I have 3 of these. I purchase the men's instead of women's because I like the sleeve and torso length of the men's cut. The men's XS translates pretty well to a women's 10 or medium for me. I've worn these thermals into the ground - trail running, cycling, casual wear and at home. This top plus a t-shirt is the perfect travel combination for flights and long train rides. There's a few rips in one of them after several hundred wears over the last 3 years but other than that I have no complains. A great value purchase and a staple for my winter wardrobe. Washing on a delicates cycle with earth choice wool wash and line drying has helped maintain them.

I wouldn't normally bother writing a review. But these thermals are fantastic. Incredibly comfortable and warm. Also requires minimal washing, you can wear it for days and it doesn't get smelly. Also disagree that they size large, I had to go up a size to what I would normally wear and get the large top and XL pants. So definitely recommend trying on in the store.

I'm very pleased with the fit of this top (the sizing chart is accurate) and its warmth. I have a slightly longer body than normal and it easily covered down below my waistline. You might think the sleeves are a bit long and that the seams have split at the end but this is a design feature so that you can slide your thumb through to keep the sleeve from sliding up your arm. This is well demonstrated in the video.

Great, warm and well made merino shirt
11 August 2022

A great, warm and well made merino shirt. A favourite and I have tried a number of brands. Make sure that you check the sizing because they are generously sized.

Keeps you warm but...
7 November 2021

As a warm base layer these merino tops are unbeatable but they do not have longevity. The tops are washed in quality front loading washing machine (Bosch) on the wool setting and half way into the second winter small holes develop. For the retail price you pay I'd expect something with a bit more staying power.

Love Macpac merino tops!
8 October 2022

An excellent top like all the MacPac merino products. The breathability is great and means it can be worn again and again. This top is great for slightly cooler conditions than the 150. Also like the thumb holes in the sleeves

Macpac needs to review their sizing
15 April 2020

Sizing is large. Purchased a medium online, exchanged for extra-small in-store. While the arms are now a little tight (but long) the body still feels slightly loose for thermals and is also quite long. I noticed the extra small had seams in the sides of the body.... I'm sure the size medium had none??I can't comment on the quality or durability at this stage, but the price was ok.

Perfect for cold Canberra days
28 July 2021

I love the fact that all Macpac tops are long as I have a long torso and they are plenty long enough for me. They are also comfortable and warm I play gold early on cold Canberra mornings and always wear these tops with something else over the top. That's all even when it is -5

Poor sewing. Holes after 2nd "hand wash"
24 August 2022

After 2 wears the cloth started to pull away from the neck seam. It has created a hole and is getting bigger. I hand wash all my woollens, so it's not from rough washing. The product is now mass produced. Not too happy with this at all.

We have really put this to the test
16 December 2022

Good to review after 5 months. Taken on camp during Sydney winter. Run through washing machine multiple times by 14 year old son. Also taken in recent trip to Japan. Worn on 3 consecutive days before washing. Still fresh feeling. No complaints of itchiness from teenage boys. Worth the expense - bargain when on discount. Actually own 6 of these (for 3 boys).
