Perfect for pies. I made a savoury mince to be used as filling for mince pies as a quick snack to eat on the go. I cooked the mince as I normally do, fried with a bit of garlic, onions, chopped tomatoes, carrots, peas and corn and used a gravox thickener. I did notice that there was a discernable amount of fat that was residual in the pie maker once cooled. It did not detract from the flavour. The texture of the mince was soft once cooked. Priced at $10 per 500 Grams for this Australian product. The pies were yummy, thanks to the good quality of the mince which should be a staple in most households due to the nature of meals that can be made from this versatile product. Definitely on my shopping list for further purchase.

Good quality mince! Mince is always a versatile ingredient in many recipes! Savoury Mince Casserole, Sausage Rolls, Burgers, Spaghetti Bolognese, Lasagne, pasta etc.... We don't usually purchase this Macro brand, but we we pleasantly surprised with it. The quality was comparable with the lean versions we normally purchase, when buying mince. I made a batch of Sausage Rolls, using this recipe I love! (See attached) They're easy to make, quick & delicious. They were given the "thumbs up" by all the family! If there are any left overs, they can also be frozen, to be defrosted, re-heated& eaten at another time! The packaging was also good for the environment.. Eco friendly!

Quality mince. I picked this one up by accident instead of my premium mince sample as they look very similar. Only a dollar in price difference. This one is a fattier mince, but quite tasty. Do like these grass fed products, definitely can taste the difference worth paying the extra dollars for the quality. The packaging is easy to open and the bottom cardboard tray is recyclable once taking both layers of plastic off. Made some gozleme for dinner with this mince and turned out well, tasty and juicy. Would recommend and would consider purchasing again

Good quality mince. I liked the fact that this mince is from pasture raised cattle and appreciate the clever packaging that can be separated to remove the cardboard. It is on the expensive side per kg though. When I fried it, the mince browned and broke up easily with not too much fat left in the pan. I couldn't see a % fat content on the packaging. This would be nice to know - I'm used to seeing it on the packs of mince on the shelf. I made some 'Chow Mein' with it and it was very tasty. Would buy again.
Deliciously beefy. TasteMince had more beef flavour than the regular beef mince I've tried before. Made for tasty bolognaise or even when just stir fried with some carrots, celery and added thyme. However it's slightly fattier mince than I am used to (but that may be because I cook with pork more than beef). Generally grass-fed is meant to be the healthier option right?PackagingRecyclable packaging and easy to openRepurchase ValueIt's a bit pricey but I would consider purchasing this on the rare occasion. Like I mentioned before, my household cooks more with pork than beef but we don't mind mixing things up a little occasionally. Thank you Bunch for letting me try this sample!
Good beef mince for boly. Its beef mince, the fat to meat ratio is good without gristle. It is watery and lacks the depth of flavour when compared to a high quality butcher. However it is good value for the price. I wouldnt use it for a burger cooked rare but its decent for bolognaise or burrito etc. Not quite sure why is macro, aren’t cows normally free to roam? Are the woolies cheaper mince products full of hormones? Not sure what the difference is between this product and the standard mince? Maybe fat to meat ratio?
Packaging doesn't withstand freezing. Gday WooliesI ended up freezing my sample. I always buy mince and freeze it so I have a constant supply to feed the magpies. I did what I normally do with your plastic trays and took it out of the freezer and popped it in the fridge to defrost. Come back later looking for snacks and there was red stuff everywhere. I didn't connect the dots and thought my wine exploded - nope she was safe thank gawd. It was the mince leaking blood everywhere through the cardboard packaging!! All over my cheese. What a crime. So whilst the product is fine, the packaging doesn't suit my needs. I will have to ziplock the packet if I buy one again. I'd rather have the plastic tray as I reuse those quite a bit! 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐Ya lost a star for making me clean ... MorePackaging doesn't withstand freezing. Gday WooliesI ended up freezing my sample. A bit fatty in taste. The beef mince is not as lean as the one I usually buy, therefore I could really taste the extra fat in the meat. I prefer a leaner mince which is healthier. I made hamburgers with the mince. Looking at the mince, you can see the fat through it. On the up side, I like the features, grass fed, from Australian free range cattle, with no added hormones. No artificial colors or flavors, big tick. I like how you can scan for the full story on grass fed, it is good to know the how and where and the story. I really like the packaging, the green color stands out, it is recyclable, I like the information that Woolworths gives with its recycling to help with the environment. I feel that Macro is keeping forward with recycling. If they were to put out a ... MoreA bit fatty in taste. Top quality mince. We have purchased this mince on many occasions and have never been been disappointed. I have used in a variety of ways from the humble family favourite rissoles and spaghetti to to curry puffs and pies worked beautifully in all dishes. The mince was a beautiful balance of lean and fat meat thus making it not overly fatty as with some other mince products. It is a little on the expensive side although I was lucky enough to pick up a reduced one in this instance it will certainly be worth paying the extra money for such a good mince. I didn’t quite understand the amount of packaging used and had to wonder how much extra this packaging contributed to the overall price. Will I purchase this product again? Absolutely.
Flavour plus. This took a few weeks to come into stock in any of my local stores but checking online I could see it was a state wide supply issue. I was happy to see when it finally came in. I turned this into a bolognaise sauce with grated vegetables, black beans, corn and bacon. My kids + an extra all enjoyed it and tonight they will be having the leftovers on corn chips as nachos. We thought the flavour was spot on. More 'meaty' than other mince brands. I also didnt seem to tip as much water out of this mixture as some other brands. I'm not sure I'd pay $10 for this packet but if I ever see it on special I will purchase it. I really like the new packaging. I have also bought a porterhouse steak in the same style of recyclable packaging. Thanks Bunch
