Half the price of the more professional models but more than adequate for my DIY needs. Plus since it uses 12v and my older 10.8v Makita Batteries it's cheaper to run.

Bare unit means not battery or charger. My mistake but makita is good kit. Say rechargeable but I mistakenly thought that was the unit...its not. Purchased a battery and charger on the Internet....advise only buy genuine kit.

Not impressed with the design. Weight of the battery tilts the laser when you try to stick the magnet to a corner bead and there’s no adjustment on the pin so it’s difficult to set up. Poor from makita

Overall good quality as all makita kit, though the target is cheap. Does the job as intended, probably would have bought green laser now I know a bit more about them
Excellent build quality and highly visible line. Locking pendulum is a bonus for flashing non level or non plumb lines. Comes with a really nice kit bag and sturdy magnetic bracket. Would recommend highly for the price.
The 105DZ uses 12V batteries and is not compatible with 18V batteries. It doesn't come with power supplier either, so you gotta either buy an 18V to USB adapter and a separate USB to 105DZ cable or an adapter... Overall given it's a laser you use when you work on something - they could have made it compatible with 18V (especially that they have to step down from 12V to 5V anyway) or offer an optional version of the product with all the USB malarchy included. What was really annoying though was the fact that when you buy the 18V to USB adapter - you still need to buy the USB 105DZ cable separately - and that is roughly 20 at the moment... 20 for a cable... Overall I now have a contraption of the laser + stand + cable + battery adapter + 18V battery... Should have ... MoreThe 105DZ uses 12V batteries and is not compatible with 18V batteries. Fab little machine. I’ve previously used the Dewalt version. It’s excellent, and this is little different, except that you can lock the delicate mechanism on the Makita one, protecting it from jolts in transit. Also it uses a rechargeable battery from the 12v CRX range, so super handy provided that you have one of these.
Great Product does what it says really well.
very useful and does exactly what its supposed to do. Great bit of kit.
excelllent product would recommend
