The Atlas is a workhorse that can carry all you need. It's made from our AzTec canvas for durability and weather resistance in any environment. This tightly-woven fabric pairs polyester with organic cotton and treats it with a weather resistant finish. There's a laptop sleeve in the main compartment and two zipped pockets on the front. Side bottle pockets keep fluids away from books and devices, and there's also a reflective patch with bike light loop. Perfect for carting books, devices and lunch to and from class — plus a pair of shoes and extra kit for the commute or workout after. A hard-wearing day pack made from our AzTec canvas. For everything from the school yard to the daily commute.

A versatile and waterproof backpack well suited to motorcyclists

This is my third Macpac backpack and second using the Aztec fabric in about 5 years. As a motorcyclist, the fabric is near waterproof even in heavy rain and without a rain cover. The Aztec backpacks are extremely well made, and I appreciate the number of pockets on this backpack, as well as the external drink bottle holders. I also like the securing clip across the chest linking the straps; this particularly helps keep the backpack still when riding. I also find the 24L size can fit a significant amount of items without feeling too bulky even when full.

I am still using an older version of the Atlas from 2015 and the bag is going strong.I particularly like the fabric used on this bag and i carry it everyday, including for overseas work travel.I also bought a Boulder 28 L day pack but that is forgotten in my store room. Although it states 28 L, the Atlas packs more efficiently and i can put more in it; or so i feel.Recommended purchase, one of my straps had frayed and i am contemplating if i should get a new Atlas.

Great for one bag travel
2 April 2018

I have just bought this bag and I'm very impressed. Admittedly I'm a minimalist traveller, but this bag easily holds all I need for two days or two months travel. The pockets are really well set out, allowing easy access to essentials like phone charger, glasses, book etc. The main compartment will easily hold your clothes and computer. Loaded up, it carries well and the material is very high quality - and I expect very durable.I researched for quite a while to find a top bag, and I think this is it. Good price too!

Hard to beat EDC
2 December 2016

Pros: Holds a 64oz - 2 LtrKlean Kanteen in side pockets not many packs can do that. The Aztec matrial is the Eco version they don't say this but that means it's an 8oz /270gsm fabric - highly durable, pliable, and water resistant - they should say that on the ad. Pockets besides 2 water are 1 front large vertical pocket the full size of the front panel, a top loading small pocket with key fob and this has 2 pen pockets, 2 pouch pockets, and a zip pocket great for wallet, phone, passport etc. Then main compartment where the laptop sleeve is its huge folks I packed it out with shoes, 4 pairs socks, 5 pairs pants, 1 trouser, 1 polo, 3 shirts, 1 sweater, laptop in cleeve and power cord. The Cons: play the laptop sleeve is poorly designed the bag sits squarely flat on ... MorePros: Holds a 64oz - 2 LtrKlean Kanteen in side pockets not many packs can do that. The Cons: play the laptop sleeve is poorly designed the bag sits squarely flat on the ground the pocket runs to the bottom no real protection there, serious design fault - wake up designers it should be recessed a good 20mm and extra 10mm of foam padding. Room for improvements increase capacity, otherwise this bag is a brilliant EDC, work, school, and travel pack. Great front grab handle for lifting out of overhead bins/lockers, harness and comfor level is good and I am a big guy 6'2" 230lbs it fitsand no stupid unnecessary waist strap for the price this is truly unbeatable.

Hard to beat!
4 December 2016

Great EDC and travel backpack. Pros: material and construction, it carries a 2 Ltr Klean Kanteen - seriously, 2 external entry pockets main front and top, with internal pockets and key fob. Harness and straps are seriously comfortable. Main compartment holds not only laptop, but i stuffed shoes, 4prs socks, 5 prs pants, 1 trouser, 1 polo, 1 heavy cotton sweater, and 3 shirts in there no real problem. Wow that's enough for me to travel and live on. Only con is the laptop sleeve they have clearly not considered end users here the sleeve goes straight to the bottom of the bag and needs extra padding or to be recessed. Wish they had a slightly bigger version but learning to live and travel light this bag is so well made and hard to beat.

Macpac Bag

Love the bag but have realised that the macpac embroidery is starting to fray..I love the bag though, tough, sturdy and can hold everything I need for the day. And also hard wearing..

Practical and servicable
10 July 2023

This backpack has loads of room and is very comfy. What stopped me giving it five stars: I would have preferred more internal pockets with zips inside the main pack. The bag I wanted was no longer available, so this was my second choice. It would also be nice if there were more colour options.

Warranty claim on shoulder strap
16 June 2021

Had it about 7 weeks when stitching on right shoulder strap failed and about 3cm undone. You could see the material was cut too small and the stitche holes were right on the edge of the material. Took it back, and the shop manager said we will send it away to get fixed, how the material was too small in the first place. Now I don't have a work bag waiting and wondering how they are going fix it.

Well made, very comfortable
13 May 2022

I've owned this pack for 8 years and it is as sturdy as the day I bought it. Super comfortable, well made, and has all the sleeves and zips you need for work/school/travel/commuting. It's definitely a commuter/casual bag so doesn't have any hip support for heavier loads, but does a great job for its intended use.
