Disappointing quality. I've been using M.Graham oils for twenty years. This tube was so unbalanced in its ratio of paint to oil, shaking the tube sounded like the contents of a
water bottle. The viscosity is soupy and unpredictable. I'm baffled at this decline in quality and will be exploring new oil paint brands.

M. Graham paints are wonderful to work with. I use many of their colors in conjunction with other high quality brands such as Williamsburg, Utrecht, and Old Holland. They are
smooth and easy to brush. I notice in the reviews that a lot of people say M. Graham oil paints are made "without solvents" or "without harsh chemicals". Just so people out
there are aware, oil paints, no matter what the brand and no matter what type of oil is used (linseed, safflower, walnut), simply DO NOT EVER contain solvents or harsh
chemicals. Absolutely none of them do. Also, you can easily paint solvent-free using ANY type of traditional oil paint. I use M. Graham walnut oil to clean my brus... Show more

I use several M. Graham oil paints in conjunction with a variety of other brands. The colors are nice and I enjoy the smooth handling of the paint. However, I do want to
mention something to the people who are saying M. Graham paints "have no toxic fumes" compared to other brands. The primary difference between M. Graham and other
oil paint brands is that they use walnut oil instead in their paints rather than traditional linseed oil or safflower oil. However, NO oil paint brand, no matter what the oil is used
in them, emits "toxic fumes". Linseed oil based paints are absolutely just as "safe" to paint with. Also, no oil paint brand, whether walnut oil, linseed oil, or other, r... Show more

Very buttery oil paints with lots of pigment. The paints apply very quickly and use walnut oil to dilute the paints to your needs. The walnut oil is also used to clean your brushes which means not harmful solvents. Great paints that will make a difference in how you paint.... Show more

LOVE this paint!
16 December 2021
I LOVE this paint. Finally I can use oil paint! I am super sensitive to chemicals and smells. Had to paint with acrylics, but just not the same. In the past I could only paint with oils outside. Never in my studio. Now I paint with M. Graham oil paint with Walnut oil. Love it! I do not use the alkyd medium because for me the smell is too much. I just have to wait longer for my paints to dry, but that's okay. The paint is creamy, covers well, goes on lovely. Colors are wonderful. I spritz a little walnut oil onto my pallet then cover it, and am able to use the paints for several weeks. I'm very happy with this paint and have recommended this product to several of my artist friends. I do wish it would go on sale every now and then...hint hint.... Show more

M Graham oil paints are best bought through Blick.
9 August 2024
I'm such a fan of the Blick ordering process. M Graham oil paints aren't always easy to find, elsewhere.Blick makes the entire process easier. Many people use other online merchandisers to purchase their art supplies. There's no reason for me to go anywhere but Blick. Their prices are always equal or lower than any other retailer and the process is seamless. They're always on time and I keep coming back, for good reason.... Show more

One of my favorite go to brands.
18 March 2019
When I browse through the art supply store for paint, I look for mostly single pigments with high lightfast ratings, and on lesser occasions convenience mixtures with good lightfast qualities. I want something that lays down smooth and rich with pigment. It seems a lot of tubes that I end up purchasing and using on a regular basis end up coming from M. Graham. This includes their watercolor paint tubes and acrylics. I'm guessing this is because of their affordable price along with quality results.Due to space restrictions (painting in a 1 bedroom apartment) I don't paint with oils as much as either acrylics or watercolors, but when I do use oil paints I like the effect. Presently I'm using them to paint on 3-D surfaces to get life like flower and leaf effects. Graham. The other blue shades come from either Gamblin (Ultramarine Blue) or Winsor and Newton (cobalt Blue).... Show more

So glad I bought this paint.
24 February 2022
I am EXTREMELY sensitive to smells and chemicals. I could only use oil paint for short periods of time outside. I had to use acrylics in studio where I do the majority of my paintings. Until I found M. Graham. I have painted several paintings in my studio, and I am Not a speed painter by any means. There is no odor, in the Walnut oil nor the paints. I have no reaction to them. I still can not use the Walnut Alkyd as the smell bothers me. Toxic or not, it smells to me. I am the extreme end of the smell meter though, so it may not bother "normal" smellers. lol I highly recommend the paint. It is a very creamy consistency, Awesome coverage and it is wonderful to paint with. The colors are clean and are a pleasure to work with.... Show more

Sweepstake # I would use M Graham paint again, no doubt!
23 May 2022
Sweepstakes# M Graham oil paints are creamy, easy to spread and a great company to deal with. I contacted them and requested a color chart of the various paint colors they carried. I found them to be extremely helpful over the phone. Within a few days I received a color card, ordered the items through Blick and in no time was trying out their product. I use walnut oil as a medium and find that M Graham oil paints compliment my medium. The color selection are adequate for any oil painter, beginner or professional. Compared to other major brands and I've tried them all, M Graham rates among the best. Labeling information is easy to read. Caps are large, which I love compared to other brands and go on and off with ease. I would highly recommend M Graham paints. The perfect olive green
27 August 2024
I love and respect the Graham brand, made with walnut oil. This is the perfect olive green I have found, and I have been relying on it for years. It is not cold like other olive greens I have tried, or too 'green'. It is perfect for shadows on flesh tones, and to provide depth and temperature contrast to the brown, sienna shadows. I love how deep the color is, and its semi-transparency. I add it to many color mixtures.... Show more
