This wasn't what I expected. The male connector is more of an irrigation connector. Even when I applied clamps it still leaked. No instructions. I went out of my way to pay extra for a product made in Australia. What a shame! Returning this product to Bunnings for a refund.

The plastic connector is the weak link because it leaks after a time and needs to be replaced quite regularly but the metal construction does last well. It would be very helpful if Bunnings stocked the plastic connector to simplify the procurement which currently requires a special order or direct purchase from Maddeford Engineering.
As others have said it lacks the hose connection on one end and its positioned in such a way that it kinks the hose anyway if you do get a clamp to attach it.
Unlike another review here the welds on this seem solid.However, there are some serious flaws.First off, although there is a standard hose connector to the tap, the connector to the reel hose is not. You'll need get a hose clamp. Position of the clamp will be critical to avoid leaks.If you're using a main hose prone to kinking, it will kink from the connector onto the reel. I worked around this with a bit of gaffa tape and more clamps to position the hose to avoid kinking. That's a bit of mucking about.Next problem: Somewhere on the join of the elbow connector there is a leak. I sense it will get worse.I will probably return it, but it's a 150k to the nearest bunnings :-(All in all, it's left me disappointed.
I bought this morning very disappointed. Didn’t realise had to buy a hose clamp. What size clamp. No info given. Will be returning it.
Why sell something that needs something so small to work but not include it??
This product is not cheap and is only as strong as the weakest part. The plastic parts break and leak in a very short time. The replacements are very expensive and hard to come by.
after 1 use the weld at the bottom broke. i need my equipment to work im on a farm. very disappointed
