The company was founded on the combination of artistic interest and techniques of the painter, Gianni Maimeri (1884 - 1951) and his brother's chemical knowledge (Carlo Maimeri, 1886 - 1957). Today Maimeri Puro's approach to manufacturing oil paint is simple: Oil + pigment and nothing else. No fillers, just a minimum quantity of additives to improve the paint's rheological properties. Colours were developed to achieve an excellent chromatic result. Each one was individually calibrated and tested until 83 perfectly balanced shades were created.
