I really enjoyed trying Maison Margiela Replica By the Fireplace Eau de Toilette. It was long-lasting and a little went a long way. It’s such a beautiful, nostalgic scent. It’s reminiscent of a fireplace during wintertime. I love that it smells like a fireplace without being too smokey or overpowering. This isn’t a type of scent I’d usually look for (I usually wear florals or light/clean fragrances), so it was nice to try something new. I was pleasantly surprised! This is a fragrance I’ll keep wearing throughout the winter, though I’m not sure if I’ll wear it during the summer since it has a more wintery vibe. But overall, I liked it a lot and I recommend it to anyone who likes woody, wintery fragrances.

A must have winter/fall fragrance

I received a gift card to select a product of my choice to review. By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela is like a warm hug from a cozy cabin. It's the scent of toasty marshmallows and smoky firewood on a chilly night. Unique and comforting, it's a fragrant story of winter's embrace that I can't get enough of. It's like snuggling up by a crackling fire on a winter evening. It wraps you in a comforting embrace of smoky sweetness, like sharing stories by the fireside on a winter night. It's the fragrance equivalent of a snug blanket on a chilly day. I'll definitely be buying this more in the future. So far the best fragrance I've ever owned.

Cozy Sweet

One of my “pandemic hobbies” was diving into the world of fragrance. One of my first favorites was By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela Replica when I tried their discovery set, because of how unique this “memory in a fragrance” is. It captures the smokiness of a fireplace, balanced by the sweetness of clove, vanilla and cashmeran to make this a deliciously sweet cozy winter scent. Everytime I’ve worn this, I always hear “you smell sweet!” and any compliment about fragrance lights me up. Delicious winter vibes

First off I will start by saying I do love this fragrance composition and I only rated it four stars for longevity. So for me personally I love a fragrance that lasts a long time. This lasts I would say maybe three hours on me before having to reapply. Not sure if I go nose blind quickly or if its so delicious I just have to keep spraying. Notes listed are: orange flower, clove oil, and chestnut atop a comforting vanilla fragrance. To me the orange and vanilla smells like carmel or praline with Clove being a background note. The Clove and Chestnut make it spicy and warm like literally being by a fireplace in the winter without being super heavy and smokey. I love layering this fragrance with Ellis Brooklyn Après EDP. Great But Definitely Leans Masculine!

My wife and I both tried this together at the same time and we both agree that we would NOT want to smell this on her. She loves the scent so much, but she wants to smell it NOT wear it. In other words, she wants to smell it on me! This scent is sophisticated, but so different than your average cologne. Bottom line: I like it a lot. My wife loves when I wear it. I would not wear this as a "signature scent" in my daily life, but definitely a great bedtime scent. Or just hanging out with your significant other scent. This fragrance definitely leans masculine. I can't stress that enough.

If cozy season was a fragrance

I love REPLICA scents and this one is actually a favorite of mine. It embodies the essence of cozy season, my favorite time of the year. It’s like getting all of the best elements of sitting right next to the fire pit or fireplace without any of the negative ones. I love wearing this with sweaters and just curling up on the couch with a cup of tea and a good book. When you first spray it, It can smell very smoky but it dries down into something sweet and delectable while retaining a smoky essence. Like a marshmallow that you’ve roasted to the perfect golden color over an open flame. I can almost hear the wood crackling and spitting when I wear it. This is kind of a love hate mixed review. I am so dissapointed that I love this scent but the ingredients list is terrible! I will not be using this product after scanning it In my cleraya app and finding that it contains icky ingredients.Before I had checked that list, trying out this perfume was a delight. The scent was exactly as it sounds. Smoky sweetness that makes you think of cozy winter nights infront of the fireplace with A warm sweater on and something soothing to drink. I cannot confidently wear this or recommend to someone. But for the ingredients, this would have been an absolute slam dunk. I went in store and sprayed it on my wrist - immediately I was overwhelmed with the smell of thick, cloying smoke, just like when the wind blows in your direction at a campfire. Not something I enjoyed. Within minutes, my throat felt like it was closing it on itself; I had to keep my wrist away from my nose. One hour later, I finally gave it another try - the scent had slightly settled. It was a mix of smoke, tempered with a bit of vanilla and cloves. It smells like something I’ve smelled in a candle before. It’s nice, and certainly nostalgic, but not something I personally want to smell like. I usually like floral, fruity smells so I was a little apprehensive. After I wore this a few times and to a few holiday events, this scent grew on me. While this is a heavier perfume in my opinion, the scent does lighten up as you wear it. In my opinion this is a rather unisex scent. For the male gender this isn't too sweet. For the female gender this might be a little heavier of a smell but it isn't a bad for an evening wear. The packaging of the bottle is classy and the fact that I can recycle the bottle by purchasing a refill is something that very much excites me.
