Makita chainsaw is good enough for any problems on forest trails. Good size , battery hold power for long time and no more petrol smell in cabin.

Disappointed when I got home there were no batteries in the packaging, on returning back to the store they only had a single battery charger to give me with 2 batteries, so someone stuffed up in picking the order. The chainsaw runs with 2 batteries so to recharge I’ll have to do one at a time instead of 2 at the same time.

Great little saw for home use. My husband loves that we don't need ear protection as it is quiet and easy to handle. If you are after a unit without the mess and noise of a petrol powered saw, this is a great alternative. The batteries allowed us to fell a small tree (approx. 8 foot) and cut it into firewood for next season - it then needed charging but only took under an hour and my husband was back out in the yard trimming back the weeds and branches near our pool. Very happy so far.

Great saw, I prefer using it over my 2stroke saw but the battery life sucks. Makita should supply this saw with either longer lasting batteries or at least 2sets at the same price. To buy 2 extra high amp batteries is an fairly descent investment but if you do buy the extra batteries or are not cutting a lot of wood it’s a great saw.
So far excellent product, only problem is chain keeps coming off while cutting, hopefully its's just running bar in!
Great quality product, works really well, powerful yet light enough to keep working without requiring breaks... just like the batteries (they surprised me with half a day work on a charge). Regret not going to electric earlier.. no messy fuel and oil mixtures or that expense, practically no noise (safer as I'm able to hear whats going on around me). This has been a great purchase for me.

Good saw for around the home and camping - good power, clean, easy to handle. The 350mm bar is a good size for the saw power and it performs well compared to a small petrol saw as claimed. It goes through the batteries fairly quickly to make the power but gives enough life to fill 3/4 of a trailer with fireplace size logs on one set. Great value kit if you're getting into the Makita 18v platform.
Experience to date is limited to work around the property (stage 4 lockdown in VIC), but I quickly learned to love the convenience of battery power over petrol. The 'tool less' bar/chain adjustment is magic, so much easier than my petrol chainsaw. I'm not into dropping major trees so the 14" bar length is more than adequate for my purposes. The twin 5Ah batteries are quickly recharged with the impressive high power twin charger. A great product.
