Applied this with the ELF Putty primer brush, sheered out all over face and layered on areas I wanted color or contour. Dried down to a natural, my skin but better look that lasted all day. Also tried with Lightly applied a serum foundation with a Beauty blender sponge over this balm and contoured with ELF Luminous putty primer in Vacay Mode. Glowed all the way through the layers. I'm really enjoying this product. It does have a citronella smell, but it fades. Used on lips as well. I wanted an easy one-product that wouldn't fade in the summer heat and this product worked out very well.

So glad I jumped on this before all of the colors sold out (hope they get more in soon!). I purchased the Bare and Peach colors and am so impressed. I am a fair-skinned 61 year old and have always cared for my skin. I use the Revolution serum foundation to even out my skin tone, IRL concealer, then contour with the Bare Balm Glow and use the Peach for a pop of cheek color. It looks so natural! I really love the ease of use. I do find that it does fade away before the end of the day, so I would re-apply if needed. The price-point is excellent and I hope they never discontinue this product. But we need more in stock! I'd like to have another color in my supply!

I have both these and the Jones Road Balms in a number of shades. I don't think there's a comparison here. These are much thinner in consistency than the Jones Road balms, which I actually prefer. These give more of a wash of color. I find the Jones Road balms can "glob" up on my cheeks easily and make my skin feel very heavy, almost droopy. Nothing of the sort with these. They also don't have as much of a scent as the Jones Road balms. I use the JR balms more as skincare now, while these are perfect for layering with makeup, even over powder in case your makeup starts looking too flat. Overall very impressed with these Makeup Revolution balms. The Natural Nude shade in particular is gorgeous. I was pleasantly surprised with this Revolution product. I bought this thinking it might be similar to Jones Road which I thought was too expensive. It is not as creamy and takes a little effort to swirl in the pot with your finger. I patted this on the apples of my cheeks with my finger without foundation. It gave me a nice effect of a no make up look with just a little color. If you use a foundation it might come out a little darker. It is a sheer balm and not drying. I used a primer and a serum only on my skin before application. I have fair skin blue eyes and silver hair.Usually bronzers are too heavy or too drying on my skin and the color is too dark this one was just perfect. I would recommend this color for fair skin if you like a light bronzing effect. This ... MoreI was pleasantly surprised with this Revolution product. Really, really love this product. The texture is balmy, but not sticky. I have combination skin and I really enjoy the way this makes my skin look. I break it and mix with my fingers (warmth from your fingers really helps), then apply to my face and buff it out with a brush, otherwise you'll look like a doll with intense color on your cheeks. The color is buildable, but always subtle. It leaves a really nice flush of color on skin OR for the nude shades leaves a nice sun-kissed look. I also use it on my lips to balance out the color. LOVE this product!
Usually, I would never try a balm on my cheeks. I'm oily and have "mature" skin with large pores. When I saw this at Ulta, I honestly thought I would just use it as a lip balm. When I saw how big it was, I was blown away, it is HUGE! I bought the peach shade and this morning, something got the best of me. I used the balm on the apples of my cheeks and the Super Dewy blush in "blush me up" which is like a berry shade and it looked AMAZING!!! My cheeks had a great glow and it lasted a goid while. Even after the color started fade after several hours (5 or so, I live in a hot, humid state and it's to be expected), it still left a great glow. It never looked oily though. It makes my lips so smooth, too.
I feel like I have looked for the perfect blush/lipstick for most of my adult life - everything is either too warm or too cool, too orange or brown or pink. But Rose Pink Is everything I have dreamed about! I love the texture - it glides on well but doesn't feel sticky or tacky after application. The pigment is perfect for someone like me who isn't super-capable with makeup - I can build up the color or just use a wash for a natural look. And it is absolutely beautiful on my lips - definitely a YLBB wash of color. Looking forward to trying Sunkissed Nude as a bronzer.
I bought the three darkest shades and the lightest shade because they're quite sheer. For reference, I have light-medium skin w/ warm undertones. They're great for sheer makeup days where I just want to brighten and add some color. I just look well slept and flushed with a little warmth to my face with glow (the lightest shade). Very dewy finish, best for dry skin. Very generous size. If this is the look you're going for- a little tinted moisturizer and just some warmth and flush to the face- it's perfect. My fave is the deep plum.
I bought three shades - the plum, the nude, and the pink. I have light (light medium in summer) skin tone, and pretty dry. I found this product to be relatively sheer, but buildable up to a point. All three shades work for my skin tone. The nude color works well as a natural looking bronzer (not contour, it's too warm toned to contour.) The plum and the pink are very natural looking blush colors, and look nice as a balmy lip product too. The plum has the best color payoff out of the three I purchased, but my favorite is the nude. It gives a very sunkissed, healthy glow. This isn't a typical "cream blush/bronzer" product. Its creamy, but low pigment. It's a balm so think sheer, light washes of color in a moisturizing base.
