I'm not able to find the correct picture for this review. I LOVE USING MAKITA TOOLS. This brushes circular saw is a light weight then my previous one. This saw adjust its speed when cutting different cuts of wood. I noticed the saw self adjust it's power and torque automatically. I love that is has great ergonomic qualities for hand gripping. It's cuts are so smooth and it sounds great for every cut. I'm loving it so much, I will always invest in Makita tools. It pays off to invest in Excellent quality tools for yourself. Great purchase and warranty.

Almost perfect for cutting small wood near campfire. Plenty of cuts from 5AH battery, small, silent and handy. Only negatives is ugly useless black restrictor at the end of chain bar. I just drilled mine out and it making it almost almost perfect - now protective cover not holding in place :-)I would recommend this product.

Excellent for what it is. Easy to use one-handed, basically silent and plenty of power. Chain seems to stay sharper than it does on my other (larger) chainsaw. Oh - can’t do big logs with it, you’ll need a bigger saw for that, but that’s pretty obvious, given its size.
Pros: 1) Does a lot of work on one charge of a 5Ah battery. 2) Far less weight than a petrol saw, so its handy to use.Cons: 1) Oil mechanism is prone to failure leading to oil gushing everywhere. 2) Bunnings says there is a chain brake... if there is, mine isn't working. 3) It is really difficult to maintain chain tension on this saw particularly once everything is inevitably covered in oil. 4) As others have noted, the safety button is awkwardly placed.Overall, its not a bad saw but should be so much better for the asking price. Lift your game Makita!
A handy saw. It cuts well but spits out copious amounts of oil and the chain tension device is a weakness. I find a lot of debris sticks to the oil as well.All in all though it fills the gap between to power snips and a larger chain saw.
Purchased yesterday to remove small casurinas from yard and fence. Overall happy about purchase, used to instruct chainsaw use in the RFS so know a little about chainsaws. Its a pruning saw only so if your after firewood get something bigger. Kickback gaurd on bar tip is good for people who dont know how to use a saw, no bore cutting with this. Other people have said chain loosens off, I only found this if the saw is jumping around and had to make it jump around to see it. Used correctly is a great pruning saw.
I've already got a collection of Makita tools (and hence have the full battery setup) and stumbled across this awesome little piece of work.Works beautifully for significant yard trimming... easily gets through 6"+ trunks... like your proverbial hot knife through butter... The tip at the end of the blade is extremely helpful to guide the tool.Makita quality all around... quiet, powerful and very well constructed!
Great little chainsaw with plenty of power and easy to use if you are right handed. Us lefties have to put up with the button on the wrong side.
Works well , but the chain adjuster is the weak spot as it is very hard to keep the chain adjusted .Apart from that, its a very handy little saw .
