I was utterly surprised when not only was I selected to receive the products through influenster, but also when I received not one but two shades! The two shades I received are Ruby Woo and velvet Teddy. After trying each shade I have to say I am really sold on the new formula! The lipsticks provide full coverage pigment in one swipe. They are extremely comfortable to wear on the lips and feel so lightweight. I don't even feel like I'm wearing a lipstick! I love that the formula is matte but not drying or crusty. When applying, it almost feels like a satin lipstick, but it dries down after about 30 seconds. However, even with a lip gloss on top, I find that the product still lasts a very long time before requiring reapplication. I also really love the black packaging of the mac lipsticks. They're sleek, elegant, and simple, and look excellent on a vanity. The price point for the product is quite high, however on par with other high-end makeup brands found at Sephora. I personally feel that the price tag on the product is worth it and that if you were to purchase it, you wouldn't be disappointed. I would happily recommend this product to my friends and family.

Fabulous Matte Formula

I received the MAC MACximal Matte lipsticks in Ruby Woo And Velvet Teddy for free from Influenster to try in exchange for my honest review. This formula is fabulous! It is hydrating with a slightly satin finish while still having the colour payoff and staying power of a matte lipstick. It did not dry my lips out and most importantly it did not stick to any dead skin on my lips or make it darker like some other matte lipsticks do. It is very lightweight, I don't really feel it on my lips. Both shades really suit me so I will get a lot of use out of them. I did not use a lip liner and I was impressed that there was no bleeding or feathering for both shades. It lasts all day. I can really tell that the team put attention to the lovely smell of this product. It was an almost cocoa butter meets Hershey's White chocolate. Both me and my collaborators loved the scent but that is where our awe dwindled. The packaging, while trying to be nostalgic, had several mismatching fonts that had no cohesive theme that left the unintended impression of an identity crisis. The bullet or cigar shape of the lipstick was fine until my male contemporary said it looked similar to something that might be used for bedroom activities; which was an offset to me personally, but might be a selling point to a different demographic. I loved the detail of the MAC emblem on the lipstick as well as the ease of use. I received both the Velvet Teddy and Ruby Woo and I love both!The Ruby Woo is such a stunning red shade, which is surprising for me because I like quiet colours but this colour is loud for sure.
