A very good product, a little heavy but powerful. If you've got other Makita tools & batteries (18v) then a really good buy. This product was brought together with storage toolbox, very happy with this buy for the price. The sander does what it says on the box. together with dust bag, no filters to buy. Job done. The 19" Storage Toolbox, although made of plastic looks strong and seems to be well made. If looked after and not abused I think it should last for some time. All in all, I think I've got a really good deal for the price. PS: The above was brought for home DIY.

The convenience of working without a cable combined with the sensible size of this sander make it ideal to me. It was using it on and off all day and only used one battery but I am sure that it will run for quite a long time if used constantly. Grip is comfortable and the controls very simple with 3 pre set speeds and and on/off button.

Nice & convenient orbital sander that can double as a car polisher when u buy the 5 polishing pads that use Velcro to stick on! Used it to safely sand car headlights & clear coat - not the most powerful but its a handy piece of kit to go with your Makita batteries

This will make your life so much easier!! I do a lot of small woodworking projects and was always sanding by hand, but this has saved me hours. I like the different speed settings as well. Great quality as expected from makita! The vacuum bag doesn't catch everything obviously so definitely take your project outside still if possible.
This sander is so convenient (using Makita's LXT batteries) doing jobs away from mains cables. It is small using 125mm discs and quite light but also powerful so will drain a small battery fairly quickly, 5AH are good. It does have a dust bag attachment but I rigged up a link to my bandsaw extractor and that was very successful at keeping dust down in the workshop. I like to use a sander out in the open if possible.
Generally very happy with this sander. Having a cordless sander makes such a difference for on-site work especially at heights. This sander does the job as well as most mains powered units and batteries last well. I find when you only have one hand free the two button switch a slight nuisance. It has three speed settings cant imagine why you would need slow speed. Solid reliable as usual from Makita, although a little pricey.
Fantastic sander and no cable restrictions. Used 1.5 Ah battery and lasted longer than I expected. Should of bought years ago
Great handy sander. I only use it on full speed for sanding as other speeds are too slow. It is quite heavy for size but this is not a fault as it is a very solid machine. This is not meant to be a heavy duty sander but is fine for general sanding. Dust collection using the supplied bag is ok so I dont bother connecting it to an extractor. Handy to just reach for and use. Overall happy with sander and would buy it again.
Like all cordless sanders it eats battery power so suggest at least a 4Ah battery required. Never going to be as powerful as corded sander but for finishing its excellent and handy without trailing flex everywhere. Connected to the shop vac dust control is pretty good.
There are many competing brands for these sanders. This is the one to go for, you get a well balanced machine with the usual Makita quality. Big plus for me is the transit case. This means the sander is properly protected and kept with all the spare pads.
