Lufkin NE830M 8m x 30mm Shockforce Nite Eye Tape Measure

I’m a builder and I am pretty tuff on my tools.This tape has been absolutely awesome as it’s been dropped off 5m scaffold and is still working like a dream.I’ve purchased more expensive tapes in the past and they just fall apart.

Do not buy if your a trade professional

Snapped 1 month after buying got replacement as refund new tape did exactly Same thing after 2 months

Its okay

Very expensive. Didn't last me very long on site. Fell from a 2meter high drop and the tape already has a small rip near the hook. Wouldnt recommend it especially if the reviews online are true from other tradesmens experience.

Not very impressed

After only 3 days of use as a GIB Fixer I was sorely disappointed with this tape. Yes brand new the tape can reach lengths of 4m plus, but after a few days the end of the tape now twists off to the right and I can barely get it out 2m also is does not retract without some persuasion. Not all the time but it does have trouble every now and then. For the price of this tape I will not be recommending it to anyone nor will I be purchasing this tape again.

Outstanding Tape!

I recently got one of these Nite Eye tapes, it's awesome. Loving the black blade, so much easier to read. Can easily see where the tough design is going to make it last better than other ones I've owned.

Overpriced Rubbish

Had it for 1 week, it's already kinked and warped and starting to rip. It's the most expensive tape on the shelf and it's easily the worst I've had in 10 years.

Ultra Tough

1 week into lockdown it took a massive fall onto concrete. Couple of scratches but I was seriously impressed that it still functions perfectly. Such a cool tape.

the construction of the tape measure seems pretty sturdy. I guess it's the only pros.2 cons. The visibility of the marking is bad due to it's mono color.and the marking started to rub off after a month, the marking on my cheaper stanley tape measure that's a year old is in better shape than this. It's probably due to the tape being so curved to support it to stand out at longer distance, it gets rubbed off easily from just pulling and retracting the tape measure.Being difficult to read the measurement, and the measurement marking being rubbed off, I couldn't find any reasons to continue using it after 2months.

nice looking not durable

I purchased this tape to give it a shot after using all the other trade quality brands. It looks awesome and is light but that is really where the positives stopped for me. I found the increment marking to be quite large, this in combination with the fact that there was no difference in any of the numerical markings made it extremely difficult to read. I found myself doing the " 'ol hundy mill trick" on more than one occasion. The markings in the first 1m of the tape also wore out quite quickly. and to add insult to injury the tape was quite prone to kinks and nick and eventually tears. I figured all of these issues might just have been a one off with the tape so I bought the same one and sure enough the same issues sprung up.
