My baby has been colicky since day one. She would cry lots and barely sleep. Whenever she did get sleepy I would put her down but her startle reflex would always wake her up. I tried swaddling her with her arms down and she hated it! She would fight her way out of it and then have loose blanket all around her. I found this as a result of desperate internet searches for something that could help my baby sleep. I must say I have found it to be 10/10. It has definitely helped her to get settled and she doesn't startle when I put her down as much. She is 100 times easier to put down. I am integrating it into her sleep routine. So she knows once she is in here it's time to sleep. This definitely has helped me and my baby and I definitely recommend.

This is our swaddle of choice for nap time. My little one loves to sleep with his arms over his head and this allows him to do that without startling himself awake. The quality is impressive compared to other brands I have tried- the Jersey fabric is thick but stretchy, the zippers are good quality, and these fit in all of the right places so I am not at all concerned about the swaddle shifting and becoming a hazard. A boy who refuses naps, loves to nap in his Love to Dream! For those concerned about the fit, the arms are small on purpose to keep baby swaddled tight and the startle reflux in check. My little one is 6 weeks old and in the 97th percentile for height/length. We recently switched from the Stage 1 swaddle to this Stage 2.

Ok so backstory… when my newborn daughter would sleep, never failed she would wake up as soon as we set her down or when she startled. It got to a point where she was sleeping on my chest because I just needed some sleep. Well one night on a whim I purchased this when I was desperate and sleep deprived. I bought about 5 different types of popular swaddles. This was the only one that worked! I cannot say how much I love this now. It has been over a month that I’ve used it and my daughter sleeps through the night in her crib with this all the way through until her next feeding. These have been an absolute life saver. I would have never guessed to purchase this swaddle but I ended up getting more because they are just that great!! This was recommended to me by my cousin and boy has it made such a difference to my little 10 week olds sleep! He's always loved having his hands up by his face when sleeping but insists on scratching his face, poking out his eyes or getting startled and waking up. He can now happily self soothe in his swaddle and we have found his sleep has improved and is now sleeping longer over night (9 hours one night!). My plunket nurse commented on how good they were as well and said how babies seem to understand once they are zipped up that it's bed time and I couldn't agree more! The package came super quick and the price was cheaper than lots of other places too. Highly recommend this product and Winkalotts!
Really love this swaddle! It made all the sense since my baby naturally throws her hands up when she's in a deep sleep. This swaddle also made me feel better about her sleeping since it gives her a little more freedom as a baby instead of the other tighter/cocoon swaddles I originally bought. The only reason I gave this 4 and not 5 stars is because when I feed my baby with it on her arms are in the way that doesn't help during a messy feed, so I need to put a cloth down over top of them instead of taking the whole swaddle off. Also, it's a little pricey for her only wearing it less than 1 month. She grew out of it pretty quickly, so I already sized up! Otherwise, this swaddle is amazing. Definitely helps her sleep at night better.
Our 5 week old has decided she doesn’t want to sleep anymore in her bassinet. We have been on the hunt to try finding the perfect swaddle for her. We have heard such good reviews on this one so we gave it a try. I think she got the worst sleep with this one. I don’t know if the material is what she didn’t like or if it was to thin. It was really tight around her torsos and kinda on her neck. She is only 8 pounds and a small was to small. We only tried it for 2 days and gave up. Even in her deep sleep, when we put her down. She would wake up. She looked uncomfortable in it. If your trying out different swaddles I would still try this one out. So many people love it and just because my baby didn’t. Doesn’t mean yours will. Wish us luck on finding the best swaddle for ... MoreOur 5 week old has decided she doesn’t want to sleep anymore in her bassinet. This swaddle sack is very soft and has a cute pear print. It is easy to get baby into and out of with the double zipper. This makes it good for changing diapers in the middle of the night. I can see how this would be a great option for young babies, who like to have their hands by their face, however our baby is a preemie so on the smaller side but now three months old. He still fits in the weight recommendation, but he is at the point he likes to stretch his arms out and move them around so he was not happy whatsoever in the arms up swaddle as there is very little room for arm movement. If we have another child, I would certainly try this when they were younger as I do think they would be happier and less likely to break out of it than a traditional swaddle. My baby is almost 12 weeks and has never liked his arms swaddled, but lately he’s had itchy skin on his face and no matter how we swaddle him up he escapes and rubs his face which causes extra loss of sleep for all of us. I tried this one out because it looked like his arms around be contained in a good position where it could be natural and comfortable for him, yet limiting so he wouldn’t rub his face… and it worked!! So if you’re in a similar position I’d recommend trying this out. The sizing should be readjusted by the company though those reviews are fairly accurate. We have a Medium and it’s almost too small. I do like the light weight fabric since he’s a Summer baby so he won’t overheat.
A lot of baby items are hopeful attempts at securing baby while addressing things such as startle response and fussiness. My 1 month old didn’t care for it though she seems to prefer a hands up sleeping position. It’s very well constructed. The Jersey fabric is soft and considerably thinner than the fleece swaddle she is used to.I noticed a definite difference between the “securing” aspect of this swaddle and our fleece - normal wrap - version. This doesn’t secure baby as much and as a result allows for excess movement that my baby struggles with while trying to get to sleep and staying that way. This is not to say that this swaddle won’t be appropriate for a later stage in my baby’s development. She current is 21.5 inches and 9.7lbs. Maybe an increase in size ... MoreA lot of baby items are hopeful attempts at securing baby while addressing things such as startle response and fussiness. I do plan on using it later on down the line, but as for now it just doesn’t work.It may work for your baby though.
I was a skeptic about the cost/benefit here but I was shocked at my babies reaction to this! My baby would get upset and seemed claustrophobic when we put her in traditional swaddles. She’d fight them so hard and when ever she woke up at night she’d start fighting it again and was hard to console (even though they did help with the startle reflex). This was a game changer. She loves having her arms up by her face! She doesn’t ever fight this swaddle. I think her legs being free to kick around also helps with her gas! The little arm sections help tone down the startle reflex a lot. We use this for every single nap and bedtime. It’s hard to find time to wash it because she’s in it so much since newborns are always sleeping! I can’t recommend it enough. Love To Dream Swaddle Up Transition Bag Hip Harness Swaddle 1.0 TOG Large / Grey
The Swaddle UP Transition Bag baby swaddle with hip-harness from Love to Dream will effectively keep your baby snugly and comfortable, without the worry of loose blankets to kick off during sleep. This swaddle with hip-harness tailoring is made for babies being treated for hip dysplasia. Due to the extra wide bottom, it fits over the spreader or plaster pants. The hip-healthy design allows the recommended flexion for hips and legs. Swaddling helps your baby to sleep if your baby is restless, cries a lot, has trouble falling asleep and then wakes up quickly. Just place your baby's legs in the leg section, and their arms in the "wings" of the baby swaddle blanket. Wrap the sides over the baby and attach them with the zip over his or her chest. This allows your baby to sleep in a natural position with its arms up. The sleeping bag design also prevents babies from rolling over. Additionally, your little one can access their hands for true self-soothing. This swaddle sleeping bag offers the security that your baby needs to sleep well, but it is not tight and regulates the heat. There is enough space for the baby to move the hips and legs. The transition bag has no cords to come loose or hook and loop fastenings that could injure a baby, but closes with a concealed two-way zipper. When the baby is ready for it you can remove one or both arm wings to get used to sleeping with arms free. To change the diaper you only have to open the zip.
