Macro Natural Cashew Spread 250g

Healthier alternative to peanut butter. I tried this on toast with butter first then cashew spread and a drizzle of honey on top. I loved it. Similar texture to smooth peanut butter but tastes better. I'm not a fan of peanut butter but I do enjoy this. Not sure if I would buy again for $8. 00, we usually buy the cacao nut butter one in the macro brand which my kids love. Just make sure to mix through before using to distribute the natural oils. Slightly sticks to your mouth but so does any nut butter. Nice mild, nutty cashew flavour.

Nice alternative to peanut butter. Staple in the pantry as a sub for peanut butter, the jar would be lucky to last a week in our house with a toddler who loves to lick it off the spoon. It’s definitely not as salty or sweet as peanut butter but is a nice alternative. It’s quite thick and needs a good mix. When getting to the bottom of the jar it’s almost too thick and dry to consume so make sure it’s always thoroughly mixed when opened to avoid the bottom drying out. Yummy on a rice cake or toast, with celery or in bliss balls and slices.

Nice change from peanut butter. This was easy to find in store with the other spreads. We tried this on toast instead of peanut butter and it was a nice change. The texture is nice and smooth, but we did need to give the jar a good stir because it had separated with an oily layer on top, as is normal for nut spreads. The cashew flavour was subtle but very enjoyable. Made in Australia from imported ingredients, and the jar and lid are recyclable. At $8 this is quite expensive, but so are cashews. Not sure we would buy again due to the price, but enjoyed trying it.

The spread is very smooth, I would have preferred a chunky or crunchy version to give it a better texture in your mouth. It is made in Australia which is very good but unfortunately contains no Australian cashews and the origin of the nuts is not given. This is IMPORTANT for me. Cashew spread has the same kJ value as some 100% peanut spread. I would suggest that the serving size is too small, peanut spread serving of 1 tablespoon or 22g is more realistic than cashew spread serving size of 10g. Marvellous Macro 100% Cashew Spread. I’ve had this Jar of Woolies Oh So Natural Macro 100% Cashew Spread in my cupboard for sometime. I only opened it the other day as I had run out of my normal peanut butter. Upon opening the jar the first thing I noticed was a lot of oil sitting on the surface which I nearly accidentally spilt it out. Once I stirred it in and through the Cashew spread I made myself a Cashew sandwich. Wow the taste is amazing. So creamy, smooth and delicious Needless to say I’m now a convert. Everyone in my family has tried The Macro Cashew Spread and enjoyed it mostly on toast. They spread it thickly on the toast which made it warm and slightly runny. Yummo might have to have some more.

Gives smoothies an earthy nutty edge! I am a nut fiend and enjoy peanut butter regularly. I have purchased this product before and do not find it as good to eat in place of peanut butter. I use it more so in making sweets and recently I popped a spoonful into the blender when I made a banana and date smoothie at home. I loved the result, it added a nutty earthy edge to the otherwise sweet smoothie. I appreciate that it is simply cashews with no nasties added. I also like the Made in Australia tag but it is disappointing that the ingredients used are imported. Will continue purchasing this item!

The second thing I noticed was it is not oily at all, nothing like a natural peanut butter with a layer of oil this was very well mixed and consistent. I had some in my vanilar protein shake and gave it a nice nutty flavour smooth and thick. We also tried some on a crumpet and sits nicely into the warm crumpet. Only downside is if you don't like these type of natural nut product spreads this isn't for you either it has the same mouthfeel as other nut only spreads you will still have that tacky feeling in your mouth which we didnt mind as a flavour of this was very good. A bold baker’s buddy! This product is perfect for baking. I add this to cakes and loaves all the time. I particularly like it as a secret ingredient in banana bread. I added it once as I thought peanut butter and banana are such good friends so I bet on cashew spread giving the banana bread a nutty earthy element. Happy to report I was right! If making a cake for an older person, it is also good as quite often it is difficult for them to consume whole raw nuts. As such, I keep a jar in the pantry on hand and it always pulls through!However I do not eat it as I do peanut butter ie I do not spread it on toast or crackers. I think this item shines as a bakers resource rather than a peanut butter substitute. Will continue re-purchasing as required.

With two young children (one just starting to eat solids) I like products that have simple ingredients. 100% cashews is about as simple as it gets!Without additives the oils separate so it needs a stir before using. Unfortunately this resulted in oil down the side of the jar onto the bench which was a bit messy. I served it on toast soldiers (with a thick serving for me and a thin serving for my baby). We both liked it, but the mess is a bit annoying. Given I love cashew nuts I found the cashew flavour not particularly overwhelming. I'm not sure why - could it be made with tasteless cashews, or does the process of making it into a paste lose flavour??I don't think I'd buy this product in the future when a cheaper and more mainstream nut ... MoreYummy peanut alternative.
