Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois De Balincourt Candle

Don't waste your money on this candle. there is absolutely no scent when it burns. it wasn't always like this but the last 3 candles I've gotten have all been garbage. clearly they cheaped out and changed the formula (while raising the price). I have two burning in my bedroom a few feet from my face and I cannot smell ANYTHING.

A little disappointed

I ordered the No.04 Bois de Balincourt - travel oil and spray. The oil barely comes out and the spray doesn't last long at all. After a few minutes it's like you never put any on. The candle is great and I haven't tried the deodorant yet. I've tried Riddle which has a sent close to this one and it lasts all day!

Disappointing scent performance

I had high hopes for loving their candles, but unfortunately, it's a pass for me. On the positive side, the price is affordable and the candles boast clean ingredients and high-quality wax, ensuring a clean burn. However, when it comes to the most important aspect, the scent, it falls short. Even in a small room, the fragrance doesn't perform well, lacking the desired impact. It only has a faint scent that's barely noticeable from a distance. Perhaps I'll consider returning for their unscented candles in the future.

Large gap in wax

I love this brand and the smell. I have several throughout the house and recently purchased the diffuser and love it. I would have given the candle five stars, however half way down the glass container is a large air bubble - this was in both of the candles that I purchased in the same order. The air sack is noticeable and will cause an uneven burn. Otherwise, I love the scent, but quality control needs attention.

Obsessed!

I bought this candle as a “dupe” for the Le Labo Santal candle. It’s close, but honestly it stands on it’s own and has exceeded my expectations. I used to work for Jo Malone London and Diptyque selling candles at double and triple the price point for the size so I know what to look for in a good candle - good scent throw, clean burn and no tunneling (tunneling is where there’s leftover wax around the outsides - wasted wax is wasted money). This candle has a great scent - warm and cologne-like. Perfect fall/winter scent. I get complements every time I burn it and even when the candle isn’t burning I catch the scent of it as I walk by. Smaller wick = smaller flame = more burn time.

Pleasant scent

We are not fragrance people, but I wanted a candle with a light fragrance for my half bathroom that company uses. I do like the Santal 33 fragrance and when the reviews likened it to that, I knew I had to give it a try. I haven’t lit it yet, but it still scents the bathroom in a nice, light way. It’s a nice spicy scent that is pleasant and doesn’t make us sick like other scented candles have a tendency to do. I am very happy with it so far and will be lighting it at some point…with the fragrance in the air without lighting it, I think I’ll wait on that a bit longer.

Smells Nice but Burns Unevenly

This is the first candle I’ve gotten from MLM and while the scent is lovely - warm and comforting - the craftsmanship of the candle itself does not justify the cost. As others have mentioned, there was an air bubble between the wax and the glass. I also noticed that my wick was not centered so my candle is burning unevenly. I’ve kept it lit for 4-5 hours at a time to remedy it but it did not fix itself. I also wish the throw was a little smaller. I’m using it in a smaller bedroom and it gives off a very faint smell. I’ve gotten candles with a better throw from Target. Overall, I like this candle, but it could be better for the price.

The best candle in all of the land.

This scent makes my soul smile. It's sly because when you first get it, it's like oh this smells good... and then...You. Light. It. And BAM the candle says "I'm here to make all of the smiles and smells happen". It's spicy and earthy and sweet and all of the things that make my heart happy. I can sit in a room with this candle unlit and STILL smell it. It's THAT GOOD. I want to roll around in this smell always. I recommend.

The scent is great but as a candle, it is almost undetectable.

I've sampled the fragrance Balincourt, a handful of times and loved it. I wish it would come through in the candle though. I have to position my nose within 2-3" of the candle while burning to smell anything. I wonder if I dump the perfume oil sample that was included into the wax...would that make it smell like something? Frustrated.

I picked up this candle along with a fragrance and am very happy for a multiple amount of reasons (other candle makers should take note) .1 The wax is much more long lasting than other candles I've used2 This candle burns much more evenly than other candles Ive used3 The scent is very present but not overwhelming or oily
