If you like Lord of the Rings and you like the traditional game Risk then you really can't go wrong with this combination! The layout/board is a bit different and everything has a LOTR theme, but gameplay is essentially the same. Much fun to be had by all - especially LOTR fans who happen to like Risk too!

I like the game. It has a fun design, and I like how they added the Lord of the Rings elements to Risk. The two seem made for each other! My biggest disappointment is that the board doesn't have the two biggest names from the books/movies: Mordor and Gondor. It's still 100% playable and fun without those two lands, but the nerdy side of me wants to return it so that I can get the "trilogy version" which I believe has them added. I'm a little upset that the company decided to leave Mordor and Gondor out in the first place and that the trilogy edition is more expensive. But oh well.
It's different to ordinary Risk, but can be played as standard. Bit fiddly with army tokens.
We bought this game for our son for Christmas and he was over the moon, loves it and it was great value for money.
Great game, awesome collection of armies, brand new and perfect condition. Both boys love it. The five year old can play with the bits for hours even if he's a bit young to concentrate on the actual game. The nine year old loves it.

If youve ever played Risk and you like LotR then its the game for you. Nice miniatures, solid components and enough flavour to keep you interested.
we thought the board itself was very dark ,hard to view when players are on the board, slows the game down the colours used do not encourage children to play they preferred the older game brighter colours
