This is a nice concealer: good texture and easy to apply. But I was slightly disappointed. Previously, I'd used the Studio Finish Concealer with SPF35 (came in a small pot/mini compact) in NC10. I was a little disappointed that this type of concealer is no longer available, but never mind... What was more surprising was to find that the NC10 in the Studio Fix 24-Hours Smooth Wear Concealer was noticeably different from the NC10 in the older Studio Finish. Not to the extent that I won't be able to use it, but the new NC10 is definitely lighter and "whiter" than before and with less pink in the undertones. Perhaps it was naive of me to assume that the colours assigned to the various codes would remain unchanged (at least within product categories) but I was a little ... For this reason I started to seek products that address my skins needs. Enter Mac cosmetics. What makes this so interesting is the fact that in my 20s and 30s their make-up broke my skin out. But now matches and addresses my need effortlessly. I wear NC50 in the powder and concealer. It took a little effort to learn to use this product correctly as I never used a concealer before. But after watching a few videos and understanding this is to be used as a concealer and not a foundation I have mastered application with pleasing results. I spread it on the back of my hand to show how the formula looks, at the bottom of my wrist it is completely blended out so you can see it does sink into your skin effortlessly. I tested it out under my eyes, I tend to have purple/blue veins under my eyes from years of stress and lack of sleep. This helps cover the area up nicely. Don't use too much though because a little bit of the product goes a long way. I also tested it out on some discoloration I have from past acne, and it seems to cover those up nicely as well, I use two layers to cover that and one layer under my eyes. This did seal the deal in that I realized I need something that grips more to hide my hyperpigmentation and acne. I got the shade nc35, which matched my skin perfectly. I have a sort of neutral light medium Asian skin with olive tones to it that gets oily by the end of the day no matter the amount of skin prep, primer, and setting powder and spray I use. When I first used this product, it was perfect at hiding everything. It was like acne who? But perhaps I did not build up the concealer in enough layers or set it with enough powder but by the end of the day, my hyperpigmentation was showing. Overall, I do like this concealer. ... I've used the studio finish concealer for years and love it. Thought I'd try this one, but it just doesn't compare to the studio finish. The coverage with this is more sheer and takes more product to build up enough coverage, but by then it starts to look cakey. It also dries a lot faster so requires very quick blending. Overall much prefer the studio finish for both coverage and usability.Although I didn't like this as a blemish and complexion concealer, I also bought it in NC10 (which is slightly lighter than my usual NC15) to use under my eyes as a brightener and actually really liked it for that purpose! However I see that shade has been discontinued. What a shame. I can't really see any reason to use this concealer over the studio finish now unless NC10 ... The coverage with this is more sheer and takes more product to build up enough coverage, but by then it starts to look cakey. It also dries a lot faster so requires very quick blending. Overall much prefer the studio finish for both coverage and usability.Although I didn't like this as a blemish and complexion concealer, I also bought it in NC10 (which is slightly lighter than my usual NC15) to use under my eyes as a brightener and actually really liked it for that purpose! However I see that shade has been discontinued. What a shame. I can't really see any reason to use this concealer over the studio finish now unless NC10 become available again.
