Absolutely fantastic. Right out of the box cut square and no need for any adjustment whatsoever. They ship with a thin kerf blade which is totally fine for my needs (breaking down sheet stock for cabinetry) but if I were to be cutting any solid wood I would probably get a thicker kerf or at least a thin kerf ripping blade. The thin kerf is probably better from a longevity stand point because it will draw less power from the batteries and demand less from the brushless motor.I’ve used the festool track saws rather extensively and honestly I like the power and functionality of this track saw more; it feels as though the plunge mechanism is more ergonomic for me.The fact that this thing is cordless is amazing. I always hated having to work around power chords ... MoreAbsolutely fantastic. I always hated having to work around power chords along with vac hoses so this is just another plus. If you’re on the fence because you’re not on the makita 18v system it’s totally the tool worth buying into it for.The case it comes in is spacious but I found some issues in the mould and it had trouble closing until I ran an exacto blade on the problem area. It’s just a case.

Fantastic piece of kit.Considerably more expensive than your typical circular saw so the value for money depends on the frequency you need it.I don't need it that often but I realized how much time I was wasting on setting up the straight edge and clamps with my skill saw and the ridiculous amount of mdf dust that produced when working in my workshop. This track saw with the guide rails solve both this issues. Quick, straight, nearly dustless cuts with the vacuum attached. Perfect. The only drawback I can think of is that being a 36V machine, it needs a good charge on both batteries and that the Right Hand blade position might take some getting used to if you prefer to have a good view on your cutting line (not that you really need it in track saw anyway).Cheers

Bloody brilliantly. Best £315 I’ve ever spent. I can’t believe the quality and the accuracy of cut. Easy to set up on the rails. I bought 2 x 1.5m rails so I can cut 2.4m sheets to make some cabinets. It’s going to be a breeze with this plunge saw! The usual good price and customer service from FFX. Thanks again.

Needed a plunge saw and guide rail and keen to add to brushless / cordless Makita collection. Ordered this on Sunday. Delivered Monday. Outstanding service!
Love it, glad I waited for the cordless 36v rather than wired version , nice feature set on this saw .Paired with makitas rail system much more versatile and easier to use than a table saw.Properly looked after this tool will last years like all of makitas products do.Add a vacuum and cuts are virtually dust free.Cuts are finished better than factory edges on mdf with the included bladeBrilliant service from fastfix
Brilliant piece of kit. Used with guide & clamps, it cuts so accurately and cleanly that I didn't need a router to finish the edges of a 40mm worktop. No breakout even on a 90cm wide island unit. Worth every penny. Only downside is I wish I'd bought one years ago.
Awesome set of kit. The plunge saw does exactly what it's supposed to do - pop down the rail where you need a cut, offer up the saw, and away you go. I wasn't intending to get the MacPac box and rail bag, but now I've used the saw a few times, I'm glad I did. The rail bag is well made and has excellent padding to protect the rail edges. It also has velcro inside to keep the rails separated. Given that the saw is quite expensive, I find myself using the box too (which I don't for my drill/drivers and impact drivers). The rail clamps are very clever and allow you to attach the rails to items such as doors whilst they're still on hinges to make cuts. It's not cheap but if you've been using a circular saw and a pencil/straight edge up until now, this will revolutionise ... MoreAwesome set of kit. £350 plunge saw arrived with a defective shoe plate. ZERO empathy from FFX when reporting the issue.I DID check the product when received, (but obviously not thoroughly enough!)Everything seemed okay, so I put it back in it's box until i needed to use it 2 months later.,The shoeplate was slightly bent in the corner. Only slightly be enough for it not to work properly on the track.Customer service rep had no empathy, no apology offered, and that the onus is on my to properly inspect and return <30 days.Makita - you need to work on your quality control.FFX - you may have good prices, but your customer service in this area is shocking....
This saw is absolutely fabulous and very simple to use. I would definitely recommend the battery version as I have been able to use it I'm difficult to reach areas without the worry of snagging the cord. The kit has everything you need to get going and cutting power very good. It is a great unit.
Great track saw that give you consistent cuts using the Makita tracks. Very easy to set up and use. The scoring function is great on laminate boards. You also get the makpac which is great for storing the saw.
