Macro Organic Peas 450g

Not so easy to Peas. These peas tasted like non organic peas. I thought that the taste of peas would be stronger being organic and no pesticides being used but I really didn't notice a difference. The price of them is quite expensive which is another reason why I wouldn't choose them over regular peas. I do like the packaging of them though. It's attractive and eye catching. Overall I wouldn't buy these peas over the regular one.

Snap frozen, but honestly they taste no different to the regular Aussie peas. Ms G would not buy these peas again but is thankful for the opportunity to try.

I tried this sample of organic peas as a side dish alongside a roast chicken. I cooked them as per the instructions and tasted them at various stages in the cooking process to check for doneness. These peas are packed in Belgium “from multiple origins” whatever that means. I would like to see a lot more detail about those “multiple origins”. Though I normally would be happy to buy products from, or made in, Belgium, we really have no idea where these peas were grown, and there seems little point shipping peas from the other side of the world when we grow our own peas here. It might just have been acceptable if these were superior peas, but they were horrible. There were several yellow hard ones, they were floury with tough skins, and were tasteless, hard and almost inedible. OH, who loves peas thought the same. The dog liked them though. I was going to throw the remainder of the bag in the bin but decided to keep them to add to the dog’s food - she is not fussy. Major pea fail I’m afraid.

Amazing green pea soup! With this cooler weather I decided to make a green pea soup with these macro peas because I’ve always wanted to see what a fresh pea soup tasted like. I love pea and ham soup so felt it would be a win-win .... and it was! Instead of ham or bacon I decided to use chicken as the base protein seeing it is lighter in flavour and it did work well. I fried off a diced brown onion, garlic and leak with a little olive oil until it was translucent, then added the diced chicken. Once soft, I added a litre of stock (I used powdered vegie stock and boiling water) and the bag of peas. After five minutes I blitzed the soup with a stick blender until smooth. If you want it smoother than smooth, put it in a Vitamix. Add salt and pepper to taste. I served it ... MoreAmazing green pea soup! I served it with homemade sourdough croutons made by tossing cubes of bread with some melted butter, garlic powder and minced garlic and baking in a hot oven until browned and crunchy - keep checking and tossing to make sure the croutons brown evenly. Then enjoy! It is a very filling soup but it is very quick and easy to cook especially for the weekend.

Very handy, tastes good. These are really handy to have in the freezer for days when there aren’t any fresh veggies in the fridge. Some veggies don’t freeze well, but peas do!! They don’t seem to loose much flavour or texture from being frozen and re-heated which makes them very convenient for when you want to add some veggies to your meal but don’t have anything in the crisper at the bottom of the fridge!The only thing for me is the pack was very hard to open on one corner and then tie up to put back in the freezer. Local product is best. I usually purchase frozen baby peas, and these didn't compare with their sweetness and tenderness. I found them to be tougher and drier, but that's a personal opinion. I strongly dislike that this product is packaged in Belgium from other sources. That could mean any country, including some that I try to avoid purchasing food products from as I don't trust their farming practices. I personally find it very strange that anyone would want to purchase organic produce that then travels so far to get to our shores. The pricing of this product is too high for it to be affordable as a regular purchase, but I understand that you need to pay more for organic produce. I will not be purchasing them in the future.

Expensive and not Australian grown. I use frozen peas very often so was excited to try this sample. The price was quite expensive compared to other brands, at $5 for a 450gr packet. Once opened, I found most of the peas were split, however the taste was nice. For me the biggest negative of these peas is that they are packed in Belgium from "multiple origins”. Given that these peas are more expensive than the Aussie grown, I will not be purchasing again.

Organic Peas. I found these Organic Peas to be very tough and the taste was not at all that pleasant. It is great that they are certified organic and obviously gets a 5 Health Star Rating. It is a very healthy product full of nutrients but disappointing that it is an imported product. Would be great if they were sourced locally from Australian Farmers. They don't even come close to the Woolworths baby Peas that I normally buy and I tried different ways of cooking them with onions, in soups and mashed. They still were tough after cooking them for a long time and mashed the taste was not pleasant. This product needs improvement overall, the only thing going for it that it is organic.

They just tasted like frozen peas. I can't really say much more. I don't usually purchase frozen vegetables, however I thought I would give these peas a try. I have eaten frozen peas in the past and I really could not find anything different with these, apart from the fact that they are Certified Organic. I cooked them in the microwave for 5 minutes as per the instructions on the pack. however they were still a little crunchy which is probably the best way to eat vegetables. Surprised to see they are a product of Belgium. Disappointing really as Australia has an abundance of produce and I would prefer to support Australian made and owned products. For this reason, I would not purchase these peas again.

Delicious Organic Peas. We always consume organic products and Macro is one of our favorite brands. We love Macro Peas and always stock it up all the time since it's so popular and very hard to find. It's nice and juicy. I guess being organic really did make a difference. The only drawback for this product is the price - $5 for 450g. So it would be a challenge for Woolworth to make it this product more affordable
