Ideal for crumbs , and quick dust off only. Light and agile. Might be worth buying a second filter because suction is well reduced to nothing after taking up a cuppa of dust cement, plasterboard. It’s ok for the money, especially if you are a mkita user with spare batteries..

Positives . Works better than all previous small cordless cleaners I have had. As a Makita LXT owner – no extra charging clutter to deal with. Washable filter. Makita spares and warranty Deep sale discount . Negative . Let down by the omission of a soft bristle head – so limited in cleaning car interiors, computer keyboards, dust and sawdust on tool put-away etc.

Best thing is no battery!

Let's face it this is NOT a high end cordless vacuum cleaner from Mr.D (or similar) but it's good enough for some quick cleaning up. The real winner is that it uses the Makita batteries you already have so you're not paying for another battery and don't end ups with yet another charger. It is really like the original 'dust buster' machines but the 18V battery and motor gives it a lot more suck! Best if you empty it and brush the filters off after every use to maintain performance. Mainly used with the nozzle but surprised how effective the floor bar was especially on hard floors.

Great little vacuum
23 November 2022

After reading all the reviews of this vacuum and 26% off in the Black Friday deal I decided to give it a try. Well if you’re looking for a great little vacuum and have a LTX battery this could be the one for you. It’s not without limitations it’s not going to replace the main vacuum but is good enough ( And plenty of suction) to clean the ash from around the wood burner, dog hairs, and clean hard floors and general diy clean ups. After all it’s only a small vacuum but worth the money.

Great tool for its size!

Obviously this isn't going to replace your Henry or Nilfisk, it wont make a good chip extractor for your electric planer. However, for light tidying up around the home and car it has exceeded my expectations by some considerable margin. Nice and light, good suction and seems gentle on the battery. Recommended, within its design capabilities.

Great vacuum
27 September 2021

I have had this hoover a day, for use around the house and so far I am impressed. Very simple design with push fit assemble which means this hoover can be stored away on a shelf or in a cupboard. Can switch from standing hoover to a smaller hand held by removing the main tube. A couple of criticisms, firstly the height is a bit of a let down. It stands noticeably shorter than a standard vacuum, which for me (6ft) is still very much usable, but less comfortable, just seems a shame as its only a case of Makita making the main tube longer or adding an extension piece. The battery attaches to the very top, I have the big 5amp on there, loads of power and life, but because it sits above the handle your wrist takes the weight which can be slightly uncomfortable for long ... MoreI have had this hoover a day, for use around the house and so far I am impressed. I can't comment on reliability yet but feels good quality for the price. I would take this over a £300 household hoover any day.

Makita gets it right again

I was recommended this by a friend, had a look at it and thought I would give one a go. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, it's powerful for such a compact hoover. We live on a boat and it's more than good enough to cope with sand from the chinchilla, sawdust from cutting wood and bedding from previous mentioned Chinchilla. We also have a chicken as a house pet on board, chickens make a mess. She takes dust baths in the chinchilla sand, sending it into the air at vast speeds and distances, she digs sawdust out of the chinchilla cage because it's fun and sends her seeds every when looking for her favourite ones, and this little machine copes with it all. We are very limited for space on our widebeam boat this is much smaller than all the popular brands like ... MoreI was recommended this by a friend, had a look at it and thought I would give one a go. We are very limited for space on our widebeam boat this is much smaller than all the popular brands like Dyson, and although it doesn't have the extreme suction of a Dyson it's much cheaper and does the job. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a reliable well made vacuum cleaner, that's easy to use, light weight and compact. Much easier than dragging our wet and dry around when using it at work too. The filters really easy to clean and comes out easily. Battery life is really good too. If you have any Makita products I would say this is a great addition. I am I bit of a Makita fan so may be a little bias. We have many Makita products all of them are excellent.

Neat little package
15 June 2022

Not wanting a clumpy vacuum for my DIY tasks, or wrecking our house vacuum in the process (keep Mrs Pobydd happy!), I saw this and purchased as I already had the batteries from the twin pack. What a little machine! Enough suction to get the dust and shavings etc of the floor. Then used to hoover Madam's boot that had mud in it. Handy for crumbs in the kitchen too. Compact, enough power to clean (don't expect a Dyson) for those tasks where you create debris (dust, shavings, etc). Well worth the price (so long as you already have the batteries!)

Great little vacuum, I am a builder and have many Makita tools and the vacuum is a nice touch. My wife borrowed it recently for doing the stairs at home, as our normal vacuum gives her back ache. She was so impressed with the Makita, I have now ordered her one of her own. The vacuum performs very well for it’s weight and size, the suction is better than i expected. Obviously not on par with a much bigger, or mains powered machine but, it’s powerful enough, and does the job it was designed for very well. Being light and compact, it gets plenty of use. It also performs way better than similar machines by other manufacturers. Because the dust/debris chanber isn’t very big, it needs regular emptying, which isn’t an issue. I just open it over a bin, and clean around the filter, with an old 2” paint brush. Just a note regarding the battery and charger, this machine doesn’t come with a battery or charger, as clearly stated. This probably isn’t pleasing when buying for domestic use, as it means buying a battery and charger. The thinking behind this, is for pro users who own other Makita tools, batteries and chargers. It’s was introduced to keep cost down, so every time a tradesman buys a drill or power saw etc, they don’t have to pay out for batteries and chargers. The bare body tools are like add ons. Even buying a battery and charger, still works out quite cheap for a cordless vacuum. Anyway, all in all, a very nice little vacuum, and I would recommend.

Wow, this is better than my shark! Normally I have to keep.going over and over the same part to pick one bit fluff, cotton but this picks stuff up so easily, just hovered it over few bits and up it went!! My stairs carpet looks new again! Was a bit confused by the no battery thing, thought one from my drill would work but didn't fit. Ended up buying makita drill set with loads bits, which included the battery and charger, was on sale elsewhere and worked out cheaper than buying separate items. I needed a new drill anyway. Am happy I did that and didn't return, as this vacumn is fabulous, really pleased with it. It picked up much more than my regular vacuum would have, easy to use and empty, clean, light weight, easy to manoeuvre. Can't comment on reliability yet. ... MoreWow, this is better than my shark!
