Look Inside Space [Book]

(258 reviews)

This is a great fun flap book packed with interesting information about space, and the amazing things that float through it - stars, moons, comets, and the planets of our solar system. Each double-page spread has a stunning colour illustration, and several flaps to lift to find out more about what's going on in the scene - such as what goes inside the International Space Station, how astronauts visited the Moon and what they did there, as well as the history of astronomy, from Galileo to the Hubble Space Telescope.

Decided to purchase this book recently as I've always loved Usborne books for kids and my 5 year old is increasingly interested in the topic of space. The book is cute and quite interactive which makes learning about the space, astronomy and planets more fun for young kids. However, I was rather disappointed in some gross inaccuracies within the 'factual' content. Most shockingly the heliocentric theory was attributed to Galileo while no mention of Nicolaus Copernicus was made! He was the person who actually came up with it, Gallileo being a mere confirmator of those findings. Secondly: Albert Einstein is named as Swiss national when he was actually German. Luckily for my kids my reasonable level of general knowledge allows me to correct this misinformation. Excellent book. Highly recommended.

Excellent book. Loads of interesting space facts presented in the easy to read and absorb way. Bought for 5 year old girl as a continuation of Tim Peake experience and it does the job. The book has got almost all the answers to space related questions that a five year old child (up to probably 8 years of age) can think off. Highly recommended.

Great book about space filled with various facts and fun lift the flap pages for younger kids. Text size is a little small on some pages otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Great quality interactive kids book
30 January 2019

My 3 and 5 year old love Usborne's Look Inside books. It is closer to my 5 year old's level of understanding but they both love it being read to them and lifting the flaps themselves. This keeps them engaged while learning fun facts. The quality of this book is excellent and such a great price offered on ebay.

Pretty basic space knowledge presented well

If you’re looking for a book with the most possible flaps to lift, look no further! This book has flap under flap under flap. Rest assured, if your little one loves to rip the flaps off their books, this will keep them entertained for hours.Myer, if you’re listening, could you please change your price stickers to be a little more easily removable? You end up destroying half the book cover trying to remove those things!
