Excellent tool for the job, drives makita Brad's all the way in through several layers of wood on low depth setting, high setting you can sink them.Sunk 1000ish Brad's in a day and no jams no misfires all brads in perfect.A powerful tool I dont regret buying, makita quality and a usable weight.

What a fantastic piece of Kit!!!, Made a massive difference on four jobs already fitting trim to existing laminate flooring ,fitting skirting boards and facings on a refurbishment job ,fitting beading and quadrant on two other jobs so it's paid for itself already. I was going to get a gas operated finishing nailer but I'm so glad I bought this instead and as my kit is all Makita there's no problems with batteries

Finally, a nailer that doesn't use separate gas cannisters or different batteries and chargers. Love the ease of use, although slightly heavier than the gas units but that's a small price to pay. 2 firing modes and a massive 63mm capacity for the bigger jobs. You get the usual Makita quality and reliability and runs off any Makita 18v LXT battery. My friend borrowed mine for a couple of days and he's changing his Bostitch nailer for one of these. If you're a Makita fan then this is perfect for you.
When it works it's great. Brand new. Faulty. Fixed. Worked for 8 months. Faulty again. 3 blokes at work have the same issue. Love Makita. But do NOT buy this nailer...
As stated by previous purchasers the gun is a little on the heavy side and the depth adjustment has to be on the max to bury the Brad. All in all though a great addition to my Makita range and no gas cells !
I bought this a month ago and on first use it was great. It was straight forward mailing on skirting boards but now after some time I've been using it to try get into tight spaces nailing every way you can imagine and it doesnt seem to ever want to fire when the gun is not at either a 90 degree angle to the surface you are nailing. For that reason I am pretty dissatisfied as I know the paslode angled nailer is perfect for nailing regardless of this. I was very happy with everything else except this. Maybe I am still to find out the correct way to use this gun, who knows.
Initially this nailer did not perform as expected (see previous reviewer - Gary Mac). What this turned out to be was a tired old battery; I have a bunch of 3/4ah batteries that are 8/10 years old. When I put in a new 5ah battery the nailer worked perfectly. That said, it is noisy, and definitely makes bystanders jump if they don’t know it’s coming. The nailer is well made and effective and once I realised that a newer battery was needed it has worked flawlessly.
I was not impressed with this Makita nail gun!! I was looking for an alternative gun to move away from my gas fueled one. The first 7 nails fired with this new makita were left sticking out by 30mm!! they were only 40 mm nails being used. I Checked the depth setting, that seemed ok.I was nailing a 20mm softwood batten! Whether I had a faulty gun, I am not sure? But as a proffessional user, I need great reliable products that will do the job. I had to send this back!!
I chose the makita over the paslode 2nd fix due to not having to buy gas cartridges. If you're a makita fan, lie myself (40 yrs) then you'll always have extra batteries. It's a heavy piece of kit, but it's not a problem as I'm not doing architrave, skirting etc day in day out. Beats the hell out of humping a compressor, airline and nail gun everywhere! I give it 5
