Very water proof!!!Even the zip is water proof although I wish it were a 2 way zip as the bottom of the jacket is elasticated and always rides up to look mushroom shaped and never sits flat and nice same with the sleeves. Not a flattering shape at all, very square and puffy but it gets the job done!Fits very nicely into it's own pocket and into my bag with still being a proper good quality 100% water proof and wind resistant rain coat.Hood folds away nicely and Zips into the collar, I hate hoods so it's great!Keeps you a lot warmer than you think, I have recommended them to all of my sports club.It is a very noisy fabric so people will hear you coming! My Cats and Horses get spooked by the noise and it flapping in the wind.

I'm a short stocky lady and needed the width for my hip area. I bought the XXL for that reason. The sleeves were way too long, but with a needle, scissors and time, I shortened them. Now it's perfect. Pack in a pocket and swing from your backpack. Way to go.

Packable and keep rain out. But not very breathable so not so great in warm humid weather. Hood can do with a structured brim to keep rain off the face. OK to buy when on special, otherwise spend more for something better, or spend less and don't set product expectation too high.

Love this little rain jacket. It is my second one as I replaced one that I had worn out. Super light and packs away small for travelling. Plenty of pockets, nice long length and the hood doesn't blow off in the wind.Handy to have in your bag for those unexpected showers.
I had high hopes after buying MacPaint products for over a decade…. I bought this around a year ago and have tried to give it the benefit of the doubt…..But this jacket is rubbish. Yes packs small, zips good quality, but is not water proof in any way so defeats the purpose of having it. The slightest hint of any light showers and within minutes seeps through to wet your layers below. Water repellant means it should cope with a light shower for extended periods in my eyes. Not happy with this product at all.
Not as I expected. I had seen a friends Mac pac which is much softer than the one I purchased. Mine is like a normal old raincoat. Admittedly my friends was purchased in NZ, so may be different to here in Australia. I regretful purchase but too late to return for refund.
My last one of these pack-it jackets from Macpac was great: fluoro yellow for visibility, lightweight and packable into a small bundle, ventilation under arms and out the back along the shoulder blades.I had it for years, now my son has "acquired" it. Even tho' there is no bright yellow in this current range, I thought the orange would be close enough. Turns out it's a kind of dark orange, not so good for night visibility or bush visibility. Also, no ventilation in the underarms, in the back or anywhere actually - so it's quickly a sweat-fest if you are moving while wearing this jacket.Packs up nicely tho', serves to keep wind and light rain out. Looking forward to the prior design and colour range returning one day.
Water-resistant means what exactly? I bought this for when out in very light showers or misting conditions. Any resistant quality of the material wore off very quickly even though I always kept stored away from heat and direct sunlight. Many other MP items work well. This does not and is reminiscent of MIC $2 jackets you can buy in the markets of SEA.
Perfectly fit for my purpose. The quality of the jacket is excellent and it is the perfect weight for adventures in South East Queensland in Autumn & Winter. It packs very small, it's incredibly light weight and permanently sits in the corner of my day pack. I use it as a layer for cold morning starts and the random shower that may blow past. Additionally, it is a good windbreak when reaching the summit of the climb, as one takes in the view. In my experience, when adventuring in QLD, if it rains in Spring/Summer, I just get wet rather than put on a light-weight spray jacket. I find that if I put on a spray jacket during those seasons, the sweat created from the minimal breathing jacket...makes it rain on the inside...saturating me anyway. Overall, this is excellent ... MorePerfectly fit for my purpose. The quality of the jacket is excellent and it is the perfect weight for adventures in South East Queensland in Autumn & Winter. A fantastic jacket. It got a very good workout over a very wet week in Queensland and was excellent. Light to wear but very water proof, quick to dry and then neatly fold away. Definitely recommend as a light weight emergency rain jacket. Peter K
