I had been searching for a left hand 7.25 blade circular with cord for sometime because although not very often but sometimes only the left hand bevel will do. I was at Depot a week ago and after scrutinizing this determined it would do. I was fully prepared to give the 160.00 they were asking but as I was in line the fellow next to me had the same saw and the 2 battery and charger kit as well. He told me that if I paid for the battery kit i would get the saw for free. so for 200.00 I believe I got a good deal for Christmas

Recommend for its lightweight and versatility. On my second saw actually. The first, I treated poorly for about 2 years. Torqued the depth adjuster too far and stripped the bolt. The depth adjuster is a bit fragile so remember to be gentle with it. The second time around I was better to it. Still had to replace the bolt that secures the adjusted mechanism ($12). Outside of this very durable for irregular use. Be good to this tool and it will be good to you.

Ive used Makita cordless tools for many years. I specifically shopped for this saw because I have always been pleased with its durability and performance. I am still using my 10 year old version and simply needed to add another for work purposes.

Low cost big value. I got this for free as a special deal home depot was running on a kit. This was one of the free tools to choose. I had a ridgid 6.5" brushless which was really nice but every other tool that went with it was falling apart so I returned all of that. Overall I'm really happy with this. Does what I need it to do. Wish it had a rafter hook and a led light. Other than that its great.

Parts started to fall off easily and had to be purchased and replaced.Also, the tool adjusts but the adjusted setting does not stay in place.Finally, the blade can't be removed. I tried for an hour trying to properly unscrew the blade to the point it's now stripped and the tool is ruined. I am a contractor, I buy dozens of tools a year, and have several makita tools. This one is bad and I hope you avoid this mistake of a purchase. I dread dealing with service, I hope it's not a problem!
Purchased this to go with my current supply of Makita 18v tools and am glad I did. I have used for small 2x4 framing jobs and deck building. The saw's plate is nice metal plate and adjustable for both tilt and depth of cut and has rip cutting guide. I use a 4ah battery and get about 35 +-7 cuts per charge which seems fair going through CDX 1/2" plywood and PT 2x4. Cuts are clean using diablo blade. I have a Skill 7 1/4 worm-drive but hands down prefer this for most jobs due to light weight maneuverability, controllability. Now I only bring out the worm drive saw for heavy duty cutting chores. Love the left side cut feature as I'm right handed so makes it easier to follow the cut line by eye, like the skill worm drive saw I have. Would definitely purchase this ... Contractor 25+ years New York City... I did not buy this for the blade, but I've never seen a blade fly apart like this one did.. it's definitely dangerous despite being carbide!While scoring oak flooring 3/8" a floor nail was in my path- (I always breeze though these slow) however the blade teeth flew everywhere upon 1st contact with nail; punctured my skin- had to pull pieces out of my arm and leg. Go lucky I was wearing glasses! Otherwise, its great with BIG battery and a DIABLO blade!

I wondered if it would have enough power but it really cuts fast and clean. Also I doesn't seem to be as loud, when cutting, as my big corded circular saw. I got it in a kit with a battery and charger. The battery that came with it and the batteries from my other Makita LXT star tools all work interchangeably without problems or modifications. Its already been knocked off the bench on to the ground (outside) a few times and has not suffered any damage not even a crack. Along with this saw, there is a 20yr old 12V Makita drill driver in the attached image that still works! That's even after being dropped on ... MoreThis saw works really well.
