The camera lacks a solid feel to it - it feels a bit "plastic"!But it takes very nice photos and the zoom lens is very smooth and easy to use.

Chose it for close-tele subjects such as butterflies, currently out of season; for macro, attached a 2.9-diopter close-up lens that gives me 3.4x magnification (FF-eq) at a working distance of 13 inches. That'll take some getting used to!The new viewfinder is really good. The lens, though not without issues (CA), is a truly a super zoom. With most of the bells, whistles, and automation turned off, the camera is nimble and responsive. Fantastic, a true bargain!

For the price this is a very good camera. Makes a great backup to your dslr. No need to carry extra lens is a plus. If you are familiar with DSLR setting you will have no trouble getting the most out of this camera. And even if you don't you will still get great quality pictures. Also the zoom is amazing.

I needed a reasonably priced camera that can take 4K videos with optical zoom capabilities. 4K cameras these days are so expensive and if you want it cheap, you would go with unknown brands. This camera is from Panasonic, is well reviewed in in YouTube, records in 4k, and does 60x Optical Zoom. The Zoom on this camera is more than I expected. The 4K videos are sharp and the colors are fantastic. It's not heavy at all, just a bit bulky because of it's zoom lens, but it is very comfortable to hold. It is a good camera to take on travels -- to capture images that your phone's camera can't zoom in.
I upgraded from a small Point/Shoot with 40 zoom to this camera. This one took a little getting used to.There are more bells/whistles, it's bulkier, and I had to keep remembering to take the lens cap off, my previous point/shoot didn't have one.All in all I've been happy with it.
The textured finish on the body makes for a good grip. The viewfinder extends out just a little more to keep your face off the rear screen. The viewfinder is brighter and is easier to see the whole frame. I have used my FZ80 for many years and this update is welcomed. The only thing that is missing is a articulating rear view screen. Great camera and great service from B&H.
Everything you need to open a world of photography.
I've worn out the zoom in my FZ70, what with my multi-year project to inventory the estimated thousand or more of many-centuries-old junipers on my forty acres. Was pleased to find this newer version that is basically the same, but faster, and only weighs a bit more so I can still shoot one-handed while balancing with a walking stick in my other hand. Still lots to learn by studying the user manual. The one negative is that while auto-focusing, the emoji-icons in the upper left corner of monitor are dancing and changing, being a distraction; I am still researching how to get them to go away (including if it will damage the screen to put a piece of black electrical tape over that corner)----I just need the camera to do the focusing, I don't need it to tell/show me it ... MoreI've worn out the zoom in my FZ70, what with my multi-year project to inventory the estimated thousand or more of many-centuries-old junipers on my forty acres. This my second Lumix. I am NOT a photographer - I take indoor and outdoor pictures as part of my work. It may be a learning curve thing, but the photos are not as sharp as expected. FZ80D is bigger and clunkier than the Lumix camera it replaced. I miss the rear articulating screen. The settings are virtually the same. The flash could be better, but editing mostly solves that issue.B&H has been phenomenal. Delivery was timely and packaging was perfect. I like the camera, but I LOve B&H.
love the camera, but still getting use to it...love the big lens...but wish it had an off camera battery charger instead of the built in camera charger...dead battery the camera is OOS until the battery is charged...only my opinion....
