Creamy Healthy Milk Alternative. Price was reasonable but did have difficulty trying to find this on the shelf. Checked Health Food Section then where other coconut milks are normally located with no luck. First try in the long life milk section I couldn't find it but then discovered on a second visit slightly hidden behind a post or shelf fitting. I loved that it has no added sugar and is made in Australia from at least 78% Australian ingredients. I normally buy coconut milk for using in dishes like curries and normally in a tin so this was the first time in this carton format. I used it both in cooking and tried it as a drink. I also like that it wasn't overly sweet while still having a nice flavour so was a nice refreshing light drink just as it was. It also did a perfect job when I used it in cooking. My only negative and concern is that it only has 12% coconut milk which probably explains the weaker coconut flavour. There is also brown rice listed in the ingredients and I have no idea why. Other coconut milks I checked out were simply coconut and water which is what I'd prefer. Overall I was happy with the flavor and consistency and price, but probably wouldn't buy again if there's a similarly priced product that is purely coconut and water and doesn't have the other ingredients (organic brown rice, calcium carbonate and sea salt) listed in this product. It does the job but I much prefer a more purer form of coconut milk even if this is certified organic.

DIFFERENT ALTERNATIVE TO MILK. I tried this product on it's own, and didn't know if I liked it or not. But then I decided to try it when I was using my Easiyo yogurt mixes to make my own yogurt. I had a coconut flavour in the pantry and decided to use half this milk and half water (instead of all water to the mix) and it actually made a nice thicker yogurt mixture and added an extra coconut taste as well. I then tried it out in smoothies and liked the taste so much better, it is great with bananas or even with honey added to it. I would not use it for milk only but would use it again for the receipes that I have mentioned. Thanks for giving me a chance to try as it is not something I would buy normally.

% of coconut low. Was expecting a stronger coconut smell/taste as i wanted to use this in a laksa. So i opted to use this milk to make sweet smoothies and it was goid for tgis purpose. Not tasting out of the ordinary. If the % of coconut in this milk was higher it would be more true to taste. This milk only has 12% coconut. The % is what i always look for when buying nut milk as otherwise you’re just paying for water and other additives. Due to this reason alone i wouldnt buy this product again. However, there was nothing bad tasting or poor quality about this milk. No chalk like aftertaste like some nut milks have.

Fine if needed. I had not had coconut milk from a carton before and mistakenly first tried to find it with the canned coconut milk. Once I realised it was with milk substitutes I found it. I used the coconut milk with mashed banana to make ice blocks for my daughters. It was a nice combination and they really enjoyed it. I tried the milk on its own and it tasted as I expected, sweet light coconut. I did not find it appealing as a drink on its own and cannot imagine adding to cereal, fortunately I am able to drink cows milk so do not need an alternative. My daughter said it was bad when given a glass to try. I will be able to use some in a smoothie and some more ice blocks. I will freeze some too to be able to add to smoothies at a later date as I won't be able to ... MoreFine if needed. Easy to find, reasonable non dairy milk alternative. This product was very easy to locate in-store and was located in the shelf stable milk section with al the other non-dairy milk alternatives. We are regular consumers of almond milk in our house and welcomed the opportunity to try this Macro coconut milk. I consumed this milk as I would usually consume almond or cows milk, having some with cereal and also in my cup of tea. The milk mixed well and didn't curdle as some almond milks seems to do. Personally I didn't enjoy the mouthfeel of this milk, and thought it was almost gritty. It might have worked better in a smoothie as suggested on the carton, however we just aren''t a smoothie type of household!I was quite impressed with the proportion of Australian ... MoreEasy to find, reasonable non dairy milk alternative. I don't see this as a repeat purchase and will probably stick to almond milk which is a lot smoother.
Macro Organic Coconut Milk Unsweetened 1l. Not a bit watery, v watery, hence not suitable for curries or even in baking. As for advertising "What's inside matters A naturally dairy free and oh-so creamy milk alternative that's made with organic coconuts and zero added sugar", creamy, definitely NO! I've eaten fresh coconuts (pieces or grated, used to make fresh coconut milk) in yrs gone by, they are naturally sweet. I made curry, luckily I used tried a small portion, was so watery I opened a can of TCC premium coconut milk which is heaps more fragrant and more delicious. Taste and see the difference instantly! Sorry, won't be recommending this so watered down macro coconut milk.
A Tad Salty But Flavoursome. Macro Organic Coconut Milk Unsweetened 1litrePrice: $2. 50 Product of: Made in Australia from at least 78% Australian ingredientsIngredients: Only 12% coconut milk. The rest is made up of water, organic brown rice, calcium carbonate and salt. General: - Pretty easy to spot on the shelf in the store. An attractive design with an obvious coconut theme. - I gave the carton a good shake before sampling some from a glass. It had a mild coconut milk flavour with a quite a salty overtone. - I used some of it to make my daughter some cold beetroot and coconut milk soup in my blender (Diced tinned beetroot, chick peas, coconut milk, ginger, parsley, salt, pepper.... ) She enjoyed the soup and also sampled the coconut milk separately. She agreed that by itself it was a little salty and commented that I probably hadn't needed to add more salt to the soup I made because of that. - As the product has to be used withing 3-4 days of opening, I really wish this was sold in a 500/600ml size instead of a litre. We will probably struggle to use a whole litre before it expires. Overall: It probably should be called 'Coconut & Rice' milk, as the percentage of coconut milk is so low (12%). I would prefer less salt but the flavour was quite nice. I would buy again only if a smaller size was available.
Mix of Coconut & Rice Milk. Not sure about the Macro milk being labelled as "Coconut Milk" as it also contains rice milk as an ingredient. The Macro coconut milk is similar to the PureHarvest product, Coco Quench. I found the Macro coconut milk was a little watered down on the coconut flavour. The branded one contains more coconut milk (20%) while the Macro coconut milk contains only 12% coconut. Another difference is the Macro coconut milk has an extra ingredient: calcium carbonate. Love that this is an organic product. I made a banana and oat smoothie with this and was nice. I am surprised that this product has been only given a 3. 5 health star rating and could be given more stars. Great milk. Really enjoyed this milk. I made a strawberry and banana smoothie using this milk and it turned out creamy and delicious. The milk didnt have any overpowering flavour or taste but wasnt lacking in either also. I loved the packaging as all relevant info is clear and easy to read. I did find it a little hard to find the product on the shelf however as there was so many cartons of the other milk alternatives but only few units of coconut milk. Wondering if a second shelf area near the canned coconut milk section would also be a good idea? 1 star lost because of the coconut % in the milk. Would like a hugher % than 12%
Subtle taste of coconut. As I have never purchased “Macro Organic Coconut Milk Unsweetened” I really didn’t know what to expect and have no comparison for it. The packaging was nice and modern. It was easy to locate in store on a top shelf next to the soy milks. The screw top was easy to open and similar to the other long-life milks. Very handy to keep as a backup in your panty. Tasted nicer than other long-life milks I have tried. Bringing it home I placed it in the fridge as I was going to try it the following day. 1) Tried it as plain milk first. It’s very watery (is it meant to be like this?). Did give the carton a good shake before opening. Checked the ingredients, only 12% is coconut milk. Not bad, a bit like lamington taste wise. 3) Baked “Coconut Milk Cake” I saw on “Better Homes and Gardens”, result yummy! The mixture was a bit runny I thought and had to cook it a bit longer than the recipe stated. Not sure if that was a result of this brand of coconut milk being watery. Again, the coconut flavour was very subtle. 4) Use it in place of full cream milk on my morning low sugar almond & coconut cereal hoping it would enhance the coconut flavour. This was a big fail. Result was more like cereal in a bowl of water. In summary, it’s very subtle and can be substituted for regular milk in just about anything. Even if you don’t like coconut, I feel you can still use it without being bothered by the taste. Yes, I would purchase again for baking but not drinking. Good alternative for those that can’t have full cream milk. Could be improved by increasing the coconut milk contents percentage.
