I bought this jacket online and it's good but the fit is not so good. The length is right, but the sleeves are narrow (even with my skinny arms) and made worse as the seams aren't flat. There is not much insulation in the jacket and I can only fit a light mid-layer under it, which will limit how it can be used. It was originally going to be a casual jacket but after seeing think it is more formal, even good enough for the office, but only in Spring or Autumn and not Winter.It does really well at cutting the wind, have not tried it in the rain.It is made in China.

Macpac Men's Chord Softshell Jacket has proved to be a worthwhile purchase. Have worn it during recent road trip and it will come in very handy when travelling overseas next year.
The Chord is a smart, windproof, warmish soft-shell jacket that can do double duty at work and play. Unfortunately the Macpac designers put a seam along the top of the shoulders. Unlike it's cousin the Sabre, which features a cape design across the shoulders, the Chord leaks through this seam very quickly. So close but no cigar...
Love it! Simple yet super functional jacket. It’s not a head turner but you will get compliments for its elegant business casual style.
I am shockingly unimpressed by the quality of this jacket as the zipper plastic came off the front after a week of wearing it. It also has thread loose all around the inside seaming and I can’t really take it back during covid. Pretty disappointed as I usually always shop macpac but this must of been a faulty jacket
