It is the perfect plane for small scale precision workpieces where a larger plane would be difficult to use or would be too unwieldy, such as model and instrument making. It's also small and light enough to carry in an apron pocket (or in your cargo pants) all day. The low angle bevel-up design is ideal for working end grain, and the required depth of cut is easily set with the threaded depth adjuster – no hammer required! The sole measures 82 mm in length and 32 mm in width. The blade is 22 mm wide and is made of carbon steel that is hardened to HRc62. This small, low-angle block plane is ideal for trim carpentry. At 14 oz it is half the weight of a standard block plane, a big plus if you carry it in your apron all day.
