I researched some more and came across the Luvele brand. Looking into the sausage maker I found it had exactly what I needed from the selection of sizes of mincing plates to the stuffing tubes and stuffing plate. I made my first batch with the Luvele Ultimate meat grinder today and celebrating it’s great performance. I am really very happy with it! Chose the luvele ultimate based on peer reviews from various places. My friend (who is a butcher and teaches butchering) and myself gave this machine a workout on the day we got it. We'd previously tried 2 other electric and 2 manual grinders. None of them could cope with the loads getting hot and taking lots of effort to grind manually. We put 5kg of lamb trimmings through it (without stopping) on coarse, then reprocessed with a butchers curry spice mix with sultanas thrown in for good measure and a little iced water, through the same coarse screen as the texture was ideal for lamb. Pushed it into collagen casings and made two large trays of thin sausages (around 5kg). Works well.

Great fun and you can eat what you make.

As is my habit with anything new, I started to use my new machine without really reading up too much about how sausages are actually made. So I bought some beef, some pork ****, a chicken, some skin and flavouring and had a go to see what would come out of the sausage machine. I certainly learned a lot I didn't know before and did end up with a huge pile of odd-sized and delicately flavoured minced meat in sausage skins. But I was the only one in the family prepared to eat them..and they are delicious. The trouble now is that I need to eat ALL of them myself before embarking on the next batch. The lessons I learned were:Never put chicken skin through the mincer.Put in a lot more flavourings.Don't hold back the skins as the mix flows through as you end up with ... MoreAs is my habit with anything new, I started to use my new machine without really reading up too much about how sausages are actually made. The trouble now is that I need to eat ALL of them myself before embarking on the next batch. The lessons I learned were:Never put chicken skin through the mincer.Put in a lot more flavourings.Don't hold back the skins as the mix flows through as you end up with very fat sausages that can rupture when you twist the skins to make the individual sausages. Then again, fat sausages are still delicious!Use the fine grinding wheel as you end up with rather lumpy sausages using the bigger one.You really do need to add rusk to the mixture; I omitted it without fully understanding why it is added.Don't make too many sausages at the same time unless you are really very hungry.Watch some youtube videos on what to do BEFORE you start, not while you are eating the sausages.Make sure to buy enough skins to complete the job. After you've pushed all the mixture into the machine you will end up with ½ a sausage-worth of meat left in the machine. Stick in a slice of bread to push it out so you don't waste it.I do now understand why quality sausages actually cost so much but it is good to know what is in them when you make them yourself.

We have now used our Luvele Ultimate Electric Meat Grinder | Sausage Maker twice now for mincing it is awesome. I notice people had put the comment it was noisy, when we looked at your reviews but seriously it not noisy, for the job that is performs we are mincing twice as fast as our previous brand. The service has been spot on, dispatched same day as we ordered & arrived 3 days earlier than was given as the estimate and we live in Cairns. I would recommend this product to anyone in the market for a mincer. We are now keen to get trying some snags which we have never tried. I have added a photo as well. All we can say is THANKYOU.

Just the thing for snags

I did a lot of research on meat grinders and finally settled on the Luvele. I have been making sausages for over 40 years and previously used everything from hand-cranked to commercial grinders and, for the money, this unit beats everything. Whilst performance, not price, was the driving reason behind the purchase I can say without fear of contradiction that it is a great unit at the price. The speed and quality of the mincing is excellent and even with meat (lamb) at near room temperature, it performs extremely well. I have had the unit for nearly two years and have lost track of the amount of meat I have put through - we make sausages every month and yesterday I minced nearly 40 kg of pork shoulder in 3kg batches. Most of the time I use the 8mm plate and, depending on the type of sausage , sometimes the 12mm. I have found that cold meat minces best when cold and cubed (I take it from the cool room into the freezer for about 1/2 an hour after dicing it in 25-30mm cubes). I sometimes refrigerate the barrel and plates in between grinds and find that after mincing for over 2 hours there is virtually no fat or sinew caught up. The quality of the mince is excellent and it is so easy to monitor the fat content when adding pork back fat to get a consistent mix..On one occasion I found a small amount of waste had accumulated in the auger socket which was slightly difficult to clean however I believe this was the result of meat with a high fat content not being cold enough, something which is easily remedied. With an increasing requirement for minced meat, I have a number of options - buy a bigger commercial mincer or buy more Luvele units - for me it's a no-brainer - more Luvele units! I make this call based on the reliability and robustness of the nearly 2 year old unit I have and the quality of the finished product.

I bought this several months ago when my old manual meat grinder fell apart and wish I'd bought it years ago! It's an absolute pleasure to use, I love it. I make my own raw cat food and what used to take me hours now, takes just minutes. Meat, skin & bones are ground up in no time at all. Very easy to assemble and clean. My cats absolutely love their food. Can't wait to start making my own sausages. Thank you Luvele for a fabulous grinder. Love your company, great products and service.

Many other reviews on here seem to be for making their dog food, I bought this for making my food, specifically burgers and koftes. When this arrived I literally threw my Kitchen Aid grinder attachment in the bin with expectation. This is certainly an improvement on something like that, but no where near a 3x the price improvement.I don't think the grinder itself is very well made, or more precisely, accurately made. The screw and the plates are loose fitting, even when the attachment is chilled, and the ground meat is squeezed into all sorts of places it doesn't need to be, like the threads in the end cap. This makes clean up a pain and wastes short runs of meat. This makes clean up a pain and wastes short runs of meat. It also has a tendency to get caught in the other other end that attaches to the machine, which is almost impossible to clean, and no suitable cleaning brush is supplied. My biggest gripe and it's biggest failure, is dealing with fatty cuts of meat. Beef Short Ribs, Pork Belly and Lamb Shoulder are the basis of my various burgers and kebabs. It fails to handle these cuts properly, and basically strips the fat off the meat and cleverly wraps it around the central screw. This is after both the entire attachment has been fridge chilled, and the cuts themselves been partially frozen. The fat needs to be "unwrapped" from the screw and cutting blades and then manually diced post grinding, annoying to say the least. The larger grinding attachment does produce mince, however the smaller produces more like a mush rather than a nice fine mince. The fine "cutting plate" just collects the fat behind it like I'm making some kind of pate.I am going to try and sharpen the blades to see if that helps, as the machine has plenty of power, but ultimately poor manufacturing tolerances make this a fail. It's not a bad product, it's sadly just not particularly good.

Worked twice, then broke
3 November 2022

First time I used it worked great! Works through the meat easily. 2nd time I used it, got through a couple of kilograms of meat before it stopped working. Being 3 months out of warranty I decided to pull it apart. Seems to be reasonably well made with all metal gears, except for 1 which is plastic. Guess where it stopped working? The plastic gear. The plastic gear was totally worn down. This one is going in the bin.
