Awful volume

I am in the IT business. Been exposed to my fair share of pc speaker setups over the years. Had to pickup speakers for my wife's classroom while she teaches to in class students and at home students. Her regular speakers had an accident and she needed me to help her out. I drove to Staples and picked the pair that had an AC powered sub woofer instead of some other speakers that were USB powered. Wow, was I disappointed. At max volume (software, windows settings and volume switch on unit) it was woefully low. I could have had Quiet Riot or Ozzy Osbourne at full volume and nobody in my house would complain. Had to return.

I have integrated speakers on my computer monitor and the quality of those aren't great for music in regards of bass, especially if you need to hear it for choreography...so I bought these. The subwoofer of this product has a little knob to customize how much bass you want. I have it set around 30 and I'm already satisfied. I also had to play around with the volume (Logitech speaker's physical volume wheel, computer system's volume and application volume, like, iTunes' or Youtube's own volume control). So, you don't even need to have the bass up high in my opinion; you can play around with the volume and you'll be good. This little guy does the job for the price and I honestly bought it for the price even though I read the reviews here lol. Listening to music and video is fine and not a big deal, just gotta get used to the difference (and I did). Positioning/angling the speakers in different areas on your desk might help! All in all: - Good bang for your buck - Does the job (play around with the volume options you have) - Customizable bass intensity - Small and compact (don't judge it's performance based on it's size ;)) - May have to get used to the sound difference (not a big difference nor a big deal to me but again, playing around with the volume options helps A LOT)

I already wrote a comment under another rating but I wanted to share my experiences in a separate rating as well. I bought the speakers in July 2020 and I had trouble with the speaker activity from the beginning on. Either both or (usually) one of the speakers would not play sounds. I thought that might be caused by my soundcard, respectively missing or wrong drivers - but half a year later and after crosschecking all of my hard- and software, I still have the same problems with the speakers. As the signal from the headphone-jack output is constantly clean and equally present for left and right channel, the speakers themselves randomly only distribute signals from one side (either left or right). This happens systematically and reproduceable and I'm not able to explain why. I would suppose a somehow defect wiring but I wonder about the following: From the PC to the headphone-jack, the stereo-signal comes through clean and unaffected. From the box with the headphone-jack to the speakers the signal comes through as well - but either only to the left speaker OR to the right. So both connections seem to work - but not all the time? After plugging the speakers in and out for a few times, chances are the signal comes through on both sides with an equal level. It can happen though, that one side loses the signal again after a few minutes/up to hours, so I have to re-do the whole process... This is a frustrating procedure, as I always need to reach behind my PC to plug the speakers in and out and I'm never sure how long the connection will remain "stable". I'm very disappointed of the purchase and would definitely not recommend buying this product.

With a little tweaks if you're using this for a desktop laptop on Windows 10 turn on bass boost to 100hz and 9db and then turn loudness enhancer on. It sounds like a trunk bass rattling but if you put a heavy paperweight on top it is clear. If you want it for Spotify on your phone just play with it. With a little adjustments this little thing sounds super professional. Only drawback is how close the little speakers have to be to the bass box. All in all it sounds amazing. I bought it for movies pc gaming and especially night time winter sleeping. I recommend skyrim ambience YouTube that. The rain with no music sounds so real last night I had the volume halfway up and on a 10 hour video the thunder would rumble my bed like real thunder. Sounds super smooth and lastly ... MoreWith a little tweaks if you're using this for a desktop laptop on Windows 10 turn on bass boost to 100hz and 9db and then turn loudness enhancer on. Great sound and price, super short lifespan
20 July 2022

Bought these speakers and was soo happy. After about a year of exploitation at home, one of the speakers stopped working. This is not what I expect from Logitech. Very sad to see such trash being made from such a reputable company. Please dont go down the path of HP, they are pathetic.

Great sound system, great price
11 October 2018

I would have given this a full house of stars but for one annoying thing! That is the cables are too short to be in anyway useful. My old 2.1 speakers system which I have had for about 14 years had 6 foot cables for the speakers to attach to the sub woofer whereas the cables on this are only about 3 foot long! Try putting the 2 speakers on the desk and plug the wires into the sub woofer. The sub woofer does pump out some bass and therefore can be prone to vibration so I like to have it on the floor. My solution has been to purchase a 3.5mm extension. On the positive the sound from the 2 small speakers is amazing and unexpected. They really do pump out some volume and the sub woofer does what it should do and pump out that bass. I really do think they are great value ... MoreI would have given this a full house of stars but for one annoying thing! That is the cables are too short to be in anyway useful. Handy Additon to the Office

The speakers were primarily bought to provide better quality sound than that which comes from the built-in loudspeaker on a desktop PC. They do this very well for a reasonable price. The sound is clear and they make speech much easier to understand. When fed with some music, the tweeter units provide stereo spread, and the sub-woofer gives some some bass weight to the sound. At only 14 watts, they were overtaxed by Yevgeny Svetlanov and the Swedish Radio Orchestra belting out Respighi. However, they fulfil the purpose for which they were bought very well.

Some Serious sound!!
10 January 2021

Don't let them up sell you! lol The Z213 is plenty for the acoustically sound person. I stood back, knowing what I wanted as the sales rep. played the price tier above this unit in store. I decided to go with my gut and get this item(Logitech z213) and I haven't and wont regret it. Especially for the price point. I promise for the price this item will leave you laughing later for those who purchased a more expensive 2.1. I'm listening to it now. This thing has it all BASS,MIDS and Lows.... No it doesn't get brain bleeding loud. But, Its the prefect balance between amazing sound and gravitation …. Especially for a desk setup...If your looking to fill 3 rooms of music from your computer, this isn't it. If your the desk user or room DJ.... Get this and you wont regret it!

These speakers are broken out of the box.
31 August 2021

This is by far the worst product i've ever bought in my life, not just for PC. The first one i bought the sound would cut if the wires in the back of the Sub would move a little, i thought ok i got a faulty product no problem i will exchange it. Well im on my 3 pair of speakers now and i gave up exchanging them, all of them have this fault, all of them had wires issue where if you move them the sound cut from one of both speakers. It is extremely annoying. I would not recommend buying these speakers and risking the experience im having. Get another brand at that price or maybe invest an extra 20-40$ and get something that actually works.

Who is it for then ? I'm not sure actually ... Sound is extremely weak (not even 10 watts). Also, as a bonus, the left speaker stopped working after about 2 months. The sound is so weak that it took me several days to notice that the left speaker had died.
