Makita 18V Brushless 4 Mode Impact Driver DTD154Z

Typical Makita. Solidly made and very good at doing the job it's designed for. Small front to back so good at getting into tight spaces. Can't comment on reliability but if up to all the other Makita cordless tools I've purchased I expect a long life

Love this, my old Makita impact driver is still working fine after 6 years of heavy use but I purchased this to get my basket up to the amount required to claim the free battery in the virtual tool show.It’s so powerful, and it’s a shorter than my old one. Over the past 2 weeks you wouldn’t believe how this small size difference has come in handy. Allowing to drill holes though joists that the old one wouldn’t quite fit.The settings are handy, being able to turn the power down is sometimes good but the Tex mode really helps

I've always used my drill for driving solutions. Never considered an impact driver. Wish I had though. This might be small, compared to my drills, but it's a Goliath in comparison.It's definitely a 5 star bit of kit. My only gripe was I bought it as a bare unit. I've purchased other tools the same. They came in a box and with all the instructions, guarantees and other bits of paper (I know....that you usually bin). This unit came bubble wrapped. I did query it but got nowhere. I downloaded the instructions so nothing amiss, I guess.

I haven't had this long, but it looks like a good quality cordless driver. I expect to use this a lot, both for DIY projects, and on occasional trips to customer sites (installing and uninstalling IT equipment).

Been using the 154z for a few weeks now and it’s a beast . Love this driver .Way better than my previous one . The slow settings come in very handy.

Excellent Impact Driver. Light and small in hand. I really like the torque / power setting. Middle power is probably best unless your driving in really long screws in thick wood. Nice one Makita.

Excellent tool with more power than my previous Makita impact driver. I opted to pay slightly more for this model as it had more torque and higher speed than other models. In saying that it was still 20% cheaper than other outlets. It is also shorter so can get into smaller places which is handy when needed. I have 4 ah batteries and it has had heavy use since arrival last week. Im impressed with how long the batteries last. I will only buy brushless cordless tools now after having this impactor.

Makita Impact driver does what it should without effort.

I bought this to replace my 6 year old impact driver. Nothing wrong with the old one, but the new one is slightly smaller and quieter; this is probably because its new, It has the T mode as well as the soft, mid and hard settings, it is able to cope with 200 mm screws with ease and also small screws. Very little vibration through the hands either. Most professionals use only one make for cordless tools, so batteries are interchangeable. If you are in this group or are intending to buy more than one tool, then you cant go far wrong with Makita. I have used them for several years and find their products well made and robust. You can use them in the rain without harm. It is very smooth and has enough power to do the job,however one might found the same category dewalt impact is more powerful using the same ah batteries,but I would argue both has it own usage areas. Makita impact is more smooth driver, whereas dewalt is extra power, same job can be done by both of them, for example tightening the ankor bolt, Makita does that a bit slowly but smoothly, dewalt does that with more power and faster. I would easily say that when it comes to screwing normal screws, Makita is a definite winner because it is a more smooth and gentle driver. At the same time it is definitely lighter weight and smaller handle too. Overall size of it also smaller making it look cool. I have been absolutely happy with my purchase. One might want to use at least 4ah battery with it because with higher ah battery you get more power. Overall brilliant tool. Thanks

The manufacturer packaging was heavily tape repeatedly like it was opened. At one point the drill bit fell out. I will strongly think about switching to different brand , DeWalt or Milwaukee. Should not of bought it.
