it back. Haven’t had my new laptop or this mouse long enough to see if that happens on it too. I suspect and hope it’s my piece of cheese laptop.
The mouse is maybe a little on the small size if you have large hands or prefer a larger device, but I really prefer this size myself. The motion is extremely sensitive - I would like it better if it had a way to know if the computer was asleep perhaps and not wake the computer up with the tiniest movement (even someone stomping their foot nearby). But the silent button and scroll wheel was the main selling point - it feels like a luxury - who really needs that? - but I will never go back to a regular mouse given the choice. It's just that pleasant not to listen to that pointless clicking sound all day. I assume the effect would be multiplied in an office environment. This is maybe a more trivial/overlooked peripheral but it was a fantastic purchase in my book. ... MoreThe mouse is maybe a little on the small size if you have large hands or prefer a larger device, but I really prefer this size myself. The M590 mouse is working like a champ for me. Glad I purchased• No problems with using it on 2 different computers.• Sensitivity is fine for my graphic design work.• Fits my small hands well.• Clicking is indeed very quiet but tactile enough so I'm not disturbing my sound-sensitive neighbors.• Haven't had to replace the battery yet, and it's been a few months.

In comparison, the M720 Triathlon felt a bit too big in my hand, while the MX Master 2S is way too big for me. I have used the M705 Marathon Mouse for many years and it has been by far my favorite Mouse of all time. But I now needed a Multi-Device Mouse and this M590 is just a bit smaller than the M705 Marathon, so the M590 is just about the perfect size. If they contoured the right side of the M590 and made the material more grippy and added support for a third BT device, it would be perfect in my opinion. The quiet clicks are an added bonus. The M590 Mouse paired easily with all Bluetooth Devices I attempted to connect it to, and it has functioned exactly as expected without fail.I would have bought the MX Anywhere 2S, but I use the middle scroll wheel button constantly to Orbit in Revit, and since the MX Anywhere 2S moved the middle button away from the scroll wheel, it makes the MX Anywhere 2S useless for me, which is a shame since it pairs with 3 devices and felt a bit better in my hand than the M590.Overall, I am very happy with my purchase of both the Logitech M590 and K380, as I think they work very nicely together and are both ultra-portable for on the go readiness. I would highly recommend this product.
M590 is a masterpiece, and I'm pretty sure that Logitech knows that it's irreplaceable. It is not because of its price.I tried to replace M590 with MX mouses, but it failed.1) please make silent options for flagship models..!!! I personally don't think there's ANY drawback of silent keys2) PLEASE make a device-switch button onTOP of the mouse, like M590. I switch devices very often, and trying to press this button on the bottom (MX models) is very troublesome.I think making a new model with these two features, plus upgrade with 3-devices connection, laser, and infinite scrolling, I think Logitech will rip everyone's pocket.I don't know if this review will change anything.. but here goes nothing.
I had had a tiny optical mouse that came as part of a mouse/keyboard combo. It worked & still does in a pinch, but I wanted wireless, the option for Bluetooth & switchability between devices, all with modern support (not good but in danger of phasing out support for devices such as the 10-year-old m525). This one delivers, quietly (much more quietly than the keyboard). My only concern is that the Logitech software is mostly unnecessary (except for switching live between devices; switching profile by mouse button is unaffected except that you need the Logitech software to correct any “device 1” vs “device 2” mistakes), is unavailable on Linux, and looks alternately bloated & set up to track the user across Windows & macOS. So after fixing mistakes, I uninstalled it; native drivers in all OSes work for all buttons with the USB, and it just takes a bit of tinkering (especially in Linux, big surprise) to get all functions to work over Bluetooth. USB is best for bootup & BIOS access.
this is a wonderful mouse. reviews of dropped connection and occasional power downs are not what i experience. quiet. quiet. no click sounds. if that is what you want then don't delay, Logi has this scheduled this mouse for archive. maybe there is something better coming but i haven't found/seen it. if there is then it will have to be one sweet machine to be better than this model.
