So far so good. Usual well built and solid Makita build, and good power for a 1/4” cordless. Only used one of the bases so far but has been super little tool for trimming edge of a new mobile bench (probably pushing it since it was two layers of 18 mm ply) and putting a chamfer on a number of items of ply and hardwood edge trim. Looking forward to using it on more projects.

A beautifully designed and constructed tool set. The motor is smooth and powerful making the router a pleasure to use. It is the right weight for controlling whilf doing fine work. Very quick and easy to set up and adjust. Excellent all round.

Brilliant piece of kit, quiet, powerfull, and the battery lasts longer than expected. All my guys will reach for this over the corded versions we have. Down point, one of my guys pressed in the red spindle stop button to unlock the cutter from the collet using just one spanner. The button housing cracked, the crack runs into the outer casing and rendered the router useless until we get a new outer casing. The casing is sub£30 plus vat, not expensive, but a proper pain. The router comes with two spanners, USE THEM
This is a great kit if you already have 18v Makita tools. Its in a great caste with room for more items. It light weight in the hand and feels great and string being at least 80% aluminium. With the 4 included base it should cater for most situations. Durst extractor cover works well with my vac and the 2 leds keep the cutter and work piece in plane view.Safety switch is a great feature stops it turning on in the tool box you just need to learn to press the two touch point in the right order.Its all good nothing bad so far would highly recommend
Great trimmer, very versatile and easy to use. The kit provides lots of options for different uses which is great. However, there are two things that I did not like, first, the turning knob which adjusts the depth of the bit is too close to the body of the trimmer which is very bothering especially when you are adjusting the depth frequently to make deeper grooves. The second problem is the battery life, although it has a brushless motor, this tool eats my 5amp battery very quickly. I've read reviews before purchasing saying that the battery should last around 25 mins but it hasn't reached more than 15mins with me although my batteries are still brand new.
This is a very comprehensive and quality set of bases and accessories. It is a trimmer/mini router that is handy to have, if handled properly. Note, if you want a large base and more power, buy a full sized router. I am a retired professional carpenter, now just doing DIY and Hobby projects. I wish I had one of these years ago. Great at the price, easy to order and delivered promptly. I am a happie chappie.
A cracking little router but dont be fooled by the size it packs a punch. All the add ons fit well as expected from A makita product. I was suprised by how long you get from a good 3ahm battery. Alls good so far.

Took some time before I decided on this router as I already have 4 routers, although none cordless. Proved it's worth straight away with the excellent clear dust port. I used it with a curved cutter to round some MDF wardrobe doors. I attached it to a Henry vacuum with an adaption nozzle. No dust what so ever. Today I used it with the plunge base to groove out for shelves and very easy to set up. Not used the offset base yet or the angled one but will add to review when I do. If you want to do very fine work then this tool has it all. Oh and as a bonus I discovered that the plunge base has the same centres as my Dewalt router so you can use that fence, as that is something that is not included in the kit.
