Bought to replace the DTW251, Much better. We use in an industrial assembly line and the original lasted over 5 years, which makes it great value for money and even more so, because we did not have to buy another battery.

Good solid wrench .Plenty of grunt .Nice forward and reverse paddle switch action.Fairly heavy if that’s an issue. Quite long in the body too if access is limited. Uses the standard lxt battery. Good for slackening tight and rusted heavy duty nuts and bolts.Overall a handy , good solid tool ,ideal for the car mechanic as it has plenty power for the heavier duty fastenings .

Very powerful impact wrench certainly does the job very pleased with it comes highly recommended, as with all Makita tools you got quality build and if you register your Makita tool you will get a 3 year warranty.
Well balanced and powerful but bulky and heavier than expected. Not so good for tight spots and quite tiring in prolonged use. However, it will crack those stubborn nuts and bolts. With practice tightening torque can be judged by the number of hammer blows (sort of). The lower powered Makita wrench would be a better bet for regular use.
Oh why did I wait so long? I live in the Alps and have to change loads of summer tyres to winters and back. 1hrs job is now 15 mins. Powerful, solid and reassuringly weighty.
I bought this as a treat to myself following using a colleague's at work. The 'work' one is the same model and is a few years old, typical Makita quality, reliable and dependable.It has more than enough grunt to deal with almost all car and light goods needs. The body is slightly bigger than others but to me this reinforces its power and quality.I expect this one to last year's based on the work version.
Perfect tool to pull apart and rebuild most things without the immediate risk of destroying what your working on. Top tool for a home mechanic.
very good machine with two remarks: a pity that there is not a minimum torque adjustment applied with at least 3 positions ... and I thought I had a machine with a motor without brushes as on the model below DTW285, but this is not the case. (Carbonless motor: Powerful, Efficient, Compact and Light + 3 levels of shock power with electronic adjustment)
good quality high torque impact wrench . nice torch with on off switch so you only have it on when its required .impact wrench feels nice and balanced in your hand ,overall very nice product
